Yes, it should. As one for the future. The next step for him is to play regular reserve team football.

what exactly is regular reserve team football? Most kids only play half a season or get loaned out these days...infact lots of reserve kids play in something called the carling cup and that's not after they've been on loan. What you fail to remember is academy and reserve football is basically the same. You play against kids at both levels (reserves 9.9/10) so a season in reserve football is overrated. What does it give you? Sod all thats what. Thats why teams loan players out or play them in inferior competitions.

There won't be a shitstorm. The shitstorm with Rooney was because of who it was, not what he was doing.

Look at how comparatively little Tevez gets any media attention for constantly "doing a Rooney". The English media don't care about foreign players.

not because of who he was but who he played for - ever heard of Cantona, Ronaldo?

the things that Gerrard and Shearer got away with would've been front page news had they played for United

First Evra, now Rio - both within a week. We're definitely interested.

My quotes about Samir Nasri are not recent(not that the papers let u know this)I spoke about him was waaaaay before any speculation started.

From Rio's twitter today.

Honestly, the media there is a joke.

I don't think that twitter quote is actually from Rio, the spelling is suspiciously good.

Of course i've seen Nasri play Alex, what kind of stupid question is that. Mac, i've never seen him play DM. I wasn't aware he ever did play that position for Arsenal.....

A midfield combo of Nasri - Anderson simply would not work. Sure both of them can put a foot in if required but neither of them are defensive players. You need someone that will take on the responsibily of holding position when we're attacking. To be honest I doubt Nasri's capability of playing in a 442 at all. When he's at his best for Arsenal he's playing centrally but has Song and Wilshere nehind him offering up some protection.

To be honest apart from maybe Fletcher and the midfieldish defenders (the da Silvas and O'Shea, maybe DeLaet at a strech), there's no central midfielder left that does that at the club.

Well maybe Pogba.

Carrick has played deeper than Fletcher for ages now. Never understood why people still see Fletcher as the more defensive of the two.

Pogba is hardly a defensive midfielder - sure he can put himself about, but he's best on the ball and driving forward. Good shot on him, nice footwork, and not a bad pass - play him as an anchorman and you'd be hideously misusing him

Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri has played down speculation that he could be set to leave Emirates Stadium.

The France international has seen his future with the North London club thrown into doubt following an interview in which he refused to rule out the possibility of joining Manchester United.

United are in the market for a new creative playmaker this summer following Paul Scholes' decision to hang up his boots after a glittering career.

Nasri is among the names to have been linked with a move to the 19-times English champions, and he did little to quell the speculation with his recent comments.

But the former Marseille man, who also fired off a foul-mouthed reply to one follower on the social networking site, has now moved to ease the concerns of Gunners fans.

Nasri wrote on Twitter: "I just want tell you don't listen (to) the newspaper and the rumours I will let you know if something happen."

How much would he cost us and do we really need him?

We definitely need a central midfielder. He will cost us around £15m because he is in his last year of contract but there is absolutely no fecking chance of him coming to United.

Unless he pushes for the move himself. If Nasri is bound and determined to force a move to United, there's very little Arsenal can do about it. We've seen it time and time again. Players, especially the more high profile ones, hold the whip hand.

If the talk of Fabregas leaving is true then Wenger really needs to be going all out to keep Nasri. Losing both of them in the same summer would be huge.

Wenger has already said that Nasri will "definitely not" be sold to United and yet the Metro still stick us in their headline.

Metro is worse than caughtoffside and tribal and that's going some.

Fergie also said he wouldn't sell Madrid a virus. And Florentino Pérez said they wouldn't go for Beckham.

I don't think Nasri will come here but managers and chairmen often talk out of their arse.

Hearing from #MUFC insider that Young is a done deal and #AFC Nasri to def follow soon - hard to believe but stranger things have happened!

Probably a load of nonsense... but if the Nasri deal comes off, topped with Young, Jones & de Gea then i'll be a very, very happy red

where is that from.
twitter ITKs are idiots. the young bit was on SSN. I am certain we wont sign Nasri

surely not

Maybe it's because he's viewed as second best at Arsenal or the fact that they play with 3 in midfield week in week out but I'm not sure Nasri is the answer tbh.

Good player and will improve the squad but can he step up and be the main man in a 2 man midfield for us? I have doubts.

Now him and another in the Modric, Sniejder mould

Incidently SSN showed fans buying the new Arsenal shirt from their club shop and one fan is convinced that Nasri is joining us...

Apparently a Daily Mirror journo has said that about Nasri

Says it all really

:lol::lol::lol:

Ahhhhhhhh the arrogance of youth! I remember a certani frenchman signing for us in 92, the season after he had won one of our bitterest rivals the title....snatching it from us at the death......yet there is "absolutely no fecking chance of him coming to United".............

Maybe we're getting no joy with Modric and Sneijder, so we're going all-out for Nasri?
