NBA 2014-2015

Just saw a thing on ESPN talking about how there are no more "bad guys" in the NBA and everyone is likeable. I dunno about that, I still highly dislike Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard, and Chris Paul, but maybe that's just me. Plus every non-OKC fan seems to hate Steven Adams.
I can't stand LeBron and Reggie Jackson.

Klay Thompson now has the NBA record for most points in a quarter (37). He didn't miss a shot in the entire quarter and blew the Kings out by himself. Never seen a shooting barrage like that, also threw in a couple of good assists and good defensive play throughout the shooting streak. At the 9-10 minute mark of the 3rd quarter, the Kings were looking like the better team and had tied the game. By the end of the quarter, they were losing by 24.

Can anyone stop the Warriors? Other than themselves via injuries/form.

37 in a quarter, that's pretty amazing. He has to be an All-Star this year.

He scored more in that quarter than the majority of the NBA players career highs... Klay is disgustingly good.
He had a relatively "poor" game otherwise though. Was 9/9 from 3-point land and 4/4 FG in that quarter, which is 13/13 but he was 16/25 in the whole game which means he was only 3/12 in the other three quarters. Could've easily scored 60

Shooters go through streaks in games, hell look at Curry and Harden, they often go a few shots missed in a row and just when you think it's not their day, they hit a few 3s in the last quarter and all is well with their performance and they start to look like they can't miss.

And Klay is making me think that sooner or later, someone is going to break Wilt's 100 point record.

  • The 76ers offense is so incredibly bad. 7.3 points from 30th to 29th. That's the difference between 29th and 6th.
  • Golden State is by far the best defensive team in the league as well as having an offense only 0.4 points off 1st. They are the favorites.
  • Cleveland is not a legitimate contender until they fix the defense. It's really really bad.
  • Oklahoma City should not scare Golden State if they meet in the first round.
  • How is the Pelicans defense so bad? They have Anthony Davis! Monty Williams needs to be fired.

Watching Wiz-Blazers. Nice to see, but still amazes me that Steve Blake is in his 12th season. He's sort of the NBA equivalent of a left-handed reliever-there's always a spot for him one someone's team.

The Pelicans have Jrue Holiday, Asik and Davis who can defend, the rest of the team are a hopeless mess when it comes to making the right defensive rotations.

Whiteside!

Finishes with a 14-13-12 (points-rebounds-blocks) triple double in only 24 minutes! Franchise record for blocks and NBA record this season.

Whiteside had a fantastic game, didn't expect that at all
He's been very good for Miami this season. He hasn't got many opportunities, but he made them count, and he has been getting more and more minutes lately, and he's had a big impact on many wins for Miami already.

It's amazing that he was snubbed by all teams in the NBA, and probably only Miami's desperation for a center allowed him to have another chance in the NBA. Kudos for him though for taking full advantage so far.

He's a great kid (well he's 25) as well. This is his post game interview after Miami's win at the Clippers.

I don't know Bastketball too well but 37 points in a quarter must rank as one of the best individual performances in any sport ever, right?

It's just ridiculous

Jennings out for the season. That's a huge blow for the Pistons' playoff hopes.

At least Harden will deservedly start ahead of him.

West starters: Curry, Kobe/Harden, Blake, Davis, Gasol

East starters: Lowry, Wall, Melo, James, Gasol

Gasol vs Gasol! Should be fun to see.

Reserves are

West: Durant, Westbrook, Harden, Aldridge, Duncan, Thompson, Paul

East: Teague, Millsap, Horford, Bosh, Wade, Irving, Butler

Wade will probably have to be replaced as well as Kobe.

Duncan over Cousins is crazy. Also I'd have Brandon knight in there . Crazy to think Howard isn't in there.

Pfffft. On NBA2K15 I scored 104pts in a game and 40 in a quarter on HOF difficulty with my player. That was a game that also included 11 steals, 14 assists and 7 defensive rebounds. Klay can suck it.

Lakers really need Kobe back. They just can't tank properly without him.

Not sure what to think of the Bulls Lakers game. Butler brought them back into the game and the Bulls went with Rose to close the game out for them, wtf?!

Cousins is selected as the Bryant replacement though, and deservedly so. I'm surprised to see Lowry and Lillard left out.

DPOY will be Draymond Green and deservedly so. Duncan has had a great season defensively but Howards been better. I'd have Bogut and a couple others ahead of him too.

Lowry is in and Lillard should have probably taken the place of one of the OKC players. I don't get how the coaches think that either of them deserved the spot when they've been injured and OKC aren't in a playoffs spot yet.
