NBA 2015-2016

Put CP3 on that Nets team in that Eastern Conference and they still would have reached the finals.

Kidd couldn't shoot, Nash couldn't defend. Neither of them are in the conversation.
Kidd, along with The Glove, was one of the best defenders ever who played PG. He also has the 3rd most triple-doubles in NBA history. Nash was a 2-time NBA MVP. Both are easily in the conversation.

Paul has led the league in steals 6 times and has made 7 all defense teams with many years still to come. The gap is defense between Kidd and Paul is much smaller than the offensive gap between Paul and Kidd.

Steve Nash over Chris Paul?
Of course. He wasn't known for his defence, but he's much better than Paul at running the offence, and he's also a better shooter as well.

Paul couldn't win? That's too simplistic imo. Both are better leaders (among other qualities) than Paul. And even without those two you got your five, and I haven't even thought long about the list.

For me the jury is still out of Paul. He hasn't even done anything that would separate him from today's point guards. If Westbrook wins a championship then our next discussion will be if Paul is actually better than Westbrook. And then you have Curry, Irving, who still have a chance to prove themselves.. It's not all about FG% or one-dimensional stats.

Jury is still out on Paul? he is easily the best all round PG in the game, would you still rate Nash higher than Paul if we put him in that Hornets team and Paul in D'antoni's suns?

Don't know what you want me to say Danny, we've had this discussion before.
No matter how many times I point out things like Chris Paul being voted onto tons of all nba teams, I just get back one liners about TS% or FG%.
How is that better than being voted the MVP?!

He hasn't played for the Hornets for 4 years now. In fact, I had the same opinion as you before he moved to the Clippers, and I really thought he would take the Clippers to the next level, but even with a lot of quality on the team, even with Doc Rivers coaching, he failed to take the team to the next level.

If he manages to lead any team in the future to some sort of success that would definitely put him higher on my list, but till now he hasn't, so I'm not just going to call the fight over, especially with Curry just coming off a season where he won the MVP and a championship.

Lakers agree 3yr $21m deal with Lou Williams. :D

I agree with you on the highlighted bit, although he isn't to blame for the Clippers' shortcomings.

Brandon Bass agrees to join the Lakers apparently. And Mavs in talk with LAL about a sign and trade with Lin.
I guess Nick Young gets traded now.

What kind of player is Bass? Can he defend?

:( Gonna miss him, hell of a clutch 6man

On the plus side we've picked up Corey Joseph from the Spurs.

So that's Joseph, Carroll and Biyombo as FA signings. Masai really taking care of our defensive horror show last season :D

Would you say they signed BB as a replacement for Amir or as just a straight backup to Jonas?

I can't see him replacing Amir, your spacing would be absolutely zero, especially since Jonas loves posting up.

Nah, Amir leaving (:() just means we'll have Pat Patterson playing the 4..or ideally bringing in a proper PF starter. Biyombo has been brought I imagine as a freakishly athletic backup centre, purely for rim protection. Jonas will still be our starting big man.

Lou Will is awesome.

You know, as much as I loved him at TO he was actually a bit of a liability. Sure his clutch 3s were great to watch but more often then not him on the court meant we couldn't move the ball very well (and we're already shockingly average at that).

Interesting to see how the Lakers use him, though I'd imagine they'd be better off focusing on building an actual starting backcourt.

Any chance Derozan is leaving now?

Highly unlikely.

There were some rumours not long ago that we were willing to let him go if we managed to lure Aldridge to Toronto, but that never happened so DeRozan is staying put.

Not basketball wise. He has 2 girlfriends and gets shouted out by Drake.
