NBA 2018-2019

Of course. Everything he did in the final 3 minutes of that game was ridiculously bad: missed open three, dumb pass to nobody and then that shot.
Unpopular opinion amongst Raptors fan but I honestly hoped we would have moved him along with DeRozan. Wish we somehow could have snagged Conley along with Gasol in the Memphis trade, but no way on earth anyone takes Lowry’s contract.

Otherwise I honestly prefer going with FVV as our starting PG.

That was the plan, I think. The initial offer was JV and Lowry for Conley and Gasol but Grizzlies had no interest in Lowry, which is understandable given the fact they are trying to rebuild. Toronto would have probably had to include OG Anunoby and they were not particularly keen on that.

Hindsight’s a bitch but I honestly think we would have won the championship by now if we sacrificed OG to get Conley.

Oh well, we’re going to have to rebuild anyway if Kawhi leaves

That’d be the downside of trading for Conley. He has two years left, Lowry has one and basically all high paid Raptors players have one.

You build around Siakam, OG and possibly Kawhi if he stays after 2020. Lowry, Ibaka and Gasol will be gone.

Don't know much about OG anunoby. How good is he? What would you say his ceiling is?

Last season he was considered a better prospect than Siakam to the extent that Siakam was considered tradeable but OG was off limits. This season he’s had really bad luck with injuries whereas Siakam has had his breakthrough and is likely to win MIP.

As for his ceiling it’s hard to tell at this point tbh. He’s a very good defender and very poised for his age (He was tasked with marking LeBron in last years playoffs which he was unphased of and did a fairly good job despite the sweep). Where he’s lacking is on the offensive end as he’s not known to rack up too many buckets.

If Kawhi leaves then I can see the Raptors giving him a run as the starting SF assuming he’s healthy.

Iguodala.

Thanks for that.

A lot of overhyping of OG going on here. He's a good prospect but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

KD has to take that five year max from the Warriors if it is on the table.

Incredible how that injury is going to change the whole league next year. All of a sudden Knicks outlook is completely grim.

Will the Warriors offer him a max now, though? I don't think so. Paying top dollar luxury tax for a player who's not coming back until january at best? I would be very surprised.

Also, New York Knickerbockers  I almost feel bad for their fans. Hoping for Zion. Hoping for KD. Hoping for Kyrie. What now? Cousins and Bogdanovic?

I think they have to if they are serious about keeping him. He will get at least 2-3 max offers from other teams like Knicks, Clippers, Nets and he isn’t taking a discount this time.

I’m not sure if this will turn out to be a good deal though. He turns 31 this year, he was always going to get worse during the length of this contract and with this sort of injury it’s almost certain he will never return to his top form from this year anyway. He’s still likely going to be a damn good player but you would be talking more All-Star level at best than HOF level. Hope I’m wrong about it but few players returned from Achilles and were good, let alone great.

Also I think it’ll be bad publicity by Warriors to not offer him that deal now. Regardless if they pressured him to return or not, they are at least partly to blame for this injury I feel, or at least this is going to be the perception around the league.

It’s also the best situation for him to go to, as pointed out by Nate Duncan. He knows they will be in the playoffs and a contender and if he goes there and plays from March onwards he can still contribute to a championship. If he goes anywhere else it’s far from given he will even be in the playoffs. Knicks without him are definitely not even close to a playoffs team.

Tbf, think that Knicks outlook was grim either way. Kyrie links got cold and without Kyrie or another superstar they never had a chance of getting Durant.

No way that Kawhi also goes there. It is Clippers or Raps.

It appears KD had achilles surgery Monday night.

https://sports.yahoo.com/report-kevin-durant-had-surgery-to-repair-ruptured-achilles-200038822.html

Achilles tendon tears may be grouped into 4 types, according to severity of the tear and degree of retraction:

  1. type I: partial ruptures ≤50% - typically treated with conservative management
  2. type II: complete rupture with tendinous gap ≤3 cm - typically treated with end-end anastomosis
  3. type III: complete rupture with tendinous gap 3 to 6 cm - often requires tendon/synthetic graft
  4. type IV: complete rupture with defect of >6 cm (neglected ruptures) - often requires tendon/synthetic graft and gastrocnemius recession
It's not been announced at this point what grade of injury it was.

They don't have other option IMO either way. They are capped out till 19/20. It's not like they can sign a better player or offer someone else max contract.

The only point in not offering KD the max is if they want to make a move for Davis next Summer, assuming he doesn't sign longer contract this year.

Why do Dubs care about what happens from October to playoffs? They need KD in playoff, not in regular season.

I think that he is gonna stay there now. Especially if they don't win the title.

Makes no sense for Knicks now. Without him and another max player they most certainly won't make the playoffs.

Clippers can make a move for him, but apart from that who else will take him?

Literally the worst case scenario for him.

Davis will go to Lakers it seems. Now it’s all about whether they add Kuzma to the deal or not and whether Pelicans take #4 pick or is it traded to a third team for a player (which appears to be Pelicans preference but not sure what they can really get). Ingram and Lonzo will be headed to New Orleans.

Is this confirmed? Lonzo will be the starting PG hopefully which can help his development and Ingram is a good player who can grow. I doubt they get Kuz though.

Hope the lakers dont trade for Davis unless we don't give up Ingram. Also the media needs to chill on kyrie lebron reunion.

Because they're half-Jewish?

Racist.

this is what i'm going to do to you
