NBA 2021-2022

Ugly performance from the 76ers today with what can be said is their full-strength team.

Pretty embarrassing for Philly. Also, another poor performance in a big game to add to Harden's legacy.

Interesting stat I saw from reddit.

Nuggets defensive rating is only 0.4 lower than the Nuggets despite Embiid's reputation for being one of the best defender in the league while Jokic is derided as a sieve on defense.

Jokic has been a good defender this season. Leads all bigs in steals and tipped/deflected passes. Obviously he has the three plus game winning blocks too.

Unsurprisingly he's a cerebral defender and seems to anticipate the opposition plays.

Good win for GSW, Denver ran out of fuel in the last part, guess 4 games in 5 days can do that do you. Jokic with his 0/100 3s attempts, most of them were decently clean, some were weird.

The defense seems to have gotten back on track the last couple of games. It needs to continue for the Dubs to keep winning.

Why Jokic even thinks about shooting 3s against the Warriors is beyond me. He is so overpowering against the smaller Dubs defense it just makes no sense.

Probably settling for them if he was fatigued. Unless it is something he does regularly against the Warriors? Then I have no idea.

Probably because nobody can get him the ball in the paint and it's exhausting for him to drive all game.

Well usualy he takes a lot of 3s when he feels tired i guess and thats the weird part, more often than not, he misses them more when he feels tired. Also they cant get him ball down low right away so he just fights for 10 sec and then they finally give him the ball around 5-7 sec before clock runs out.

Its actually funny seeing his arms and around neck area at the end of game, scratch/claw like marks, its like he forgot a safe word or something.

He's been touted as Maple Jordan going into his draft!

Edit: Whoops, @elmo already cleared that up.
Yea my thinking was backwards on that point. I should have joined the line of the earliest iteration of Maple Jordan is the strongest point. For some reason I was approaching from no matter how close you (not “you” you) get to being right timeline wise you’re still wrong. I’m on a 70 hour work week so my brain is mush, apologies

95.7 were saying last night after the game in the last 5 minutes of the 3rd and 4th Q Steph outscored the nuggets 21-11. I didn’t double check that mind

re the 3s I did some looking. When nuggets beat us in December in that stupid game he went 0-5. When they beat us in February in the last second in that other stupid game he went 3-5. The other night he didn’t shoot any. Last night 0-8. Total of 3-18.

going to the wizards game in 2 weeks, can’t wait. Hoping Draymond is back.

Man, feck work... thank god it's friday and the Mavs play at acceptable times both today and tomorrow
NB: It's nuts to me that Wiggins has been in the league for 8 years

Jokic has quietly been a great RS defender these past 2 seasons. It's in the playoffs, when teams start hunting him in the PnR that he struggles badly

What an odd game. Can't complain about the win, just very surprised how it happened.

Steph was odd but very good shooting from Klay and Poole. First game for me at the Chase center.

What a dumb foul by Luka :wenger:

Edit: they changed the call!!!

KD on fire today against the Knicks with 52pts. Injuries really have not been kind to us this season. I think we'd be right up there in the East if they'd have been kinder and also if Kyrie could actually play home matches.

If we can get all our players back we could be a nasty opponent in the playoffs.

I understood why they changed it, the ball was out of the hand before Luka touched it (though just!).

Spencer has been great at Dallas, though that will normalize as he's shooting above 50% right now.

It's a textbook "high five", there's actually a rule about why that isn't a foul. Today I learned.

Immense win for the Mavericks, that Boston team is amazing right now. The first quarter was a great and disgusting display of good team defense and awful three point shooting from both sides, the Mavericks suddenly thought it was 2017 and put in the tank lineup of Luka-Burke-Brown-Green-Maxi in the 2nd, a great offensive display by Luka in the third, tight fourth. What a great game to have on this early in the evening.

Managed to catch the Brooklyn/NY game as it was early in the US.
KD is just a sublime player, a 50 piece that semeed so effortless, it was beautiful to watch.
I don't get these regulations, Kyrie can stay in the arena, without a mask, without a vaccine but cannot play ?? Where is the logic ?

In other news, the Celtic big 3 have finally made up officially

I've been distracted by Chelsea nonsense, but I've been meaning to talk about Jalen Green hanging 32 points on the Lakers

Who'd have thought that all a young stud like Green needed was time to grow into the league. Crazy idea.

Christ almighty, ESPN really know how to ruin a Denver vs 76ers game, few minutes in and i am already annoyed by commentators.

47 points from Steph today. Nice way to celebrate his 34th birthday. Great to have Draymond back too. Hopefully starting to come into some form

Jokic with the clutch defensive play on Embiid, followed by the ridiculous circus shot despite being fouled to ice the game. He's unbelievable.

He's been unlucky in that the rest of his class have been really, really good. But he's showed a lot of great flashes lately and looks like he is starting to put it together. This draft class will go down as one of the best.

I see how it is. No mention of KAT's 60 points game. :nono:

He struggled early in the season and a lot of people were really down on him talking about we should have taken Mobley or someone else.

We go through the same process every season - players get drafted, those who don't hit the ground running are immediately labelled busts, the slow starters eventually find their feet and people realise development isn't a linear process. Rinse, repeat.
