Nba 2011-2012

This will be a very tough game for the Heat, as the refs are allowing a lot of contact in the game, and the threes are still not going in for Miami...

Why didn't the Heat get 2 free throws for the last foul in the first quarter? It was the second in the last two minutes..

Miami's 3pt shooting is shocking. If Indiana did a better job rebounding they would be further ahead right now, still anyones game for the taking.

Edit: Wade getting angry with the coach, I always thought he was a good guy but he's become a bit irritating this season with his actions.

I think Spoelstra is feeling the pressure.. After last game it was the first time I hear him indirectly trying to pass the message: "It wasn't my fault! :nervous:", and now a little chit chat with Wade during the timeout..

Wade needs to step up.. And Miami needs to stop taking those threes.

Chalmers has stepped up this game, Indiana really need to close out this game.

The Heat have sorely missed Bosh. No way Hibbert dominates like this with Bosh in the picture.

Wade has been shit. Lebron can't do it on his own, and Miami's bench is absent as usual.

Everyone blamed the role players for the Game 2 loss but the big 2 take the blame for this defeat: LeChoke only had 6pts the second half and Wade had 5pts the entire game!

Credit to Indiana, dominated on the inside and made some nice perimeter shot from 3pt land. Heat's 3pt shooting is as bad as mine.

Seems like the Heat have given up on this game. Still think they will go through to the finals, mind. A Pacers Celtics/76ers finals would be weird.

Miller and Battier have had good looks for 3s, they just can't make them.

I've always wondered why the NBA never adopted the 1-in-1 for foul shooting like in NCAA play. Doug Gottlieb brought this up the other day on his radio show.

I would love that, it's always huge pressure in the NCAA games to hit that first free throw.

I'd also love to see them jump the ball for each quarter like they used to do in the old days.

The Heat are 28-76 from the field and 4-19 from 3. Ouch!

No one will be ruling them out, though. They win game 4 and they're favorites to win game 5 at home.

82% of teams going 2-1 ahead in a 7-game series win the series in the playoffs!

With Bosh definitely missing the rest of this series, and with no signs of Miami finding a plan B with the big B gone, Indiana are the favorites to win the series now IMO..

Steve Blake and his wife apparently got death threats on Twitter, supposedly from Laker 'fans'. Retarded how people can go and abuse/threaten a player and his family and then cheer for them the next day.

Mike and Mike were talking alot about the Heat blowing up this team if they don't win the title this year. Trading away Wade, the face of the franchise and apparently still the fans fav player down there, to bring in 2-3 good players to build a better supporting cast.

Imagine that... it's your club, you won a title with them years ago, you brought these other two big names in, and now you're the odd man out.

Thoughts?

I'm also of the opinion that if the Heat don't win the championship the big 3 will be blown up and Wade will the most at risk of being traded. It would be incredibly harsh as it's his team but he and James don't work well IMO and James, for all the choking, is the more talented player.

Last season there was talk that Miami may trade James for Howard, wonder if they'll think of doing that (1 superstar in, 1 out) or go for a better supporting cast if they decide to move on from the big 3.

Of course they have to blow up the trio if they don't get it done this year...this trio is sucking up a lot of cap space, and the support staff is not good enough.

Wade makes sense...and the absence of Bosh, shows how important he is to that team...but I still get the feeling, it'll be Bosh that gets pushed out. He is after all the third wheel in this picture.

Wade just turned 30, and has another 3-4 seasons of elite basketball left in him easily...but will the Heat get anything resembling fair value? I can't see it happening.

I would highly doubt that Miami would trade Wade or James, maybe if they could get Howard, but with his hernia who knows how he will be next season.

Maybe the Heat should try playing basketball instead of constant isolation plays.

David Stern will be cringing to see some of the smallest market teams in the NBA looking to head to the conference finals. As of 2011, San Antonio was the 4th smallest market among NBA teams, with 845,000 people in their market, compared to 7.5 million and 5.7 million for New York and LA. Indiana and OKC are two more of the smallest markets.

27. New Orleans 636K
26. Memphis 694K
25. OKC 705K
24. San Antonio 845K
23. Milwaukee 901K
22. Salt Lake City 954K
21. Indianapolis 1.11M

The other teams left:
14. Miami 1.58M
7. Boston 2.46M
4. Philly 3.02M
2. LA 5.67M

Always nice to see the small market teams competing, the owners were complaining the new collective bargaining agreement didn't allow the small teams to compete, but the best two teams in these playoffs are from two of the smallest markets.

Biggest 4th quarter of the series coming up in the Thunder/Lakers game. If the Lakers don't pull this one out, they'll be down 3-0 and barring a miracle of Moses parting the red sea proportions...they'll be done and dusted.

Lakers 99 Thunder 96

Lakers are back in the series, Kobe as usual put up big numbers(36 points), but Pau and Bynum came up big, as did Steve Blake, only a couple of nights after receiving death threats.

Gasol - 12 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists
Bynum - 15 points, 11 rebounds
Blake - 12 points, 8 rebounds

*Lakers went to the line 42 times, and made 41 of them

Good post-game comments from Spoelstra about that incident with Wade.. Wade needs to be the Dwyane Wade we know. I know he is struggling with injuries, but he should figure out a way to play with them, even though it's not easy for a player like him, who depends mostly on his athleticism in his game.

Miami has a better supporting cast than what's showing on the stat sheet at the moment.. If they can come together, and play with intensity like a team, they can still beat Indiana IMO.

I don't think Miami will trade Wade. It will be a stupid decision and it's very obvious that Wade is still the most loved player among the Heat fans. Nah, I don't think they'll do it.. I don't even think they'll blow up the big three. All they'll do probably is hire another coach.

Don't forget they can add another player with the mid-level exception next year, which could make a whole lot of a difference if they find the right guy at the right position.

Spurs come back from 24 down to beat the Clips by 10. They outscored the Clips 80-42 from the 8:30 mark in the 2nd quarter.

What a team, I can't see anything but injury stopping them from winning the title. That or someone like Durant or James will have to play like Nowitzki did in last season's final.

James isn't going to the finals, it looks like..

I don't think the Spurs are given enough respect and credit, only because they don't have "market-able players" in their team.. But man, what an achievement for them, that could even get better this year.. They drafted all three players that made the core of their team (Duncan was a 1st pick, Parker a 28th pick, and Ginobili a 57th pick!), and won FOUR championships already with them! And it doesn't even look like they're done yet!

Wow! I thought they were overlooked for most of the season - everyone was talking about OKC, Chicago and Miami not much was made of the Spurs going on long win streaks and ending up #1 seed.

Their form in the playoffs has been exceptional, as the Lakers are unlikely to win the championship I hope SA go on an win it - they'd be worthy champs.

Lakers choked and with that the series should be over. Pau didn't attempt a FG in the 4th and that's been a pattern this year with him taking fewer and fewer shots.

feck Pau. Kobe passed it to him for a wide open shot and what the feck does the cnut do? Gives the ball away. The fecker needs to be traded.

It's very strange, Pau used to play like Nowitzki, a little shake a bake before a fall back jumped from 20 feet and he was fantastic, an All Star on a bad team.

Amazing how little of his game comes out now. Perhaps he's struggling with some kind of back problem or other degenerative injury, hard to believe it's all mental.
