NBA 2024-2025

@JPRouve Towns traded to Knicks for Randle, DiVicenzo and a protected 1st rounder from 2025. What do you think?

Woj and Lowe should start a basketball show together. The Kat trade is an upgrade fir the Knicks. They should be able to challenge Boston if healthy.

KAT has his issues but they’re not exactly giving up much for him. Knicks going all in this off season

Surprised with this trade. Given how close Minnesota were to making the Finals last year I thought they were going to let it ride for another season before making any significant moves. Also not sure if I like it from Knicks perspective.

Good move for the knicks

Don't understand it at all from Minny's pov

I'm sad, I enjoyed Towns a lot and he has been a great player for this franchise. I like DiVincenzo for this roster but I don't know about Randle though he can get buckets but this team needs 3s now that KAT is gone.
Now where the trade makes some sense is that the Wolves have NAW, Reid, McDaniels, Garza, Shannon Jr, Miller and Minott for the 2.5 to 4 positions, it improves the guard depth while opening a door for the younger players who have shown that they can score in their current smaller roles, hopefully someone can replace KAT.

My concern is Randle and Gobert on offense, in my mind that looks absolutely awful.

Edit: On a side a note, this trade could have a pretty big story line behind the scene because Glenn Taylor allegedly prevented KAT's trade in previous years including under Connelly. The fact that he sanctioned this, especially when the return isn't impressive could be a sign that he is himself leaving.

I think this is a great trade for the Knicks. After Brunsons emergence last season, making Randle a good fit was going to cause some headaches.

RIP Dikembe Mutombo. Brain cancer. Way too soon. Iconic player and a gentleman by all accounts.

Oh man. Way too young. Appeared to be such a great guy too from what I remember. Rest in peace.

It's so weird. During pretty much every seasons I used to try to find KAT centered trades but now I want him back. I know that it's not a good idea and that he had to be traded at some point but I don't like it.

Best basketball Youtube channel. Love it when he tears Bronny a new one.

Why though? Bronny hasn't actually done anything bad to anyone and basically died. Why would you love it? Sure he isn't very good but why would you get pleasure out of him tearing him a new one? Sure his tone is funny but its a weird thing to say

When people take shots at Bronny, they're really only doing it to take indirect shots at his Dad. It's patently obvious that the kid wouldn't have made it into the league if he wasn't LeBron James' son, so every time he plays poorly it's just another chance to point out that James senior used his clout to get his own way once again.

Not fair to Bronny, but at least he can always say he played in the NBA, whatever the reason.

I figured. The whole thing is a sham and I guess many are looking for opportunities to point this out, especially with all the lying Lebron, Pelinka and the media have told regarding why he is actually there. Its gonna be a theme all year as I feel he will struggle in the G-League. Its best to just get the ceremony out the way then forget about him and move on i.e. not post on ESPN every time he does something semi-good and let him develop quietly in the background like Pippen Jr

Got damn. Dalton Knecht with 35 points and 20 in the last quarter.

Not sure how this kid was drafted so low.

He was top 2 in my personal draft board. He and Sheppard were the best snipers in this class. If Sheppard was gone before our pick, I'd have take Knecht over every single player that went in the top 10. I think he dropped out of the lottery because of his age.

Are these Celtics a better 3 point shooting team than the peak warriors?

29/53 is bananas.

Nepotism in the NBA? Never existed pre Bronny! The kid is terrible but was a late second round pick to get LBJ to re up, worth it imo.

Because the NBA still looks are 4 year college players as having zero potential.

Undoubtedly they're a better shooting team overall. The peak Warriors had Draymond who you could help off of and limited shooting off the bench; when the Celtics have Porzingis they have 8 40%+ 3 point shooters. Unprecedented depth.

Before they pulled the starters they were 29/48 from 3. A lot of this was down to ruthlessly exploiting KAT and Bridges (who looked awful defensively) - Joe Mazzulla is a hell of a coach.

Next up Lebron gets Brownie James, his homemade brownie to be drafted in the Lakers and play alongside him

The hunt for banner 19 :p relies upon out-shooting everyone else… until crunch time in the playoffs, after the n-th brick from downtown, when the most needed hero ball will come from ……. signal lost ……. :wenger:

True, but its not called a world championship but NBA.

Doesnt matter.
Maybe we'll get a CL type format one day, but other leagues are miles away, would be more like the Club World Cup.

Everyone knows the winner of the CL is the best in the world.

Yes but they are CL winners not 'world champions'

Just classic American ignorance.

No, I know the CL doesn't declare the winner world champion. Maybe you could hold off on insults?

It's similar in that one region has all the best teams.

The NBA doesn't say the winner is world champion, so your beef seems to be with players or franchises that use the term.

The dislike of the term " World Series" makes more sense.

San Antonio Spurs have NBA Champions on their banners. It was heavily influenced by the likes of Ginobli and Parker speaking on this. Mavericks followed suit in 2011 heavily influenced by Dirk along with Cuban's mindset. At least these two got it right.

I've often found it odd that American sports leagues do this, and I was born and raised in Texas. It's always seemed bizarre to me, and doesn't matter if said league is the best league in the world.

Celtics lifted a world champion 2024 banner yesterday.
