Hates Messi
A guy who was a consistent starter for the champions isn't good enough for a team that finished 6th.
Alright then.
People here also do not want a consistent starter on the team that finished second.

Marotta may ask for Matic as a partial cash rebate for Alex Sandro, some insiders are saying here in Italy.
Only difference is you know Mourinho is a winner, and Moyes would still have won jack sh!t even if we'd signed Fabregas, Bale and Ronaldo that first summer.
Matic is 6"4. We really are a team of giants if we add him.
We do have some shocking posters.
So far I've seen people dismissing Dier and Matic.
Saying Bale isn't worth it.
Saying Ronaldo isn't worth it.
It's a hard climate then to say who would be worth it!
Luke Shaw is taller than Phil Jones? Really? So is Herrera? Surely not.De Gea - 192cm
Valencia - 180cm
Bailly - 187cm
Lindelof - 187cm
Rojo - 187cm
Phil Jones -180cm
Chris Smalling - 193cm
Axel Tuanzebe - 185cm
Darmian - 182cm
Luke Shaw - 185cm
TFM - 185cm
Carrick - 188cm
Herrera - 182cm
Fellaini - 194cm
Pogba - 191cm
Matic? - 194cm
Martial - 184cm
Marcus Rashford - 180cm - I don't think that's right. There is a picture of Rashford beside Henry who is apparently 188cm where rashford is taller. I'd say he's more around - 186cm.
Morata? - 189cm
Perisic? - 187cm
We've got a couple of halflings in Mata and Mkhitaryan but if we have that squad next season we would really be a team of giants. Proper Jose team.

Bit small for Man Utd CBs. Ferdinand and Vidic were 1.89m and 1.90m respectively. Stam was 1.91m. For Mourinho CBs, it's about right though. For example, Terry and Carvalho were 1.87m and 1.83m respectively.Bailly - 187cm
Lindelof - 187cm
Rojo - 187cm
Ferdinand is well over 1.90, another case of player height documented wrongly. He is also taller than Vidic as nearly any picture or video with them together in whatever perspective you want will show you.Phil Jones is 185cm.

They'd all be worth it for me except Dier.We do have some shocking posters.

From what people are saying Bakayoko haven't been impressive so maybe he's not really better that what they already have?Personally, I'd be very happy if we fooled Chelsea into giving us Matic as they 'upgrade' him with Bakayoko. By mid season they'd be cursing.....
One argument I'm finding hilarious on here is 'If team X doesn't want the player, we shouldn't either'. It totally ignores the obvious fact our needs aren't theirs.
Out of position? The guy has played there for the most of his career, now he's out of position if he plays right-back? You people…
I understand your point, but unless we're getting rid of Young, it seems like a luxury to go for Fabinho and Semedo (for instance) this summer. You're right, that was poorly worded - not out of position (as you point out, he's played RB for longer than CM) - but I've been far more impressed by him as a CM and given what we need I think it'd be a waste to sign Fabinho and not use him in the centre. Of course, having options and flexibility in the squad is always good - but I'd rather sign Fabinho for CM and a dedicated RB to support Valencia
1 - i'm lazy to check stats now but i would not be surprised if Herrera had better defensive numbers than him.I have not watched him enough.
Is he
1) A taller and more defensive minded version of Herrera
2) A more mobile version of Carrick
or something else all together?

That would be my thinking. We are short in midfield - look what happened when Pogba was injured. Players need rest and Jose needs to rotate a bit more. Plus these two would give greater tactical flexibility.Get both Matic and Fabinho, we need depth in the midfield. We'll likely play maybe even more games than last season. And just take a look at december/january fixtures congestion due to World Cup...

I think the main issue we had during Pogba's injury layoff, was a total lack of creativity in central midfield - our passing game simply collapsed. I agree we need more depth, but two #6s seems overkill - I'd much rather see a #6 and a #8, with the latter to rotate/compete with Pogba and Herrera.
Our main issue was we had no midfielders. This is Jose, pragmatism above all else. Two DM are better than one. Chelsea one the Premiership with this approach. I am not saying it is right, or acceptable, but Jose has form here.I think the main issue we had during Pogba's injury layoff, was a total lack of creativity in central midfield - our passing game simply collapsed.
