NBA 2018-2019

It's fascinating to watch their fans defend this and act all condescending like they are actually going to have competition.

I'd like to know how long they've been fans of GSW, and whether they could name a single player prior to the Steph Curry era.

What is there to defend ? You are acting like they bought their way to success or something.
That's not what I said, they have 5 starting all strars, they've started with Klay, Steph, and Dray, and everyone would've been fine if they built their team around those 3 superstars, instead they go get KD and Cousins.

Yeah, they shouldn't have improved their team when they could in order to appease some people who would have disliked them anyway.

Boogie back to 100% is great for the league, no matter what anyone says. He's awesome and the league is better off with him being a star. He won't be on the warriors next season, and what's the difference between 16-3 and 16-0 anyways

So when cousins became available to them they should have said no because they had 4 all stars ? Yeah that makes sense

LeBron impact on his teams are really amazing. Time for me to admit it.
I think the media are going overboard about what is happening in Los Angeles. LeBron has missed 12 games, of which they are 5-7. Since the entire team is built around him it's hardly surprising the Lakers would struggle making an adjustment without him and they did going 1-5 in their first six games. However they are 4-2 in their last six and if they didn't have that brain fart versus the Cavs they'd be 5-1. Their only other loss in those last six games is at Utah which with or without LeBron can be a tough place to go. This Lakers team is not Cleveland. Without LBJ the Cavs really sucked. This Lakers team has potential especially if Brandon Ingram will get his finger out.

The first thought after I have is how well managed the GSW are tbh. It's so impressive really

Kind of. They're well run but it took an unbelievable amount of good fortune and dumb luck to get into the position they have.

Indeed. Even Curry’s injuries early into his career prevented him from getting a max contract before which would have made Durant signing impossible. Not to mention if $24million cap increase was spread over several years rather than given to clubs at once in 2016 it wouldn’t have happened either.

BTW it came out recently that Warriors wanted to trade Curry instead of Ellis for Bogut initially but Milwaukee weren’t interested because of his injury issues. Not sure if true.

Depends on who you believe about Curry and the Bucks. Larry Riley, the Dubs GM at the time said over a year ago that he always wanted to trade Monta Ellis but dangling Curry as possible trade bait was the only way to get the Bucks to the table. Once he had achieved that (according to him) he immediately switched the discussion back to Monta.

Faried is short for a PF, he is way too short for a C. But he should be able to help on the boards and can hammer down layups from PnR's with Harden

The Joker with another triple double off under 30 minutes. 12 assists with only 1 TO.

Didn't think they are in Cavs bad shape, but when they hit form at one point of the season they genuinely looked like 3rd or 4th best team in the West. They also wouldn't be in the play-off without him, having great potential or not.
We all know they are not quite ready yet and the next season would be the one in which they will probably try to use LeBron impact to full potential with another star.

Never get this hate for GSW btw and I am not even their fan. They already built incredible team without Durant and Boogie (which was also a massive risk for any team). But no, they should have skip both to give more chance to other teams. Yeah, like any team would do in their position.

Exactly. You can't blame them for signing them and you can't blame the players for joining. They are in the business of winning, not making friends.

Not sure about whether they'd be out of the playoffs or not without LeBron. They are playing very well at the moment and were very unfortunate not to come away with a victory once again last night. The problem they have is experience or more specifically lack of it. Once the game went into overtime last night the Rockets shot 16 free throws. Everybody knows what Houston try to do and sometimes it is very difficult to avoid fouling. But 16 in a five minute period - that is ridiculous. The Lakers have got to be more savvy than that. Like I said, they have potential and LeBron will only make them better but this young core have the makings of a very good team.

The Joker moves to number two behind Wilt for triple doubles scored by Centres. When he was told this after the game he simply said he doesn't care.

He's also had 12 games this season where he was very close to triple doubling:

Nola 12/9/10
CHI 22/12/9
UTAH 7/10/16
NOLA 25/10/8
MIN 7/12/10
ORL 6/10/11
ORL 12/8/13
OKC 24/15/9
SA 21/9/9
PHX 23/8/9
POR 40/10/8
CHI 18/8/11
Bos 8/10/8

Apparently he was averaging 27 minutes during these games too.

Man there are very few players as good as him that are that selfless.

What a buzzer beater from Hield. Kings at 24-22 now and looking possible for a playoffs surge at the end of regular season. At worst they will end up something like 38-44 which would be way above expectations and a good sign for future too. They are looking to reinforce as well, Barnes and Porter have been linked though I would rather keep salary cap for Summer and try to throw crazy deals at guys like Middleton and Harris or use it to acquire picks.

I guess Pelicans would kill to have a player like Hield on their roster now.

So Davis, Embiid or Jokic for fist team All NBA C?
Actually since this is about the mid point of the season I'd be interested to see people's choices for 1st team all NBA up to this point.

I'd go with a back court of Steph Curry and James Harden and a front court of Giannis, KD, and AD. Would normally put in LeBron but since he's missed 12 games and there are other strong contenders in the front court I've got to leave him out.

I'd pick Kyrie over Curry. The rest are the same.

Curry, Harden, PG, Giannis and Jokic. I think it’s the same team Bill Simmons had (or was it Zach Lowe? Though I think he had PG in his third team and Davis in first).

Davis v Jokic is tough for me. It’s not AD’s fault how clueless the rest of that team bar Holiday is but they are still 21-25 despite AD. I also don’t get how their defense is so bad with two All-Defense players. The contrast between how Bucks have built around Giannis with the new coach and how NO have failed is staggering. If they trade their 2019 first for anyone bar Bradley Beal they will hit rock bottom of clueless.
