NBA 2014-2015

So, I didn't have any time so far to watch Toronto against the Wizards, what's actually going on there? Thought that would be one of the closer ones.

Toronto really inefficient shooting, DeRozan and Lowry backcourt not performing to their standards. It's been a little close, but Wizards have edged them out each time due to some big shots.

Getting rid of DeRozan would be nuts, he's pretty much the only Raptor that hasn't been a complete embarrassment these last couple of games.

The problem with the Raptors is that they start off games well enough, move the ball around, then the coach decides to play ISO almost exclusively, the team falls apart and then you have 3 or 4 of the same players trying some hero shit in the end going for Hollywood shots they have no business taking. Lowry has been complete dog turd since he let his All Star status get to his head.

Casey definitely needs to go, for an allegedly defensive coach our D has been atrocious, not to mention he hasn't a clue as to how to use Valanciunas.

I'm just scared we'll end up hiring Scott Brooks :nervous:

I haven't watched this series but DeRozan is one of the most overrated players around. He's shooting 41% and the only thing saving his TS% of 51 (which is still quite bad) from being lower is that he is a good free throw shooter.

His shooting isn't great, but again pretty much everyone in that Raptors roster has appalling shooting stats bar maybe Lou Williams (who still takes too many shots). I personally see him as more of a SF, but I don't see anyone else in that roster being able to play the 2 guard who isn't a defensive liability.

What a game by CP3. If he manages to play like that for the rest of the series, Clippers will go through.

Didn't expect the Bucks to push Chicago this much. Seems like the Nets are pushing the Hawks too. Does anyone that comes out of the East have a realistic shot of beating the winner of the West? Seems very, very unlikely IMO.

Only the Bulls(Healthy) and the Cavs as I'm predicting the Warriors to reach the finals.

The TrailBlazers and the Raptors are only good in the regular season.

The Trail Blazers have tons of injuries. They lost Matthews for the year. Kaman and Afflalo have missed games. Aldridge has played with a torn ligament in his thumb for 3 months now. Batum has played with a knee injury for a month and a torn tendon in his wrist since December.

The Hawks are still a contender. The Celtics won the title in 08 after going 7 games with the 8 seed. The Spurs did it last year too.

08 Hawks and 14 Mavs were pretty strong teams though, the Hawks are being outclassed by a D-Will who still thinks its 07.

The Grizzlies have owned the Blazers in the regular season even with everyone healthy. A healthy Portland may have taken this to 6 games. Let's not forget the Grizzlies have played without Conley in 2 games of this tie.

Was that the series against the Bulls with tons of OTs? I vaguely remember a Ray Allen buzzer beater and ridiculous performances from Rose and Noah.

Love misses the semis with his dislocated shoulder. I think the Cavs are hoping for the Bucks to go through, Noah and Gasol could cause them a lot of problems in the paint.

They caused teams so few problems that they lost 8 more games than they won.

So teams with bad records in the regular season genuinely never do well in the playoffs ? Interesting, match ups are more important in the playoffs than in the regular season, I can see why a team which consists of Mike Bibby,Al Horford and J.J etc would give the Celtics problems.

Didn't the Raptors sweep the Wizards in the regular season....How about now?

We started 24-6...

And then Casey wen't full retard with his ISO plays and his obsession with playing 3 guards at a time.
DeRozan played a big part in that good start and his injury was a major setback for the Raptors as well...

The raptors were separated from the Wizards by 3 games. Those Hawks were 29 games behind the celtics. It's not at all the same thing.

Yes of course small sample size and match ups matter more in the playoffs. That's my argument. You are the one who implied that the 08 Hawks were somehow unusually good for an 8 seed.

Portland took game 4, so the series is going back to Memphis unfortunately. Ironically, Conley's absence proved his impact on the court more than the previous 3 games showed; Lillard was able to get shots off and drive to the rim with ease.

He's had a pretty forgetful year actually, he's regressed from last season where he was all star calibre.

Reason we started so well was a combination of Kyle Lowry playing the best basketball of his career, the team actually sharing the ball, and the other Eastern teams generally being quite shit. Then the all star weekend happened and got to Lowry's ego, the Eastern teams started to improve, and the coach decided that moving the ball around should make way for Lou Will shooting from the centre court.

I said they were pretty strong teams, not unusually good....I never mentioned their reg season record, it just that sometimes in the playoffs like 2011 the #8 seed can cause problems,I think we can all agree that if The heat managed clinch the 8th seed and they somehow got Bosh back from injury they'd have been a really strong #8th seed this year.

those would be unusually extenuating circumstances. The 08 Hawks didn't acquire a star at the deadline, pick up great center from freaking Lebanon and get an all pro power forward back from injury. They are who their record said they were.
