Nasri To City - Done Deal!

Looks like Bender wants out too. Hands up who wants the best striker in the world?

They can just as easily whore him out to plenty of other clubs instead of us.

Regardless, as stated many times already, no doubt just a contract bargaining move.

They can try but if he wants to come here and we want him he can just refuse to join any club. If we want him, and he wants to come here, it'll happen.

i doubt arsenal would sell but would be a great signing for us - would do really well at the top of a midfield 3 i reckon

i really cant see arsenal selling though unless we made a stupid offer

nasri is a very good player but not good enough to justify a stupid offer

Gunners fans at Arsenal Mania aren't impressed by Nasri's comments, to say the least.

If we could get Nasri coupled with Anderson in the center, we could potentially have a dominating midfield for years to come.

If he was ours and came out with the same ambigious comments how would you feel?

On one hand I'd be mad but I'd feel Wenger was to blame in some way.

On another hypothethical point;

Young or Nasri?

Who would do the tackling/defending?

The thing is here is that Nasri probably has no intention of going to United - he'll be fine at Arsenal for the next couple of years, and if he wants to move on at that point, he will go to Spain. It's very rare for any transfer to be made between the top clubs in England, and I doubt Nasri will break the trend.

nasri...it's not even close. nasri's younger as well.

further more, you can't even use the snood comment to separate the two since young ponces about in a snood and gloves just as much.

mind you snoods are outlawed now.

If the Gooners sell him they may as well forget being in that elite fora few years

FWIW I agree entirely however whilst transfers between top clubs are rare it's not exactly unheard of.

Ok, Nasri looks better in a snood

Surely that would depend entirely upon how he was replaced?

Well given how reluctant they've been to spend, a replacement of his caliobre would cost....and I doubt if their fans would accept another "potential"

Absolutely no chance of Nasri joining United, it's just a ruse from his agent to get more cash.

If we sold Nasri to United, I'm pretty sure there would be some kind of revolt if he wasn't replaced with an already established player. It's a bit of a moot point though, given it'll never happen. Wenger isn't stupid, he knows how unpopular he'd be.

It's not up to Wenger.

The ball is firmly in Nasri's court.

-Arsenal pay him what he wants
-allow him to leave for less than he's worth
-Nasri runs down his contract, and get to choose the club of his choice as early as January

Young or Nasri?

NASRI by a country mile.

He's been nothing short of brilliant this season.

That said, I would be amazed if Arsenal allowed him to leave let alone come to us. No way.

Young is much more likely which doesn't excite me at all. I've never been that impressed by Young, although stats and YouTube vids tell a different tale. I've seen Villa's matches plenty of times, and Young seemed to go missing quite often. Nasri, on the other hand, is a player who is able to lift his team even when they are underperforming.

Of course it's still up to Wenger, at least at this point.

Should it become apparent that Nasri won't sign a new deal, Arsenal will start touting him to everyone who'll listen. We could flog him anywhere, especially if we offered him up cheap. There's no way the only interest will come from United, and consequently we'd sell him somewhere else.

There is no way on earth that Nasri will wind his deal down here. Either he signs a contract or he leaves this summer. And it will almost certainly not be to United.

If, Nasri insists he wants to play for United, and if United are interested a deal will be done. If not this summer, next season. However, I reckon his agent is using United as a negotiating tool to get his client a better deal.

I don't agree at all, simply because I don't think Nasri has that much power. If he's desperate to leave Arsenal, we'll just flog him abroad, but that's just my view on it. I agree on your last sentence.

If he ever comes to us it's on a free. Champions doesn't mean shit if Arsenal flat out won't sell one of their best players to us, which they won't.

you said never in a million years he'd come here..which is obviously not the case ;) Who knows? I've not idea what our plans are. If we could snatch nasri from under their noses we could bring someone else in which would really re-enfocrce our midfield. We'll just have to wait and see. He could easily resign, but I'm not sure Arsenal give players the confidence of old

If Nasri does want to sign for us and if we're interested in him, than no matter what Wenger says it'll be done. He has only one year left in his contract, why would Arsenal want to keep a player that is unhappy and whose value will only diminish in future. He could easily refuse a move abroad, and honor his contract and leave on a free next year.

How likely is this though? If Nasri did that, he'd prove himself to be a complete twat. He'd never refuse a move abroad.

I'm not saying Nasri wants to come to United or that it is likely, but we live in the times of player power, why should he move country if he doesn't want to? In the end he will end up doing whatever he wants, my guess is that will be signing the 110K a week contract Arsenal give in to.

Denial. He could say, i don't want to sign anywhere else and i'll run my contract out if you don't let me sign for united...who could then say wait until jan and we'll sign you then for a lesser fee .....I don't envy you guys but then again we know what it's like. I think you are underestimating how much power (sadly) players have

Berbatov basically sulked his way to united and united still took him. Clubs/people will do what they want and Nasri is in a very strong position. Sadly its the clubs who suffer.

Speaking hypothetically if it's a move he wants to engineer then it's foreign climes he's seeking not here

I think you over-estimate United's pulling power to Nasri. If Nasri genuinely wants to leave, it's for trophies. He could get them at United, but he could do it abroad as well. There's just no way it's happening.

How could i over estimate uniteds pulling power when you acknowledge he'd want to leave for trophies?...To me it sounds like your in denial. It's cool. It'll be a long hot sticky summer hehe. Personally I blame agents but you worry when it's end of season and he's 1) making a noise and 2) basically saying he would consider another offer from an English club. I don't think he can make it more obvious. He already disrespected Arsenal by saying it

Not that likely I agree.

If he sticks around, he'll have trophies with us at some point. And he knows that, and thus the contract will be signed next week.

You speak as if he's a slave. He can sign a contract or refuse to sign one for whatever club he likes. If he wants to join United and Arsenal don't allow it, it doesn't matter who they try flog him too he can wait 3 months and move to us in January, for a lot less.

Arsenal, like any other football club, liek it or not, is a business and holding onto a player who's losing value by the day doesn't make sense and thus it wouldn't happen. I agree with the majority though in that he's after a better contract.

Absolutely stupid to let Nasri get to the summer without signing a new contract with only a year on his current one left. Madness.

I also think that the contract might be signed too, he is just using as a bait to increase his wages at Arsenal.

He won't be signing next week. Trust me, he's waited this long he will keep you guys waiting.
