NBA 2020-2021

PG was -18. That is not great.

I agree Kawhi can not fight through screens (not threw, my bad ) and put up 40 points. They're just not as good as everybody thinks, even though on paper they have a great team.
And Kawhi was -7. Luka was +3

PG was good last night. So was Kawhi. And the mavs shot 54% on FT. Those are scary things for the clippers. They need to come up with a better defensive gameplan, because Doncic is killing them and when he isn't then someone else is(often because he's either wide open or the defence is breaking down)

Also the mavs are now like 29-0 when they lead after the 1st Qtr. Clippers might want to start stronger from now on...

I'm buying a green Doncic shirt if they eliminate the Clippers. How lovely would that be.

If Leonard and George dont start fighting through screens while guarding Luka they might as well pack it in. No one else on that roster has even a chance of bothering him. He also gives them some work but not to the extent he gives the Jacksons and Beverly's of this world.

Brookly were really good. The big 3 demolished Boston without even particularly trying. Gives me a bit of Miami feeling where on they day, they can be so good without even trying.

Gotta hope Philly take them out cause they'd be a bad match up for the Lakers. Too much scoring.
Too much scoring sounds like an issue for any side to face tbf. ;)

I’d be more focused on the Bucks than Philly in the East. Bucks/ Nets are the two best teams I’ve seen in the play-offs (though I haven’t seen anything from the Mavs/Clippers).

This also forgets to point out.... Kawhi's a free agent this summer too somehow. If was on a longer contract, they could of actually got a lot of the rebuild picks back for him, but my god, NBA in a nutshell really, sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't.

Where does he go?

Or does he stay with the Clips simply based on a larger salary available?

I'm not convinced he's a salary chaser.... both his ex teams are options as I think they have big contracts expiring. Either way, 2022 is lining up to be monumental for free agents, Curry will probably cut his salary to bring someone in then, so signs for a year and goes there?

Mavs have the cap space, Knicks, Heat, Warriors

One of those probably. Heat or Warriors if i had to bet

Luka, Kawhi, and Unicorn sounds dreamy. Or better off shipping Porzingis for something?
They should imo, but i don't see how, so they won't. Don't think Kawhi's going there anyways unless Doncic goes on a monster tear through the playoffs

Does anyone take Skip Bayless seriously? I love to watch him and Shannon from time to time but purely for comedy reasons so im curious, does anyone actually think he knows anything?

The trouble with Bayless like most pundits is that they're not really interested in actual facts but have their own agendas and usually opine based on these. For instance, Bayless loves Michael Jordan and since Lebron is seen as a possible in the GOAT conversation, no matter what James does he's going to get criticism from Bayless. Now KD, on the other hand has never been mentioned as a rival to Jordan as GOAT but has been touted as possibly the best player today. So Bayless loves him and repeatedly mentions how Durant beat Lebron in 2 finals. At the same time, because he wants to build up KD at Lebron's expense he's got to hate on Steph Curry in order to maximize KD's impact in those finals.
....and so it goes. Everything he says has usually got an ulterior motive behind it. Nothing to do with knowledge or actual analysis at all, purely clicks, viewers and contoversy to try and pick up both.

He can know his stuff and talk about it, but that's obviously not the point of him and Shannon. He actively ignores himself and any decent facts just to be different and divisive, which is then spoken about throughout the ESPN platforms throughout the day(s), then repeated again for different topics.

Ask him to write or moderate something with intellect, and he could do it because he has it in him, but he's a talking head for the wrong reasons.

Lakers.

It's the ultimate Clippers moment. They traded away their future to get PG because Kawhi wants him and he walks to the Lakers to win a ring after doing feck all for the Clippers.

Aren't the Heat an option for Leonard? They were making room for Giannis.

Yeah, Bayless - like SAS and many others - plays a character.

Cheers boys for the response.
Obviously im aware he plays the character a lot but i also feel he wouldnt be able to be as successful at it if he didnt believe 90% of what he is saying.

Maybe you're being tongue in cheek but even if somehow the finances could work, it'd never happen. Not after the ad, calling it his city, the keyring. Not after meeting with the Lakers and playing them along until the last second and then signing for the Clips.

The Clippers are caught between a rock and a hard place if Kawhi decides to decline his player option. Just like KD was originally going to do with the Dubs he could leave for nothing. In that case their best scenario is to try and convince him to do a sign and trade. That does have the disadvantage of hard capping them but at least they would get something in return.

As to where he might end up. It appears from everything I've read that his most likely destination would be either the Heat or the Warriors.

PG will lead them to glory anyway.

Might be possible, but that would also mean Clips would have a much better squad than they currently have.

They have no quality big who can either protect the rim/defend multiple positions/iso pick n roll, obviously no true point guard or scoring guard, which would then optimize a PG or Kawhi as a stretch forward who can defend.

Does that mean the Heat won't sign Oladipo after trading for him? Can't see them affording Adebayo, Butler, Kawhi and Victor.

Am joking. Don't rate him much and better supporting cast or not, he ain't leading no one to the title.

So we had a moron throw popcorn at Russ and another spit on Trae yesterday

NBA needs to get Metta World Peace Sandiford-Artest in every building from now on

Spitting is clearly disgusting. Popcorn is bad too. I was reading an article though talking about previous bans and apparently just saying the f u biatch or flipping the bird at a player is enough to get you kicked out. Kind of crazy when you think of the stuff footballers go through.

Even simple insults like that should get you kicked out imo. If it's not ok to say to a person on the street it's not ok to say to a player.

Kawhi to Golden State would be such a Kawhi move.

Oladipo is out for most of next season and hasn’t shown anything to suggest he’s worth more than mid level exception and maybe not even that. He’s going to get a minimum next year to try and prove his value in the limited time he will be able to play for.

Heat won’t have full max but will be quite close.

If Kawhi decides to go to the Heat, the Clippers are screwed because by not picking up the team options for Iggy and Dragic and also not bringing Oladipo back Miami can open up enough cap space for a max contract and wouldn't need to go through a sign and trade. It is possible that the Clippers could try and do what the Warriors did with KD and try and negotiate with the Heat to go through the sign and trade option (that's how the Dubs got D'Angelo Russell from the Nets) but it cost the Warriors a first round draft pick to get the Nets to agree and the Clippers don't really have any 1st rounders for quite a while.

It's a tad difficult when the MSG crowd was saying feck You Trae, and nobody said anything about it on the broadcast or post game

Miami are toast, Butler cant do anything with the Greek freak which means he cant affect the momentum of the game.

It's a tricky thing tbh. There have been plenty of chants in football that are way worse than a feck you(Posh spice takes it up the arse for eg). On one hand I do like the concept of don't say it if you wouldn't say it to their face but imagine the abuse for eg scousers would give G nev readily to his face. The middle fingers would be extremely mild by comparison.
