NBA 2020-2021

How randomly hated is Giannis? Bit odd..... by a fandom that ripped the shit out of LeBron and Durant running away from their statuses as superstar leaders. I don't get it, the guy can't win (literally...).

Great game to get us off though, let's hope someone can pull something off and give the overpowered Nets-Lakers a good series.

I love Giannis and I want the Bucks to win the East. It is strange though how he can still refuse to address the issues with his game.

Got a feeling these are going to be amazing playoffs.

Am i the only one that doesnt see anything special in Porzingis? Good player but nothing more, second star my ass

Playoff P in the hizzouse.

Too early I know but I'll take any chance I can to shit on Clips.

He's a 7 foot 3 three pointer shooter. It's embrassing to see a guy of his size and shooting finesse stand 3 feet behind the line all the time. I blame the Mavs management and their obsession over 3 point shots.

You would imagine him being a potentially great mid range shooter like Nowtizki/Garnett/Duncan were.

He’s fine but nothing special. He’s actually got worse as a defender since his Knicks days, doesn’t really offer much in the paint, isn’t a playmaker, doesn’t rebound particularly well. Basically a good spot up shooter with size.

Hardaway was actually the better part of that Knicks deal.

Doncic will need to play 90% of every game if they want to stand any chance....

Pandemic P and Kawhi back at it.

Paul George was pretty great in the second half, especially the fourth. The difference between Mavs and Clips today was the immense support Doncic got from Hardaway, Finney-Smith and Brunson in that fourth quarter, while the Clips supporting cast didn't do well.

Luka was amazing in the first three quarters, Clips then suffocated him in the fourth but he patiently distributed to his teammates and they made big big shots. Great team performance and leadership by Doncic.

Giannis is not Ben Simmons. He's not refusing to address anything, he just hasn't gotten very good yet, and maybe never will. But not for lack of trying

Two close dramatic games to start off these playoffs. Luka the best player on the court against the clippers, Kawhi needs to step up and change that or the clippers will lose this series

I think he’s fine as a three point shooter the way he is. He doesn’t have to be a 38% shooter, just capable of knocking them down every now and again so he has to be guarded. Shooting 50% from free throws in crucial moments is something I cannot wrap my head around though, this is the basic skill that he has to have or else he becomes a liability towards the end of game.

He also needs a go to move around the post, he can’t always get through on sheer power but that’s another issue.

Not convinced by Nets. They have 3 top 10
players but they are playing too much in isolation. Durant and Kyrie had 1 assist each, which is criminal.

They have the best 3 iso scorers in the league. They'll be fine, so long as they're healthy

Great win to get the home court back from Denver in the first game already. It seems like the key to the series is just relying on players other than Jokic and Porter not going off for 20+. They both got their points last night and were still way too short but they had Campazzo and Rivers starting there and playing 30+ minutes each.

Can't see how Denver contain Lillard enough to win the series.

Westbrook has been so bad tonight. They went on a good run when he went off, now back to being crap after he’s come back.

How can Simmons possibly be this bad at shooting a basketball? 0-6 FT by a non-center is almost unfathomably bad.

Watching Ben play defence is a spectacle though. Absolute destroyer

Lakers defence that won the title last season looks absolutely horrendous. This team ain't winning shit this year with this defensive performance.

Suns putting the hammer down here.... but the joy of NBA is that a 15pt lead in the third means nothing to me

How the hell does Paul play more or less an entire season fine as dandy, then gets an injury in game 1 of the playoffs.

Let's fecking go!

Refs didn't even bother to hide how one sided they called the game and it still didn't matter.

LeBron looks like he's still nowhere near healthy and he's not driving into the paint much. AD playing like he has already given up the game and Vogel not playing Gasol to slow Ayton in the paint is a sackable offense.

Ayton, Booker, Cam and Mikal were all excellent today and it's hard to believe it's all their first game in the playoffs. Cam and Mikal slowed LeBron on the offensive end while Ayton dominated the paint on both ends and Booker was doing Booker stuff all night long.
Gotta hope CP3 is alright, can't wait for game 2!

Lakers ain't winning shit with this offence either. Davis looks half the man he was last season.

Caruso got a tech for poking the ball out of Cam's hand after Cam had shoved him. Such one sided refereeing.

Lakers haven't looked great all season and was disingenuous to think they'll just turn it on in the playoffs. LeBron hasn't looked healthy in a while and AD just isn't being aggressive enough consistently. And they're the only 2 reasons we could make the finals.

This is literally the dumbest take on the situation, especially considering they did eject Payne.

Lakers still rated #1 defense in the league this season according to the commentators. Not sure if that's based on efficiency or PPG though.

I don't think the Suns even played as well as they can. Doubt AD will continue to be slowed down like today but the Suns still have another gear to reach on the offensive end

I refuse to believe a player that entered the draft as a #15 pick, and has won 2 MVP and a DPOY, refuses to improve himself.

I think it's more likely that this is who he is, despite all the hard work he has done since he's come into the NBA. And he needs a coach that can design plays that get the best out of him and his teammates.

Jrue is an upgrade on Bledsoe, but I'm starting to think this team will go as far as their coach will take them.

Is it literally the dumbest take is it?

Payne got techs for shoving another player (correct) and throwing a ball at a player (correct). There's no rule that says things need to be evened out is there?

Edit: anyway the point is this boring rhetoric that refs keep favouring the Lakers, or any team really. The dumbest take is people believing that.

No surprise a Lakers fan would think the refs didn't favour them.

It's not like the ref gave them a 17-0 free throw disparity in the first half which was the only reason they were still in he game in the first place.

Both Caruso and Harrell deserved their techs, thinking otherwise just means you are biased.

 ya you have to be really delusional to think the refs were against the Lakers today!

Harrell 100% yes. Especially as he came into it with momentum. I don't really see what Caruso's was for. It just felt like Payne's getting one so Caruso will as well.

Either way, not sure how anyone is sitting there saying the refs did everything they could to help the Lakers.
