NBA 2021-2022

I swear Monty has a clause in his contract that Ayton's not allowed to get 30 points.

We keep icing him out everytime he has a great offensive game. We're shooting 4/26 from 3s and DA hit his only attempt....

Fellow Suns fan here, been supporting Phoenix since 2013 and it’s been a long ride but it’s good to finally be a contender, albeit it depends on Books recovery.

Ive never seen anything like CP3’s ability to close a game, done it time and time again. Worried about putting too much mileage on his legs over the next 3-4 games before Booker is ready to go. We need Cam Payne to step up big time like he did last post season when CP3 is having a break.

I've always maintained that Ayton has the highest ceiling on the roster and if we can unlock and make him go 100% every game, he'll be a MVP candidate.
His touch around the paint is so smooth. I think to make that step up it’s all about getting slightly stronger defensively. He already is really good on that end but he has the potential to be a 1st team all defensive player with his ability to stay with perimeter players whilst also holding his own against the likes of Embiid and Jokic.

He has all the tools offensively but he does sacrifice his own stats for the betterment of the team and hopefully they give him his contract and keep him in Phoenix for the foreseeable future.

Did Draymond really say that McCollum and Ingram are better players than Chris Paul? You never know where his trashtalking/gamesmanship becomes plain dumbness, in case.

Ingram is currently better than Paul. Putting CJ in there is nuts though

Mmmm. Not so sure i agree with that, but it's not impossible i guess. Needs to go from very good to game-changing defensively and learn to create his own shot consistently to reach that level. I still think picking him #1 overall in a draft with Luka and Trae was insane. But obviously it's worked out well enough for the Suns

Big free throws missed by Powell in the end cost Dallas the game, great double team by Utah on Luka as well (who seemed to clinch the match with that clutch three with 40 seconds left).

Real test for Dallas on whether they can take advantage of home court and win the series. They've always seemed soft mentally.

@charlton66 what are the odds of Warriors playing a home game in Chase Center on 4/5 May? Pretty realistic if Memphis win in 5 or 6, right?

If the Grizz/Wolves series goes 5 and the Grizzlies win,, then game 1 of the Grizz/Dubs series would probably be April 29th. (Same day as game 6 is scheduled if Grizz/Wolves goes 6). This would mean that game 2 would be either May 1st/2nd and game 3 would be May 3rd/4th/5th. If Grizz/Wolves goes 6, you're probably out of luck. Game 1 would probably be May 1st/2nd and game 2 May 3rd/4th/5th. It's not impossible you could still make it if the first 3 games only have 2 days between each one, but more than likely there'll be at least 1 of them with a three day interval and that would put you at May 6th at the earliest.

Nets have been ass, not sure how they are still in the game. Beautiful defense by boston though. I think boston might be ready for championship.

This series is going to be a massive dent to KD’s reputation
If you think losing in Round 1 is going to hurt, imagine the hit he'll take if the Dubs go on and win another title without him.

Ultimately proved inconsequential but Memphis nailed those last 2 threes. Would have been crazy if that buzzer beater sent it to OT

Whoever knocks the Grizzlies out is going to deserve it. Those guys just don't quit.

That assumes they actually don't go on and win it.

Indeed. A ball ache to put away.

Meanwhile, I’m trying to find it again, there is a comment on a YouTube video of the Gobert alley oop I saw earlier that read “crazy how Mitchell set up this play by not passing to him for the entire season “

The Warriors must be licking their lips at the moment…

Book injured
Luka not looking 100%
Utah looking dysfunctional
Wolves and Grizzlies are playing such physically taxing games and their players will be worse for it after.

Whilst GSW is just cruising.

Mavs really bottled it. It was also one of the worst basketball games I've ever watched, the refs turned it into a shitshow.

I love seeing a super team project fail.

My rotten luck, no chance anymore. Maybe a very tiny one to catch a game in Phoenix but with how both their and Mavs v Jazz series are looking they will probably not be playing game 1 of their series before I get there either. Actually if Suns v Pelicans go 7 then the 7th game would fall exactly on the date when I’m in Flagstaff so could go to Phoenix… but it probably won’t go 7.

Who could have possibly seen this coming
But they have KD and Kyrie!

I have to admit though I got myself pulled into the hype, and thought they would either beat Celtics or at very least make it a long series.

Assuming that they are hopefully swept, where the Nets go from there? Do they trade their stars and rebuild the normal way or do they persist and we all have a laugh for a few years?

No way they trade Durant and both him and Kyrie have been on record saying they want to play together for a long time. Kyrie‘s contract expires next year and it would be better for them to not extend it as he is unreliable but they may lose KD at the same time.

I reckon they will just change the coach and come back with similar roster next year. Simmons might return if he feels like playing basketball again (I wouldn’t be sure about it) and they will have to see what they look like with him integrated. In theory he could add a lot on defense and could give them another dimension offensively with his playmaking. The biggest issue is his availability as he just doesn’t want to play (there have been rumors about him returning for Game 4 but not sure he will want to be part of a potential sweep).

Was so wrong about Nets. Unreal defense on KD in this series, Celtics made him look completely ordinary.

He didn't win before he got to the Warriors, he won't win now he's left the Warriors.

Schadenfraude - you gotta love it.

It’s the claim that KD is unguardable is the one falling apart quickly with this series.

This was always used to justify why Steph would be double teamed in the playoffs when KD wasn’t.
