God, I'm an idiot. Well, at least my excuse is quite good: I'm at work, answering phones, so I was distracted. ;) fecking work, always distracting me from reading transfer news!

Sorry!

Oh..you should quit work immediately

Silvestre was a very good player for us.

Good old Tweety...

I disagree that he was a good player for us, he had too many nightmare moments & i wasnt bothered he went to Arsenal whatsoever. We signed him the Summer we won the Champions League - talk about strengthening what you have & we ended up with an Inter reject. He wasnt the worst, just was a liability at Centre-half & left-back...

Great nickname for him back then on reflection. His head was bulbus-shaped like Tweety's, but not only that - the cat was ironically called Sylvester

IF Nasri wants out and the suggestion that they need to balance the books is correct, how do those tally? Arsenal are guaranteeing themselves the loss of around £25m (between transfer fees they would have had and the wages on his remaining year) and they'll have to buy a player to replace him next summer.

It doesn't seem the Wenger way to me, though being raided by rivals is a new-ish trick, I suppose.

I don't see how they can afford not to sell if Nasri insists he won't sign a new contract. It would effectively cost them £25m to have him for one more season. Not worth it.

I'd say you do a 1-year extension. Nazza gets (some of ) the money and if 'his ambitions' aren't being satisfied by next summer we flog him for a fee.

Arsenal will have to sell - they're still paying for the new stadium, and the extension on Wenger's coat.

Evening Steve.

think they want more money it sounds like.

heck he can sign an agreement in Jan right?

yeah. I agree they have to sell him.

'Evening, Lord Dreams. :D

I just think that a 'hardball' approach by Arséne would fail with Nasri; in fact, it might even make him more determined to leave.

I was convinced he would sign a new long term contract, but this does seem to be dragging on. Maybe he will force through a move.

*sigh* Ladies & gentlemen, the British press:

The Mirror: Nasri not for Sale
The Mail: Tax-dodging Foreigners sign Immigrant
Goal.com: Any old Shit
The Star: Ryan Giggs slept with my Budgie

If you're really interested in the football 'project' (cnutish term they all use) then there probably isn't a more ambitious one than ours. You can join Barca and arrive there tomorrow but everybody else is on a catch-up mission.

first off, the CL is not probably his main priority.

The title I expect is what he would be hoping for.

That would be the main target for the top English teams which Arsenal certainly are.

But the fact he believes he cannot win it with Arsenal must be the most troubling aspect of this stance he has taken.
