NBA 2015-2016

Philly .

Thunder finally starting to pull it together, hopefully. Probably just jinxed it now.
Durant .

75 points from Golden State against Phoenix in the first half. Shooting 15 of 20 from 3-point range. Curry has 27 points and 8 assists. Ridiculous.

Never mind Curry was ridiculously good in the last 5 minutes. Utah had a chance to win with 16 seconds left but couldn't get the buzzer beater.

So, which jersey are the Lakers going to retire, #8 or #24, or both?

I know there is a Kobe love in going on and that this season should not matter. But, really Kobe is having like the worst season I can remember. Obviously there has been guys who have played worse but, none of those guys have been able to get 30 minutes a night and able to completely dominate the ball. Plus all of his misses are leading to easy fastbreaks for opposing teams. And this Philadelphia homecoming was nauseating he was never loved in Philly

He lived and played in Philly before entering the NBA, besides, who are the Philly fans going to root for on their team when everyone is a potential trade piece?

He spent most of his childhood in Europe(mostly Italy) because of his father's basketball career. And when he moved back to Philly during his teenage years he lived in the suburb of Ardmore near Philly. He was even booed relentlessly when Philadelphia held the all star game in 2002.

I know, but he attended a high school in Philly and played ball there. And booing him in the all star game in 2002 was understandable considering the Lakers won the Sixers in the Finals the season before.

A bit of old school Dirk late in the 4th and OT, love it.

We lost to the... Sixers? My god we suck balls.

Kobe was an embarassment last night. Wish I could find the vine of the sequence where Kobe went into an iso against 2 players, with other Lakers players on the perimeter waiting, before he hoists an airball. I love the dude, and I thought the Kobe bashing over the years gets tiring (bla bla efficiency), but ffs Kobe.

Seems like he's just going to keep on jacking up as many shots as he can, and hope they fall in so his career average doesn't suffer too much. Meanwhile pocketing $25m.

Must be some sight watching a 7 foot monster coming after you.

Jordan with the Wizards was immense up until he got injured, and he even played with injuries, in the first 50 or so games, despite a sluggish start, he averaged 25-5-5 and had them very much on track for a big playoff run, unreal stuff. Massive collapse without him. They were a solid unit when both Jordan and Rip were around.

How good is Steph Curry?? 40 points in 30 mins. He shot 14/18, 8/11 from 3 point range. He scored 28 in the 3rd quarter and then sat the whole 4th out. He has scored 40 points 6 times in the first 20 games, no more player has done that since Jordan. Just incredible.

He is incredible and cementing that reputation as the great shooter in the history of the NBA - very quickly.

However, he is also incredibly lucky...his unique set of skills (when was the last time we saw such a pure shooter with the kind of handle he has???) along with the changing of the rules are a match made in heaven.

The hand checking from back in the day would have slowed him down a touch, but the bigger issue for me is the physicality - the Bad Boys and Knicks teams Jordan faced would have just about snapped him in half with frustration.

But, I'm glad the game has moved on - the lack of thuggery on the court is a good thing and Curry is amazing...just gotta pray those ankles don't betray him again.

It's the ultimate compliment I can pay to the dude. How else can you stop the fecker?
It's funny, but I think the 2nd most important person on that team isn't Klay or Barnes...but, Draymond Green.

As we are seeing, they can sort of survive without Barnes in the short term....but, Green?

No chance. I think a long term injury to him is just as terminal for the Warrior's hopes of a repeat.

I agree. He's the key to their insane ability to switch on defense.

Not to mention run the small ball lineup they tend to play late in the 4th quarter.

Green is a chance to get a triple double almost every night.

They're like the Jordan era Bulls atm(minus 5 championships lol) - fans all across the country coming out to watch them on the road.

Spurs might have a chance. It's not often you see someone block Durant as Kawhi did in the season opener. Honestly, the latter is probably the best perimeter defender since Pippen as well as being an efficient scorer while getting more touches than he's ever got in his young career. It's also worth noting that the Spurs are 1st in defensive efficiency and probably have the best roster to match the Warriors' small ball line-up. Although their offence still needs work, I think they'll be just fine when it's time for the playoffs.

The Spurs definitely have a chance. If I'm not mistaken, GS lost both matchups against the Spurs last season. They were extremely fortunate to avoid the Spurs in the finals. Agree with your assessment on Kawhi, his usage is going up and his efficiency is holding constant. On the other hand, Aldridge hasn't been a seamless fit, and Danny Green's form is worrying. Great defense will stall Golden State, but eventually you'll need to put points up on the board. Then again, it's the Spurs we're talking about. They'll be a juggernaught by March. Sort of like Fergie's United teams of yore.
