NBA 2020-2021

In fairness to the Clippers, they are playing against the best player in the game. Not sure what they can do.
Well considering they "tanked" in the final 2 games for that privilege, surely they believed they could handle him.

Nah, the mavs win this series in 6

They just need the supporting cast to show up twice more, Clippers have given up entirely on Luka

True, seems like they are content with him having big nights provided he doesn't get the others going. Its going to end in tears.

Pretty sure they tanked to rest players, we all know how precious one of their stars is about load management.

Payne. Payton is the disaster playing 5 minutes a game for the Knicks now. Funny how they are literally using him to soak up the first 5 minutes so that Rose doesn't have to play too much.

Knicks v Hawks by far the most interesting series for me so far. Going to stay up tonight to watch it.
I was auto corrected to this.
It was of course ment to be Ayton.

No, no, no, no! Gotta give credit where credit's due. They tanked purely and simply to lose and avoid the Lakers. Rest was just a bonus. Of their 5 starters against Dallas last night, Leonard, George and Morris didn't play against OKC. Zubac played 6 seconds so that he could say he played in every game and Reggie Jackson played 7 minutes but hit 2 threes in that time so they yanked his ass. This removal of players who were putting up decent numbers continued throughout until they got to a point in the 4th quarter where the only proviso for staying in the game it seemed was that you had to have taken more shots than scored points. Patterson was 4-11 with 10 points, Scrubb was 7-17 with 14 points, Kennard was 6-14 with 13 points and the "star" of the show was Daniel Oturu who managed to go 5-21 with 13 points. The fifth player Yogi Ferrell I think was only out there because you have to play 5 and even though he had 14 points on 12 shots they just told him to keep taking 3s to minimize his chance of actually putting the ball in the hoop.

.....and even then they couldn't seem to lose. So at that point in the last minute of the game with the score 112-110 OKC they started running plays for just Patterson and Oturu thinking this would get them home. But lo and behold, even with Patterson shooting a solid 30% from the field he then went and made the damn shot with an assist from Oturu. However, all was not lost for the Clippers. Fortunately for them, Pokusevski came to the rescue hitting a three to put OKC up 115-112.

.....and then Ty Lue played his trump card, his masterstroke - he gave it to Daniel. Not taking any chances though he had him shoot a long 2 just in case the unthinkable happened and it went in to tie the game. Oturu of course missed and after some pitiful defense allowing Brown to dunk the ball to finish them off the Clippers were home.

2-0 down, the next goal, sorry, game is the most important. It's a proper series now and I expect the Clippers to go and win it in 7.

I’m watching Nets - Celtics, start of the 4th. Boston are winning but Harden has 36 points and 10 assists from just 15 shots. Not bad efficiency that.

If any of you have an interest in what happened to Kwame Brown at Washington, some of his former teammates talked about it a few days ago.

Jokic vs Dame, they having their own competition who will have lower FGs %

Bucks about to go into a playoff series as an underdog for the first time in their true window years.... wonder if having that massive favourite tag off their backs will help, mind you, it's still the utterly absurd Nets they are playing, but Bucks depth is looking good. I'd love it.

Blazers are smashing up the Nuggets too.... bad for my trading.

Bucks will have a few days extra rest, and have really been amazing these playoffs so far. I was among those who felt they were silly playing strongest team against Heat in regular season and getting them in the playoffs as a result but this turned out to have been an amazing decision. Not only did they comfortably annihilate Heat, they got a morale boost they very much needed.

Only shame they went on to win the other 3 games so easily after going to OT in Game 1 where I’d have won £250 had they won in regular time.

Meh. This team isn’t going to go far with Stotts. I’d rather we just lost and got rid of him already.

Dame will never allow him to leave anyway. May as well enjoy the limited success we can have.

Bucks - Nets is going to be a great series. Can see Bucks causing an upset.

Trae Young is a cross between steve nash, steph and harden. Ridiculously entertaining player

The knicks have absolutely no answer for Trae. This series is done

Knicks can't keep up with Hawks scoring, let alone their active defense. They have to ride the support of The Garden and keep the game close when 1st units are playing, then try to go on runs when Trae sits. But Atlanta have a very good rotation going and are dominating Randle.

AD is such a little bitch.

One of these day, he's going to injure himself for real with how often he keeps pretending he got injured.

I'm not overly certain how LeBron can improve everything..... except his free throw, continually baffles me.

Suns blowing up. Paul's doing fecking wonders with half a recovering shoulder to keep them alive thankfully. Kind of performance that'll be forgotten with him if they don't win the series.

Lakers are being awful and LeBron has been meh tonight.
I don't know if he's not 100% or if age is finally catching up with him but so far in this series we're not really seeing "playoff Lebron." His numbers are decent but unless he shows something like his old self I don't think the Lakers have much chance of repeating.

Suns continue to underperform from 3 pt range. Reckon they can get one more game in this series if they start to convert at a more normal percentage.

Yep, it seems that finally, he is not the best player in the league, especially with Durant, Kawhi, Jokic and Giannis putting monstrous performances every night.

It's pretty obvious he isn't 100% after the ankle injury, IMO. He probably has lost a step and is no longer the best player, but it's hard to really know because he definitely isn't playing without some discomfort.

High ankle sprain at the end of March and he even said himself he didn't feel like he'd be back (ever or right now) at 100% again so obviously that's still bothering / limiting him. Not the kind of injury that immediately sees you back at the top of your game, especially at his age.

Best of 3 series now, it's a coin toss who has the advantage at the moment.

If Ad doesn't play then phoenix should win I think.
It has really gone from ‘Phoenix can’t win if Paul isn’t healthy’ to ‘Lakers can’t win if Davis isn’t healthy’ over the course of one game. I agree though, if Davis isn’t at least 80% Suns will get it.

fecking mavs :o
Cuban will have to sign someone major to keep Luka there in next few years. Nice organisation, good coach but player like him ahould challenge every year and with things how they are he will only have a one, maybe 2 chances with Mavs assuming he stays.

Edit: if he leaves just hope he wont go spineless route and join a super team.

Honestly, the sheer amount of series altering injuries we've seen in recent years should really make the NBA think about changing things

Brown and Murray out for the season, CP3 injured, AD injured, Luka injured, last season it was Giannis, before was KD, etc...
