Being a firm supporter of Nani since he signed for the club, I'm glad he's finally paying me back with some good performances.

Long may it continue.

Still don't think He's our long term left winger and I'm sure we can find a player better suited to this position this summer but for now he's getting on by steadily and putting in professional performances.

He is:

a) Our best dead-ball specialist (corners and free-kicks)

b) Our best long-range shot specialist.

c) Our most tricky winger.

All the above attributes help teams to win tight games. Hopefully he apologises to SAF, buries the hatchet with SAF and gets a run of a few games. We will all be suprised how well he can do.

Come on Nani.

You are the oracle

Ran hard all game even when he wasnt able to create. Worked back to win the ball well too. And then in the second half he found some space to create 2 goals and put Bolton to sleep.

Great tracking back today.

The crowds support will improve his confidence I hope...he needs consistency because he's had far too many false dawns. Hopefully the new contract increases his confidence.

Very well done by him today. Created two goals, plus I thought he worked his ass off. He was always putting himself about and trying to win the ball back.

More of that please Nani.

Agree with the comments, many times today found myself saying 'well played Nani', MOTM (joint).

He is literally getting better by the game, imagine what he will be like next season.

His tracking back is amazing. Seriously, the number of times he got back to help out the defence, control the ball and did the simple thing of just passing it away to keep us in possession.

Something that im liking about Nani since the Hull game is his workrate (now i thought he would track back most of the times before) whenever Evra pushes up you see him willingness to bust a gut and get back. In the first half he looked out of it but his defending and workrate really made up for it, then in the second half 2 brilliant pieces of skill that make a goal for his team mates.

Hard to believe this is the same Nani that people would flame week in week out

Good to see him clearly working hard for the side and wonderful play for his two assists.

He's always put in a shift, people just never noticed it as they had already decided he was a lazy, selfish, play-acting twat.

Are the top reds all Nani fans again now?

I don't know about anyone else, but I've always been a fan of Nani. Yes there was a time I believed he may be sold, not because I wanted him to be but because of his outburst about SAF. I've always said I'd love nothing more than to see Nani realise his potential, and it finally looks like he's now on his way to doing that.

Sensational today.. against a tough physical side and he more than held his own, pleased for him.

He's never been a lazy player so a weird criticism to level at him, just that his intelligence in terms of tracking back has improved but with a regular run of games that was bound to happen.

aye, some just have a permanent dislike for Nani and no matter what he wont be in their good books. Some like yourself resigned themselves to the fact he was a goner but now are chuffed for the lad.

feck the haters nani

Well said! Never, ever understood that criticism, fecking Stevie Wonder would've been able to see that he tracked back a lot, but it was probably Craig Burley or some other shite commentator that mentioned it and was stuck in people's minds and used against him.

I figured it was only a matter of time, patience and support until he performed like this. He's been playing very well in the second half of the season and seems much more comfortable in the team. I hope he continues to develop exponentially because he has all the ability required. Once again today he helped to make the difference for us.

Of course there is still plenty of room for improvement. His goal threat seems to have dropped off a bit though and I defnitely wouldnt mind seeing a few backflips again.

I think he finally stopped trying to beat the defense all by himself and do a Ronaldo. His link up play is great lately. I think he got all 4 assists today?

He's looking top class right now. Now all we need is him to continue his trajectory, and Anderson to come back and have a similar quantum leap, and we'll stop hearing all this '30 million pound flops' shite the press, ABUs etc always regurgitate

in the past he would track back, true, but when he would lose the ball or the other team were on a counter you would see him stroll back But now u see him really put in effort to help the team defend, even in the attacking third he's willing to pressure fall backs n chase people down - that's what I mean when i say his work rate has improved because we see it more regularly than his previous years

I sooo want Anderson to do the same...hail the class of 2007!

The assist for Gibson was really pleasing because of the sheer simplicity of it. That's all you need to do. Make yourself a half yard of space (which Nani has always been good at) and then selecting the easy option...
