NBA 2022-2023

That Gobert trade still goes down as one of the worst trades I've ever seen. I'm sure the Jazz wouldn't even trade Kessler for him straight up now.

It's an overstatement. In fact for me the Butler trade was far worse because it derailed the team completely while also taking away valuable assets. Gobert has been good and the depth of the Wolves hasn't been touched, in fact the Wolves started the season with a deeper team and only injuries derailed the season. The picks can be largely be won back with a Towns trade which looks more and more like the right move.

Each game in the playoffs, it’s getting more obvious that Monty is getting outcoached.

CP3 is clearly playing hurt and we have KD but somehow CP3 is attempting more shots than CP3

Clippers went small ball to go for 3s and we should have countered by going small ball and moving KD to the 5 since we weren’t planning on giving the ball to Ayton in the paint anyway.

CP3, Booker and KD averaging over 40 mins per game so far isn’t sustainable too, we really don’t need all 3 of them on the court at once unless it’s to close out a close game. Run more point Book and give more playing time to the likes of Warren/Lee/Okogie depending on whether we need more offense/defense.

We have one of the most productive bench in the regular season and Monty is just refusing to make full use of them.

We won’t make it to the finals if he doesn’t change anything, let alone getting a championship.

Just gonna put a link on here to this article, because it says it better than I ever could. I'll stand by my comment that it's an awful, awful trade, especially with the way Gobert performed this season, what his contract is, what you gave up for him, how Kessler has performed this season, and how Gobert in general has proven time and time again he's quite a moron who's disliked by a lot of people, teammates included.

Didn't expect the Hawks to take even one game from the Celtics. Great performance from Trae.

Pretty important win for the Suns considering how many minutes their stars are playing each game (and the fact that the Nuggets are 3-0 up). Not sure they can win it all with 5 players though. If I had to make a guess now... it would be no.

I wonder if any team will give Kawhi and PG a max contract from now on. Utterly unreliable in terms of health, even after resting both of them so many games.

Westbrook has played his heart out but has gotten no superstar support, must feel like he's been at OKC in those years after KD and before PG.

Awesome to see Russ play so well. Clippers would have had a real shot had just one of Kawhi or PG been healthy.

That’s Russ though, he’s at his best when there’s no other superstar and everything has to run through him because he only knows how to play at his own pace.

Bucks will get knocked out by Heat if Giannis doesn’t return in the series which seems quite likely at this point.

Yeah. I had the Bucks winning the whole thing but I can see them losing in 6

They will probably find another fool. Plenty of them in the NBA

The second sweep of the playoff is on its way. :(

Oh my, Curry misses two in a row. Kings with 10.5 seconds to win this thing now, let’s go.

Okay that was badly executed even though Barnes simply needs to score that. Best-of-3 now, hopefully the Kings respond well at home.

The screen from Barnes was weird as well. Made Fox go into an double team essentially with Draymond and Curry, the end 3 pointer looked rushed and never like going in.

Key plays from Draymond in the end though, the block on Sabonis and then assist to Wiggins.

Curry is just a more talented Brady. Lucky ass mfer.

The commentator spent a whole minute talking about the Kings playing like they haven’t been here before and Warriors have the experience. Literally as she’s saying it Steph calls for a timeout they don’t have giving the Kings a FT and a chance to win the game

He was just doing it for the TV audience to make it more exciting. :wenger:

Damn, I'm in a good mood. United win a penalty shoot out and the Dubs win a nail biter.

What more can you ask for?

Woohoo! Woohoo! Woohoo!

It was like poetry, like everything she was moaning about the Kings doing wrong ended up kinda almost working in the end. Like she was so upset about the Kings taking shots so early on the shot clock, then Fox swishes a 3 with something like 19 secs left on the shot clock making it a 1 pt game and she then was like ‘that’s exactly what they need to do’

Genuinely confused and would love for you to elaborate on this one

Both of them are all time greats in their sports based on talent and performance, and they are also their sports greatest winners.
However, they are, in my view, not the greatest players in their sports. In the NBA there is (should be) no debate over #1 (as a side note, it is interesting that the 2 sports with the smallest on field teams have undisputed #1’s, while the 2 more team oriented sports do not). In the NFL that can be up for more of a debate. I honestly have no problem with anyone saying he is #1, but for me he falls behind LT, Rice, and Brown.

Agreed re: Russell - obviously a pioneer and probably a top 5 player ever. For the life of me though, I cannot see how Brady isn't an even more indisputable #1 in football than MJ is in basketball. He's literally had 3 HoF careers, more rings than any franchise in the sport, owns more or less every conceivable record - he's up there with Gretzky for most ironclad case to be GOAT in their respective sports.

Agree to strongly, strongly, disagree. No judging, but did you see MJ play in real time? I was in my teens during his threepeat/baseball/threepeat years and there has never been, and will likely never be, an athlete that dominant over that period of time. He would have like won 8 straight titles if not for the break. He was an all time scorer and defender. He never lost a finals series. Ever.

Brady is an all time great QB, maybe the best ever, but he is not in my mind the greatest ever. Honestly, it’s LT or Brown for me. LT was the greatest defender I have ever seen and could single handedly shut down opposing offenses. Brown would likely own every NFL rushing record had he not retired at the peak of his career (29 and had won the MVP).

Yeah as a Rockets fan, that baseball break was the greatest decision MJ ever made. God bless him. Greatest athlete of all time.

While of course any GOAT debate is subjective and everyone has their own opinion on it, saying that LT or Brown are NFL GOATs is a far, far bolder claim than saying LeBron is the NBA GOAT. The former two aren't even in 99% of conversations for the best-ever NFL player - and while I appreciate that MJ truthers will argue that there isn't a debate on the NBA GOAT either, LeBron certainly has some arguments in favor of him (objectively speaking, from a stats, longevity, impact, marketability, ... point of view, basically any metric out there bar Finals wins).
