Nani will reignite our charge to the title

You gotta love the confidence and maturity oozing out of him at the moment. Hopefully he can help inspire our team against Bayern Munich because this is one of the biggests tests of our season, and we must not fail.

We failed. :annoyed:

But Nani's individual performance was awe inspiring against Bayern. You could see the desire and commitment in his play. He really gave everything for the team and he visibly looked shattered at one point having to lead the line after we went down to 10 men.

Take a bow and keep up the good work.

It was also great to see him leading the team when we were down to 10 men. Asked to play as a lone frontman it would have been easy to just wilt under the pressure and go back to one of the awful performances of the past. Give the ball away non-stop, not chase lost causes and so on... But that run where Evra put him in not only showed the great understanding those two have, but also that he has heart and commitment to the cause - which some have doubted in his time here. In fact a dizzyness seemed to come over him when he took the corner after the keeper saved his effort. Such was his willingness to push himself in that move, it looked like he'd outrun himself there.

Both he and Valencia showed brilliant character to try and do it without Rooney. A few more attacking players with that character and ability to lead us when we're up against it and then maybe we could have even done it with 10 men.

He almost fell over before he took a corner, but kept on going.

Yea it looked like it was everything he had running after that ball and then getting the shot off! When I ran long distances and was winded my side would hurt and I would get dizzy as well. I'm excited for him in the World Cup and for next season. He finally seems to be getting it now!

Deserved to be on the winning side tonight.

Could have had a hat-trick.

Should have ... god should he have. Rafael could have laid one on for him and the breakaway he should have finished. He seemed to slow down and then right after on the corner became dizzy.

Sell Nani, cause he didn't get the hat-trick that would have put us through today.

I am probably the most cynical guy on this board, so when I saw him dizzy before taking the corner, I thought he was milking the whole thing, but then you have to take everything into consideration. I dont think i'd ever seen him run so fast over 80 metres, and that was a full on sprint towards the end of the game, in which we were playing with 10 men. Amazing desire and effort.

Well done Nani, keep it up.

I'm proud of him. Watching him this season has been like seeing your child take his first steps.

Simply amazing turnaround considering a lot of fans wanted him sold a couple of months ago.

Nani has had performances as good as tonights for the past 3 seasons.

His problem is is he plays like this one week, and total utter horseshit the next. Still, put him on the first team sheet week in week out, give him a run and see if it builds his confidence. He wasn't helped by that ridiculous red card at Villa though, which halted his progress just when he was last looking a great player. Keep him in the side week in week out, because he's streets ahead, creativly than Park.

I still think that this isn't Nani's true form. He has so much more potential. Why is Ribery still considered better than him ? It's because he sticks to the wings too much when he does have the ability to drift to the center to create things... If we can see him do more like this match, I'm still pretty sure that he is another good player in the making. As for Valencia, 2 great assists today and I couldn't have been happier. This is probably our most best wing play since the start of the season and we finally found our true formation. The 1st half was breathtaking stuff.

The past few months he's been pretty consistent though.

Only criticism tonight was later in the second half he got a bit selfish. Looking for the hattrick is fair enough but there were times on the touchline that he just hung onto the ball for too long, tried to be too tricky instead of just keeping possession - something we struggled with after the sending off.

Nani has been excellent today (recently). Not just important goals, but also his effort, tracking back, he gave his all! If he keeps on improving on that, he will become on hell of a player

Because he's 4 years older and most of the posters here didnt have to sit through him learning the game, making mistakes and putting in poor performances before he really announced himself at the top of the game from the age of 23 onwards.

There is absolutely no reason Nani cant be a better player than he is, at the same stage of development and same age that he is. In his prime as you might say.

All young players need to learn, even Messi and Ronaldo needed to. Some players learn faster than others and those two were freaks. Nani and Ribery have a longer path to greatness.

What a performance.. 4 of the best wingers on show today and he manages to play like that. Sublime.

He is a feckin ponce though, I thought the cnut was having a heart attack when he was taking that corner, put the shits up me & the ref too I reckon  Some feckin player on his day though

Really? Try running full pelt then slowing down then see if you feel dizzy.

Nani has turned from being absolutely shite to being one of the best players at the club. He has certainly proved me wrong in the last while. Fair play to him. He was tremendous tonight.

fecking outstanding performance tonight...a couple of kissing the badge moments...the guy is turning my opinion big style.

He's become a good player. Sorry I doubted the ponce.

2nded... I wasn't sure after the poor intelligence and decision-making he showed at times at the start of the season (after his initial burst of excellence.) I just hope he can up his consistency. Valencia was absolutely smashing too, tonight... which isn't bad for a team that's bemoaned its lack of wingers for a wee while.

Is it my imagination or has Nani suddenly become a decent defender. This tracking back and tenacity was fantastic.

Is it my imagination or has Nani started to look better once Anderson has been out...
