Nasri To City - Done Deal!

Nasri said he wanted to go to somewhere to win titles. It wasn't about the money!

Yes, but one of the titles might be 'Greedy Twit of the Year'.

Yeah, mate; to be fair, I read that Nasri's only on 45k p.w. at Arsenal. He's surely worth more than that?

I can see this place imploding if Nasri goes to City and Modric goes to Chelsea while we don't buy a midfielder at all. If we sold Carrick to Newcastle and Anderson to Inter to go with it, world would end.

Well I think the uproar would be bloody well warranted if we sold our midfield without replacing it don't you?

can see us not getting Nasri for whatever...but why in the world would we get rid of our current midfield players?

For the laugh. When I think of it, we could probably sell Fletcher to Everton as well.

we can all forget about Nasri joining us then , another transfer target bite the dust.

FFS its in the Mail and Sun who I'm pretty sure said that we are gonna sign Sanchez. I guess nothing will be sorted until Nasri returns from holiday.

I'm pretty sure The Mail pulled that story off their website a while after uploading it, according to Twitter anyway.

Clearly city are negotiating with arsenal. City have briefed the mail and sun, arsenal the express and mirror. It's all to get more money from city. I think he'll go there. I'm not convinced we're even trying hard to sign him.

I agree with you on that score. It's been very well worked spin ever since his contract situation came up and I expect him to re sign for the Arse with a nice fat increase

Why? If you're Nasri, why would you sign a new contract with Arsenal?

He wont win trophies. He wont get wages as high as at other clubs. Why on earth would he want to sign a new contract?

So if he ends up sticking with Arsenal by getting a pay rise to 100k+ a week, does that he mean he stayed for the money or somehow he had a dream about himself winning trophies with Arsenal?

All bollocks. No one has a clue what they are writing about. Would like this put to bed asap tbh.

Running joke as with Sanchez.

Well Ekeke, there are no guarantees on any of the latter points

Yes, there are.

Its Arsenal. There are teams who are much more likely to win trophies, as the last 5 or 6 years have shown. There are teams who will pay more than Arsenal as we know and at least 1 of those is interested in Nasri.

To me there's no change. Why people get themselves in a wanking frenzy over nothing is beyond me. These papers, are full of shite. When will people learn to not believe them?

"I don't want to sign for a club where I wouldn't be playing the football that I like, where I wouldn't feel happy, just for the sake of money."

I particularly like this quote. Hopefully that's a feck off City I'm joining United.

I personally think it's the exact opposite and he'll be joining City.

Just softening up the Arsenal fans and keeping his conscience clear by stating publicly that money isn't his primary motivation.

How do you came to that conclusion?
Just because Mail and Sun are reporting that the deal is done, doesn't mean it's done and they're getting briefed by the Citeh.

Sun and Mirror just weeks ago decided that we've completed the deal for Sanchez for 27Mil. Mirror have reported that we're in more advanced position than Citeh. So as the Guardian and Telegraph.

I'd have to agree with that.

If City offer him wages that we can't match (which is likely) then he'll be playing in blue next season.

I said the exact same thing a few pages back and got slated. Victim.

I'm sure Arsenal fans are stupid, but even they wont buy that if he goes to City.

Even if money isnt his motivation but he goes to City anyway because they can challenge for the title and play in europe, all the Arsenal fans are going to dismiss him as a money grabbing git, comments to the contrary or no

I think he's going to City, too. Everyone says the same thing about it not being money and all that but in the end that's what it is .. and I also think Arsenal would rather sell to City than to us, selling to us would make their fans even more irate.

That's how they'll see him, no matter where he ends up.

Won't stop him trying to portray himself as something different though.

The thing about Utd is that we never make it publically known that we're actually going to go and try to get a player or have made a bid for them. De Gea is the only one I can really think of lately when Fergie decided to say that.

We get linked with almost every player on the market nowadays without any actual proof that we've even inquired for them, let alone made a bid, and sometimes it comes to fruition like with Ashley Young but I don't recall there being an actual bid mentioned before that?

Basically, it's all speculation til we sign the player or have confirmed full on that contract talks/medicals have taken place with the player. None of these have happened with Nasri in the slightest, it's really all through comments by him that we're being linked so heavily.

I'm not being optimistic on this one.

I'll be really disappointed if we dont even bid for the fecker, which was the case with Ozil last year.

I can't believe anybody would even regard those articles as news. The Sun and The Mail have about as much clue as we do. Until it's officially announced I would treat it with the same disregard I do most tabloid crap.

As soon as I saw those quotes at the weekend I thought he was off to City, for the reasons I've already stated.
