Mykhaylo Mudryk | Reported - Failed doping test

That's what you get when you think you're clever poaching another teams target, but actually have no real idea what you're buying.

Was Arsenal's offer the same as Chelsea's and he choose them because of $$$?

The kid has been put in a tough situation. Coming from the Ukrainian league to the PL for 80 million just shouldn't happen. It's also a team that isn't working and isn't being managed well, so pretty much everything is working against him. I would reserve judgement until Potter has gone.

Why on earth does he take the shot that early? He is probably the fastest man on the pitch. He could easily take another touch or two.
Think he'd have to move it onto his left though. Agreed he got to take another touch

Why do people hate him in here again?

What's the origin story.
No one hates him. If you’re an expensive signing for a top 6 club and you don’t hit the ground running, you’ll get heavily scrutinised. Same thing happened with Grealish, Pepe, Antony, Richarlison and now it’s Mudryk’s turn. Although, the Ukrainian didn’t paint himself in good light with his social media antics. Constantly flirting with Arsenal and then a last minute move to Chelsea doesn’t help your image.

No. Arsenal's offer was not accepted by Shaktar so the player's choice was Chelsea or Shaktar, not Chelsea or Arsenal.
I don't blame him at all. Edu didn't wrap up the deal as quick as he can.

I think there's an element of Potters management effecting the forward players games. It's also a trait he exemplified at Brighton who now under a different manager are a free scoring team. That's Mudryk, Sterling look below par and Ziyech / Pulisic have done nothing of any significance. I don't think Potter is a bad manager but he does seem to handicap a teams attacking capability.

If Chelsea is willing to sell and the price is right, Arteta and Edu probably will come back for him.

Chelsea already has FFP issues from next season it seems. They are not booking a loss. And no one is buying him at his outstanding book value for next few years. By which time there would be many new wingers popping up.

He has to make it at Chelsea or else he is going to go on a run of loans as Chelsea have payed way over his value.

Arsenal looking like dodging a bullet and more importantly striking gold with that Trossard deal.

Looking like a really expensive Daniel James.

With space he's electric but against packing defenses he looks bang average. I think Chelsea feck up big time here.

He looks like he could be good but his teammates seem to ignore him.

I suspect he’s not a favourite in the dressing room and so nobody wants to pass to him.

He reminds me of when I plunked down real money on the potential of Ethereum about a year ago.

This season should be considered as bedding period for most of the players, i think next season we will see much better performance from most Chelsea players. Don't think they are playing anything close to what they are capable of.

Definitely a bedding period as they are getting fecked most weeks!

Have to say at the moment the only reason I feel he’s got quality is that Arsenal were willing to spend 60-70m on him. I refuse to believe that Arteta and Edu could get it so badly wrong. He’s shown nothing so far though, erratic first touch and seriously poor awareness and vision. To think people thought he’d be a starter for us ahead of Martinelli, I wouldn’t even swap him for Trossard right now, and he cost 20m.
Since mudryk joined Chelsea he’s had one assist. In that time Trossard has notched up 1 goal and 7 assists , with Martinelli scoring 6 and assisting once.

All joking aside feck me you have to give players time to bed in.
Surely he can still turn it around, but at this moment getting Trossard for 24M is looking way better than Mudryk for 100M.

Kovacic played a cracking pass to him to break him free. The way he handled it though...

I mean they did sign Lokonga, Tavares and Willian.

Lokonga cost £15mil and Tavares £8mil. Fair fees for young, highly rated (by their clubs) players at the time. Not at all comparable to breaking the bank for Mudryk.
Willian turned out to be awful business. He was a free transfer but I think we paid him £10mil to sign and was on about £200k/week wage. He was also a seasoned, PL proven player when we signed him so I can see why we made the deal. Thankfully both parties agreed to tear up the contract when he left, class from him.

Arsenal weren’t far off the fee chelsea paid for Mudryk though so it would have been close to “breaking the bank”. I do think Mudryk would have performed better at Arsenal than he has at Chelsea, however I’m still not convinced he’s good enough.

Mudryk is definitely a player who will take time to adjust. He’s very raw but there’s definite talent there.

He looked good initially then got bench for weeks and didn’t get any minutes and it has clearly taken a toll on his confidence to the point he looks nervous.

I have been all for giving Potter time to adjust but his time for adjustment is impacting on so many players now. He has done the same with Badiashile who looked excellent and plays Cucurella in a back 3 instead of him.

I’m more worried about Potter than Mudryk or Badiashile now.

Looks in poor form. Not sure if he’s simply not good enough or it’s a confidence issue. His displays internationally have also been sub standard.

Guaranteed £100k a week for 8 years will do wonders for your appetite to improve.

Edu signed off on Nicolas Pepe didn't he? Arty's input is limited compared to Edu.
