Nasri To City - Done Deal!

its difficult to say

first half of the season nani was outstanding - he invariably made the right decisions, looked like he might score every game and his assist record speaks for itself

i'm pretty sure the last time he scored though was against city (the rooney wondergoal game) and in the second half of the season he was wasteful, made poor decisions and was very inconsistent

at the same time when valencia came back from injury he was outstanding for the rest of the season - i think the only game he played in which he struggled was against barca (and all the players struggled)

valencia doesnt have the skills or raw talent that nani has but he doesnt need to do stepovers as he has raw pace, strength and is a great crosser - you only need to listen to someone like rooney talk about valencia to realise what he offers...i've never seen a player embarrass ashley cole the way valencia did this season

its a great problem to have - i just hope fergie can keep both players happy

Well, he did get injured to be fair and never seemed to recover. A part of that might be because he was stuck on the left for the most part after Valencia came back. I hope we keep both too, I'm just worried that if Nani isn't first option he'll leave and if he does I'm sure it's going to bite us in the behind.

I have nothing against Valencia, he's very good.

Edit: One thing is for sure, Fergie has a task ahead of him in keeping both happy ;)

Didn't nasri impress in midfield? I thought people where saying he blossomed once Fabregas was injured..or is he just a winger? Can he play midfield?

Some of his best games I thought were in the middle.

Really don't want him here to be honest. Can't see why we can't do better.

Me personally. I just want us to sign some players. i dont even care anymore who it is. Sanchez, Modric, nasri, Rodwell, Young whatever just sign somebody. feck even if it is some homeless guy who plays in 3rd portugal division, just give him a contract.

Nasri would probably play centre midfield if we signed him - a position he was brilliant in at times for Arsenal last year. In fact, I felt it was his best position, and that he sometimes suffered out wide in comparison.

He'd be an amazing signing if we're being honest - Modric is certainly no better, and Sneijder's probably the only player out of all the ones we keep getting linked to that is either better or at the same level.

Unfortunately, I can't see Wenger selling us Nasri. It'd be one of the most stupid transfers possible.

Nasri is a player for the future, especially for France. If he's unhappy in Arsenal, many clubs will try and sign him without any hesitation and if United will approach him with a decent contract, amazing thing can happen... an absolute shocker for Wenger and for United fans, also.

I guess, he can propably stay in Arsenal... at least for now.

He's a much better option than Luka Modric in the central position of the pitch. 15m max for him or 35m for Modric? Give me the former anytime

I'd be amazed if we aren't interested

Young, talented and cheap...it ticks all the boxes

I wonder what Eric Cantona would say on his move to Man United.

Nasri easily finds place in Blanc's team and with his talent and development he can become even better player for everyone.

Wenger will do everything to stop him, though... He knows, he can lose one of his finest soldier.

Is he in the last year of his contract, then? I keep seeing this £15m figure and am unable to keep calm....

Nasri is really, really fecking good, and still has room to improve. £15m for a player of his talent in this market would be a laughably good signing, especially considering that he's already Premiership proven.

This would infuriate Arsenal fans beyond belief as if there isn't already enough discontent there, lets sell one one our best players to Man Utd, who are already considerably better than us!

.......yes please.

You really are a fecking halfwit.

yep last year of his contract.

he'd go for ozil money probably.

low fee, 100k+ wages.

Wasn't Nasri's form last year when he was playing as the most attacking central midfielder in a 3? I.e. 2nd striker basically.

I'd like it to happen for a couple of reasons. He's a very good player who can play across the midfield, but more importantly has the creative spark we are currently lacking. His Premier League trained and proven, but also he will be relatively cheap (maybe).

There's also the added bonus it'll piss off Arsenal.

It's not even remotely on the cards, Nasri's agent has just pulled the United card trick which every agent in the world uses to increases wages.

Especially because at Arsenal this makes the alarm bells ring even louder.

They'll eventually offer him the wages he wants.

If they do (Which they will) then I can see the likes RVP etc kicking up a fuss on wanting more money and whoever they sign demanding some big bucks. Think it would be a small but significant step in ruining/changing Wenger's wage structure at the club

Nasri refuses to commit to Arsenal

Samir Nasri refuses to commit his future to Arsenal - ESPN Soccernet

Speaking to TF1's Telefoot ahead of France's game with Poland, Nasri said: "I don't know if I will sign a new contract. Anyway, the discussions are ongoing. For the moment, I don't think about this. We will speak about it after the match with Poland.

''Do I want to go to Man United? First, we should see if it's real and if it is concrete."

Evra must have tapped him up or something, but still, I call bullshit.

I'd take him in a heartbeat. He's a right cnut but a class player who is different to anything else we have in the squad and could develop a Scholes-like role in the team. And if those prices of 15m were realistic, I wouldn't just bite your hand off, I'd bite off your whole fecking arm.

Was a bit less advanced than the second striker role, in my opinion. Came a bit deeper than, say, Rooney when playing behind Hernandez. He'd be perfect for us - really good creative player with his dribbling and short passing, and versatile enough to be of use anywhere across the pitch, though I think he'd be an immense player for us centrally.

Shame it probably won't happen. :(

I would love it if he did come, he is a fantastic player. Imagine the possibilities if he came to United. He would step up to his top gear. I would be surprised if Arsenal would want to do business with us, it would still need to be a high offer to tempt them.

How do you mean, bullshit? Do you not actually believe we are interested in him, or do you think his agent is simply using us to get a better contract?

It's just his agent angling for a better contract.

Usually when players kick up a fuss about wages at Arsenal they're out the door pretty soon after, so I certainly wouldn't be counting my chickens if I were an Arsenal fan. They have a tight wage structure that means they just wont offer massive wages, and thats unlikely to change. Cole, Flamini, Hleb and Adebayor, to name but a few, all wanted higher wages but ended up leaving the club, despite having had excellent recent seasons.

Agree with this.

I think this is the only reason why Nasri hasn't signed a nice bumper 5 year contract.

If he really wants to leave Arsenal because they wouldn't offer him wages he demands, he will move abroad. He will have no trouble getting an offer from Milan, Inter, Barcelona or Madrid, Wenger won't sell him to us in a million years.

Nasri would be a great signing. 10 times better than young. Versatile and releatively cheap asking price.

If available signing him should be a no brainier. He reminds me of the current version of giggs. He can play wide but does not rely on pace to get pat players. And more importantly can run and dribble through the middle which is the great asset giggs gives us.
