NBA 2015-2016

From Marcus Thompson in the San Jose Mercury news re. Steph Curry (Thompson covers the Warriors on a regular basis).

And afterward, the only question left was why is he ever doubted?

He came up big in Portland in Game 4, his now famous "I'm back!" game when he scored 17 in overtime. He was clutch down the stretch in a season-saving Game 6 in Oklahoma City -- a 3 to get within one, a 3 to tie it and a runner as the dagger -- to finish the biggest game of the season as the Warriors rallied from a 3-1 series deficit.

And he has done it again in the Finals. Just as he did last year, scoring 37 in a pivotal Game 5, Curry ripped the heart out of the Cavaliers after earlier struggles left people doubting him.

"I wouldn't have a championship ring," Andre Iguodala said, "I wouldn't have the accolades I have since I been on this team, without that guy on my team."

Joke of a decision. The way LeBron just played them is so obvious and yet so pathetic. Should motivate the Warriors to drop 15 3s on them and humiliate them even more.

I remember years ago when they asked Jordan if the Pistons were dirty and he basically said it was up to the Bulls to get tougher. Lebron is no MJ.

Could have suspended him when he pulled down Adams or tripped Kanter, but then again I guess that would be bad for business. NBA have been so weak these playoffs. Warriors will be fired up now.

I wouldn't have been pleased with a suspension on either occasion, but even though I tried to plead Draymond's case in both instances it wouldn't have been unreasonable. In this case Lebron initiates the whole thing and basically plops his junk into Draymond's face. At that point if you're going to try and push him off the junk is going to take a hit. In addition, the so called contact was so slight Lebron didn't even seem to feel he'd been hit.

.....or maybe he was taking the high road and just pretending not to notice.

I don't like Lebron and he certainly baited Green into this advantage, but he is playing awfully well tonight.

Aberration game for me. Can't imagine GS shooting this poorly while Cleveland shoot this hot. Plus, GS gets Green back to add some needed size and defense.

Barnes has been atrocious tonight.

For anyone doubting Green's caliber as a world class defender and team-stirrer-upper (feck off couldn't think of the best term here), this was the game. The paint was porous for GS all night. Bogut is indispensable for their rim protection, Speights and Ezeli don't come close to replicating that. Will be interesting to see how Kerr adjusts.

Concerning Barnes, I would be mortified if my team gave him the max (even with the max expanding Eboue). Very good player at the 3, but in games like this, he should be a consistent difference maker if he's all star caliber/max worthy. He wasn't.

But then, Bogut is gone now as well. This is going to 7.

Anything is possible. Green will give them scoring presence as well. Bogut is a miss but if GS is making shots tonight and Cleveland isn't shooting lights out, it wouldn't have mattered. I think GS close it out on the road. Then again, Cleveland could win and LBJ can bitch about someone else and get him suspended.

@adexkola - It's the NBA where good players (not just elite) get max contracts. It is what it is. I don't follow enough to know if Barnes is good enough for that kind of money.

I agree but if this guy is swallowing 25% of your cap, your ceiling is probably the first or second round of the playoffs. Good stuff, but if possible, one could do better.
