NBA 2018-2019

The thing is the Warriors might move the ball better now which is a scary peospect.
Could be a blessing in disguise as ridiculous as it sounds. I know there's a fair few who prefer it when KD is not on the floor in terms of GS' play. This is Steph's chance to shine again.

They say it looks like a calf strain so not as bad as an achilles tear if true.

This is a must win for Rockets. KD could return for Game 7 so it would be much tougher to win at Oracle Arena then, I think if they win tonight they will finish them off at home without problem.

It’s not a blessing in disguise, he has been by far their best player in the playoffs before this game.

@Sarni Are you Celtics legend Paul Pierce?

Considering where my loyalties are in that match up I can’t complain. :) I did say I was just being typically defeatist because NBA results were not soft on me the last couple of years but it appears that this year it’s football that will annoy me and basketball will make it up.

I'm not saying it is, and if I was a Warrior's fan, I would definitely prefer to have KD on the court (he's too good, like a cheat code), but many believe that the Warriors play a better, more fluid brand of basketball that can get the most of their players when Steph is the main man.

Not coming back from this. Two huge threes from Draymond and Klay.

Yeah I think they play nicer but they need him in clutch moments. I think he’ll be back for G7 (if it even happens) but Rockets missed a HUGE opportunity tonight.

Wow, Rockets had their chance off the press.

Rockets will rue tonight. It was a golden opportunity to steal one.

WOW! Was worried when KD went down but the "old Warriors" Steph, Klay, Draymond and Iggy came through.

Game 7 (that’s if Houston even win game 6) would be on Sunday. I would expect KD to be back for this.

I think if they go to G7 without Durant Houston will capitalize this time.

Good to see Draymond is still as annoying as he used to be.

So happy! Woohoo! Woohoo! Woohoo! I know everybody hates the Warriors but I feel a string of "Woohoos" coming on. :D:D:D:D:D:):):):):):D:D:D:D:D

Harden completely disappeared in fourth again.

"I'm Steph Curry. You know who I am."
"I'm Klay Thompson. You know who I am."
"I'm Draymond Green. You know who I am."
"I'm Andre Iguodala. You know who I am."

Woohoo! Woohoo! Woohoo!

Think this game demonstrated why the Warriors have been the best team in the NBA over the past 5 seasons. They have an unshakable will to pull games out of their *** in the face of adversity. No other team has come close to demonstrating this level of resilience bar the 2016 Cavs in the Finals I suppose (although they definitely had Warriors suspensions to help swing things their way). I felt that Draymond emotionally picked up the pace for the entire team when it looked like the Warriors were going to fall apart without Durant. The guy is hated by so many people and it's probably a sign of how crucial he has been in terms of providing an unmatched winning mentality to his team.

You really don't leave any chance for anyone to root for Warriors after coming in here, do you.

Ffs, Kerr had to bring up yesterday's Pool result and mention Klopp's post game spiel during the post game press conference did he. Dropped an uncensored f-bomb in there as well.

Haha really? Just shows how far european football has come in the US over the last several years...

There is definitely something not right with him. They say it’s a combination of tendinitis in the knee and an upper respiratory infection which is keeping him mostly bed-ridden. It’s unfortunate that he’s gotten sick at this moment in time, but he’s not the first player to play ill/injured during the playoffs, and he won’t be the last. It’s the playoffs, no one cares for your excuses. If you go out on the floor, you’ll be judged on your play, especially as the star man. This is his team, not Jimmy's, Ben's, and definitely not Tobias' and he'll be held accountable.

Having said that, his teammates have to play better and shouldn’t be immune to criticism. Only Butler has shown up. Simmons and Harris have both been garbage this series, with Ben, as has been pointed out, being a complete non-factor.
I can understand the knee issue because he's always had problems with it but the infection is a cause for concern. If he starts he has to play much better or his coach has to have the balls to give him rest

Yea. It's admirable he's playing, and I wouldn't expect anything less of him, but he's got to perform if he's in the lineup.

Having four All-Stars including the best player in the league to go along with that amazingly astonishing attitude does help a little I think.

And Draymond is hated for reasons other than being key to incredibly wonderful mentality too.

I just don't see how Warriors are going to match the scoring over 4 quarters now . With a firing Steph & Klay the warriors would probably still struggle but considering that they have been ice cold there just isn't enough scoring in the team . Not sure how this team can get 100+ points

Steph and Klay need to be at their absolute best for the Dubs to win without KD now. Going to be tricky.

He’s the best pick in any draft of the last 15 years I think. He was taken with no. 41, recommended by a Polish scout.

Still, hate the way he is treated.
Nah. Kawhi and Giannis were both the 15th pick. Yeah Jokic is amazing but he's not on that level

Also, KD at #2...wonder who passed on him...

So the bucks have put the celtics in the trash bin where they belong. Honestly, i don't see how toronto or philly could beat them either. And the Finals vs Warriors or Rockets would go 7 games, too. I think they might just be better than even the warriors right now

Also warriors pull off a great escape here. KD injured, Draymond fouls out, they manage to hold on. Interesting that Steph suddenly went back to being Steph after KD's injury. Warriors original stars stepped up. Rockets got too little from Harden in the 4th, and simply missed too many open 3s. They might rue this loss

I still don't understand how that happened , how did the warriors win that game
They're the warriors. The reason everybody lost their shit over KD is because that team already had Steph, Klay and Draymond, plus Iggy. In the absence of KD, those 4 played like the 3 all stars and finals MVP that they are

Also Kevon Looney. Amazing what good coaching and development can do for a player

Indeed. I can't wait until Durant leaves, they replace him with someone less good and are back to being fun, and the league is competitive again (despite winning 73 games that Warriors team was much more vulnerable against quality opposition in the playoffs).

Looney has been great this season. Hard to have sympathy for the likes of Simmons who cannot shoot, when you see a poor natural shooter like Looney suddenly making jump shoots and developing that part of the game. Looney's rebounds and rim protection have been very important for the Dubs. He is probably their sixth best player.

If KD misses the next two games, this will actually be a very good test for Warriors to see if they need to do whatever it takes to re-sign him, or they can still be awesome without him.

That's been great to watch tbh. I made a comment regarding this on youtube after game 1 or 2 vs the Clippers and I received around 1000 likes. Simmons has no excuse, it's a disgrace he's at this stage and yet cannot make a simple jumpshot. Giannis is taking 3s now, Simmons hasn't worked at all on his weakness

Well even if he doesn't sign they will obviously try to sign someone else and will have a better team than the one that will play now

They have the Bird rights of KD, they won't have the Bird rights of some other superstar. Obviously, they'll sign someone else, but from free agents, only AD and Kawhi are on KD's level.
