NBA 2020-2021

He was incredible but this is so unbelievably frustrating and it’s not the first time. CJ especially was beyond ridiculous in crucial moments, amateur stuff. We can still force game 7 but when we can’t even win on the back of such performance it’s going to be almost impossible to win two in a row. Shame because Lakers will probably not be there and we would have a shot against the Suns (who would still be favored but more beatable than Lakers that we couldn’t touch with this team construction).

I didn't realize you were a Blazers fan, and I'd imagine you're frustrated because as you put it, this was a good chance to get to the conference finals (if the a Suns team with a hobbled Chris Paul is what awaits in the conference semis) and if you can't win with Lillard going 17-24 from the field and 12-17 from 3, then something is wrong.

Some horrible execution down the stretch, including the missed dunk. It'll still be a performance to remember but obviously would have been much more memorable had Portland won.

Time to start the Dame to the Lakers hype. On a serious note though this is probably the best guard play in the NBA has ever been. Steph, Harden, Dame, Trae, Luka, Fox, Booker, Kylie etc

Well like someone said, team bailed Dame last game, same goes for Jokic if Denver won that game. Tonights game, some stupid decisions from both sides were on another level. MPJ has one of worst/weirdest handling, its like he has baby hands or some shit, fecking hell.

Great game overall, Dame with his thing, Jokic pass to MPJ over someone ( dont remember who it was, it broke his ankles ) for 140:143 etc.

Lakers are done by the way. AD will come back for game 6 but won't be fit or will reinjure during the game.

I think most Laker fans are ok with one chip from the LeBron era. 2 years to go. One more will be tough with our current roster set up. Better to go out now than get wrecked by Brooklyn in the finals. More rest for AD and LeBron. All that said though, as unlikely as it is we still have a chance.

Mathematically yeah, but the Suns are just a better team right now and we can't overcome that without a fully healthy Davis (and James, for that matter). That short of an offseason has pretty much wrecked our chances at a repeat especially with an injury prone star like AD. I don't know what his ans LeBron's plans are for Summer but I really hope they aren't going to the Olympics but rather completely heal up and reload for next season. This squad is good enough overall to compete with anyone in the league on full strength, including the Nets.

That has to be one of the best shooting nights ever? Was obscene how Dame kept impossibly keeping them in it only for RoCo to blow two dunks.

LeBron will play the Olympic if it's not canceled. It's his only chance to beat MJ in something and it'll serve as the publicity for Space Jam 2.

fecking Covington (and CJ in the end).

Dame had arguably the best playoff performance I can remember.

Also trying solo to defend Dame in those moments, making decision not to foul him is just dumb imo

They count for nothing, the USA win by default if they send half a decent team. I couldn't take anyone serious if they bring up Olympic titles in a LeBron vs MJ debate.

As much as that dumb loss hurt last night, Denver losing Murray changed the season. They would IMO be huge favourites to win the West now with him healthy and could run anyone from the East close in the Finals.

They got embarrassed during the last international competition though. Team USA will make sure to send a strong team instead of the third stringers.

They didn't look like the team you think they are even when he was fit.

Celtics will be looking for a new head coach, Brad Stevens been made President of basketball operations.

See Lebron giving up on his team after the Dennis shit show(it happens, we can't all have a ridiculous 48978678278 game streak of 10+ points).... Jordan would never.

Lakers in 7 still.

They hit top form after he went out but it's hard to deny he'd be a great asset in the playoffs looking at how he performed at a big stage last year. Rivers and Campazzo are not on the same planet.

Everyone is mad at Covington but CJ and Nurk were the biggest letdowns. Covington made some crucial plays towards the end which kept us in the game.

He'd improve them obviously but not enough for them to be heavy favorites. Nothing they do defensively is convincing with or without him.

Lakers are going home. Without AD out there Crowder is able to focus his efforts on dealing with LeBron and without him consistently collapsing the defence, Lakers' shooters have no chance. This is a wrap.

We have shooters?

I was thinking about that while watching the game. The Lakers when fit are a nightmare for most teams, they are stingy on defense and big in the paint but everything on offense everything relies on AD being bigger and faster than pretty any other PF/C and also Lebron being Lebron. Outside of these two the team doesn't have outside shooters or guards that are able to drive into the paint and seek layups.

Do they have a way to fix these issues in the offseason? And how are they supposed to be respectably good without Lebron?

Sign and trade Schroder is the only option for a big move, which obviously has plenty of moving parts that could become stuck.

Drummed, Trezz, THT and Caruso all could leave this year too, one way or the other.

What kind of contract would he command? If it is a midsize contract than he should interest a lot of team, I would like to see him with the Wolves.

Well he would command a max, apparently. But his play definitely does not. Think he turned down an $84m over 4 years deal earlier this season, which I think he'll end up regretting.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a slightly inflated deal for Schroder to trade for a better contract/player in the off-season.

Dame is pure, absolute nonsense

And I hope he wins a title for portland

 He was immense today, Simmons too.

But, the Embiid news overshadows everything sadly - no Embiid, no party :(
Just hoping it's something that will heal with just rest.

I'm glad they're playing the Hawks though cause if it was the Bucks or the Nets and Embiid is not 100% I think its game over. This next series (if they can come through it) at least gives him time to recover before they have to face the real tests.
