NBA 2018-2019

The city's been nuts. The people are out in the streets and partying. The weather isn't great, but that doesn't stop the people from getting insane right now!

Yessss :drool::drool:

Hopefully this has silenced everyone crying over the DeMar trade. This was the exact reason we traded him, even if it’s for a rental.

I’m hoping the warriors get complacent or there’s some KD or Draymond drama.
No complacency required. I think this will be closer than a lot of people think. :nervous:

Toronto is going nuts! I don’t know the ins and outs of the rules but still was great fun to watch live.

Is anyone here going to buy a ticket to one of the home games? I'm considering getting one but only if there'll be someone I'll watch with.

He never responded to Pusha T  In all seriousness, I just dislike his music. I don't want the Warriors to win though :(

Well I think Warriors win KD or no KD but it was nice for the Raptors to get this far anyway.

I think Kawhi will be his usual awesome self but I don't trust the rest of the team to help him enough. If KD plays, it's a wrap, without him, I think they have a small chance (any news on Iguodala ?)

Feel for Bucks but it’s their own fault. They had them yesterday and blew it completely in the fourth quarter. They did the same in Game 5 really where it also seemed like they had it under control until they didn’t.

I don’t mind Toronto though. Great fans and Kawhi has been absolutely incredible in the playoffs.

I hope I am also wrong about the Finals...

I love how Kawhi being great is eating up at the very bitter Skip Bayless. It's so funny to see how Shannon Sharpe teases him

Giannis being exposed again. Middleton did not show up.

But Raptors do have the better team anyway.

I find all the bashing Giannis got for the last week very unfair.

The Claw.

I find all the bashing Giannis got for the last week very unfair.

That is because everyone forms their opinions on the drop of the hat and they always need to find someone to blame. The Bucks for the entire season had a very good bench, but now their bench is suddenly very poor and Raptors whose bench was apparently so weak is suddenly the best; Steph is now suddenly in the conversation as the best player in the league and Durant is apparently now useless; Nick Nurse was supposed to be an offensive coach with bad rotations but is suddenly now a defensive mastermind but Bud and Giannis are so one dimensional; hyperboles flying around based on 1-2 games with no regard or respect for the opposition, no historical narrative. One day you are great, and next you are useless.

Why? He is the easiest superstar to stop (cause of his lack of ability to shoot). Put lengthy player in the field, and you can neutralize him (while the likes of LeBron, KD and Kawhi cannot be neutralized at all).

He is a great player, but honestly not in the same level of those three.

He’s 24, a monster on both ends on the floor, was the best player in the league in the regular season, had multiple great games in these playoffs and will only get better. He’s just had 2-3 average or below average games against Raptors and he’s suddenly not all that. Nah, I don’t buy it, it’s recency bias. He is amazing.

Yeah, it’s like there’s no middle ground. Fully agree with what you said.

Shaq couldn’t shoot and he wasn’t easy to stop either.

No one really cares about the regular season in that league, Westbrook not long ago was the best player in the regular season but never in conversation for the best in the league.

Giannis is very good and can become better, but he is one level below the likes of LeBron, KD, Kawhi and Steph. Kawhi totally outplayed him in this playoffs.

He still should win the MVP award, but he shouldn't be in the discussion for the best in the league yet. Until he proves himself in the playoff against top teams.

Yeah, there will be a lot of talk about Giannis which will be pretty damn stupid. It is not like the Bucks folded and went out in the 1st round. He is 24 and just entering his prime with scary thing being that he just keeps getting better (and will get better). Also it took fantastic team effort from the Raptors to somewhat neutralize him after game 2.

The more important question for the Bucks is about the rest of the team for the future and how they will surround him taking advantage of so much focus on him.

VanVleet won’t continue this form and generally I doubt Raptors bench will carry on the same against the Warriors.

I agree with @Sarni that Bucks were tougher opponent for Dubs and on paper it should be Warriors in 4 or 5 - with or without KD.

Bucks really disappointed. All that hype during regular season and so far in playoffs and the last 2-3 games they were really poor especially in clutch moments.

Giannis is tier two. But only LeBron and Durant are ahead of him.

There’s no chance he’s a level below Steph. He’s tier below KD and LeBron but not anyone else.

It’s all small margin, a couple of shots go differently and people would be criticizing Kawhi for going 9-22 from the floor and 1-8 from three in a crucial game.

He can become at his level, he's still young, but as of now I have to agree that he has not reached him yet.

Watching scenes from Toronto and reading their fans posts across the web I don’t actually feel that disappointed that my preferred team lost here. Such a passionate but also cool, knowledgeable and polite group. I’m going to find it super easy to support them in the Finals (Toronto fans you should be worried now, though it seems that in these playoffs every other round I get what I want...).

Like if the least likeable team made it then you wouldn't support them against the warriors

Can you please support the warriors bud

Igoudala should be back for game 1. Cousins is expected to return even before Durant as he already trains with the team.

The only chance Raptors have is to go 2-0 at home, which is unlikely, KD or not, considering Dubs last time lost all on the road was it 2007 ?

Both Igoudala and Green are better fits for Kawhi. Would be more worried in the Lowry/VanVleet vs Curry matchup and how Toronto will handle both Klay and Curry as they are by far the best backcourt shooters in the league.

Raptors have pretty good defence but 100 or 105 points won't cut it against the Dubs.

If Warriors win the matches before KD returns it would be clean sweep IMO.
