NBA 2016-17

Westbrook with a triple double at half-time. If Thunder manage to win this one, I think we could get a brilliant last few games of the series - decided in game 7.

Westbrook is playing very good. He isn't going for hero shots in each attempt, instead he is allowing the team to play by spreading the ball to all players.
and suddenly his teammates aren't garbage anymore like some here were claiming.

Of course they aren't. Adams, Oladipo and Kanter are quite good players, as good as anything Harden has in his team.

The problem was always Westbrook. He was carrying his team, but at the same time with his selfishness he wasn't allowing the other players to play. When a player has the ball in possession far more than the rest of the team combined, that is a problem and so the players won't play that well.

It seems that he has reflected after the worst quarter in the history of the NBA. Both on this and the previous game, he is playing a bit differently, holding the ball less than before, and putting the other players in game too. And this is probably going to pay off.

...

Harden atrocious so far in this match.

His teammates have been losing pretty bad in this series whenever he has sat on the bench though, that does point to him having worse teammates than Harden.

He is still shooting 29% tonight btw! His teammates showed up big time though.

If Harden was a footballer, he'd play for Barca. And not for the good reasons.

I made the comment at the end of the first half, when he was playing very good. He has gone a bit too much Westbrook during the second hakf.

To be fair, Westbrook has done it twice this match too.

Everyone does it, like I said before, Harden doesn't care if it gets him hate, I still don't think Rockets will win.

Poor Roberson
Why poor? He gets payed millions to play, he has no right at being this awful at free throws. He should take an extra hour each day to train free shots.

Shaq's accuracy increased a lot when he took the time to do extra training on free throws one season.

I think you're taking my comment way too seriously, mate ;)

Even though he should be better at making free throws, I can still feel sorry for him in this given situation. It can't be much fun for him.

And usually, he's not this bad at them. Whether it's down to him choking or pure bad luck, it still sucks for him.

Definitely, last two seasons I didn't complain when they hacked Howard, the idiot should have improved his fts in training.

Oh my Gosh, OKC went from the best thing a team did in this playoff to this idiotic play on Nene.

Awful execution on both sides. Harden first, then OKC on the play after Westbrook's 3. Exciting, but poor basketball to end the game.

Feck, wanted OKC to win because I want this series to go long. But I think that everything will be over in Houston next match. Houston is definitely a more mature team, while OKC for most part is give the ball to Westbrook who shoots like 30 times for match and makes 10.

Mike Dantoni won the match with his hack a Robinson tactic, which kind of killed the match rhythm for OKC. Nene was immense, 12/12 from open play, you can't go better than that.

That'll be the series.

Role players are better at home. But even still, Thunder were something like -18 when Westbrook was off. I think Houston's bench outscored their starters. It is what it is. I think Houston will get past Spurs or Memphis but it is not like any of this really matters unless the Warriors capitulate spectacularly.

I don't think Rockets can get past San Antonio, you have to admit Russ was full of TO and missed shots the 2nd half and he was one of the reasons OKC lost.

I think it will go to 7 but I think they could do it.

He wasn't great and he contributed to the loss in part but he is a long way down the list of reasons. Unlike game 2 where he was much more at fault and Harden outplayed him. He tried to post up Beverley too much, definitely. Other than that and some bad 3s (which he had to take) I don't think he was that bad.

Nah, Kawhi isn't losing before he faces Warriors.

Thunder were terrible without him, but he was hardly impressive in the second half. Too many shots missed, a few turnovers, and like always, he isn't good at defending. The difference between him and Harden is that while Russ is the better player, Harden kind of understand when things aren't going his way and shares the responsibility with the other players, giving the ball to them to shoot. Westbrook tries to be a hero too much, and while that works at times, it also misfires quite often.

Harden is better at it but having the better offensive players around you allows you to be better too. Westbrook often closed games this season with Adams, Grant and Roberson on the floor with him. That is just a defensive lockdown line-up and forces Westbrook to do it all - which he did more often than not. That doesn't mean Westbrook isn't too selfish at times, because he definitely can be.

Strange game. Interesting but really not that high quality. I think this pretty much applies to the entire series. Whichever team progresses here is not going any further imo.
