I do think Shaktar must have been pinching themselves when they asked Chelsea/Arsenal for 100m and they actually went and paid it.if only one of their expensive signings is going to flop, it's going to be him. Raw and unpolished player who got overhyped to no ends, going from Ukraine to the PL in the middle of the season ... to a club that has signed about 74 new players in a short period of time. That's not a recipe for success.
Arsenal would have been a much better landing spot for him IMO.
He nearly had a lovely assist if Havertz could one day stay onside.
I was a bit annoyed that Potter took off Mudryk and Cucurella at the same time. Would have liked to see Mudryk play with Chilwell for a bit. But I understand limiting his minutes since these are his first games since November.
The top sides won't give him acres of space to run eitherHe looks explosive, but if they will be playing against teams who are defending with 10 man and deep line, his pace will not be of much use.
He will however look good in Champions league if Chelsea play against any top side, with his off the ball runs, he will get them up the field and be a good weapon on the counter.

True - but with an even average left back perhaps he'll actually get passed the ball

Isn't Cucurella suppossed to be world class?

Agreed. This looks totally as an instruction from the manager. I remember the first game(s) under Tuchel where he wasn't that one dimensional. Bit crazy imagining having Brighton's former POTY and also his former manager all the while Cucurella looks like he totally forgot how to play football.Cucurella is well capable of attacking & forward passes. Looks more like Potter's tactics to retain ball & play via the center (Enzo who recorded 96 passes, twice as much as Fred/Sabitzer in the Leeds game if I see right). If the instruction to him is "don't lose the ball", there's not much he can do (it's evidenced when he lifts his head up to see where Mudryk is, then takes the safe route).

Yep he definitely is.
Same for me. He had a bad start with the price tag he got, guess the pre season for Chelsea wasn't that great in general as well, then playing alongside a newly brought in Koulibaly who wasn't providing the rock solid defensive cover (at all). Then there goes the manager and by now he must have lost a good chunk of self esteem. Think he will come good once the dusk settled at Chelsea (if it does) - will get played a lot less of course once Chilwell is truly back.He was never a show stopper, but I can't help but get the feel Chelsea are wasting him. Sort of reminds me of Luke Shaw under Mourinho/LVG. Won't be surprised if City make a cheeky 20m bid for him next season and he suddenly morphs into prime Roberto Carlos after that.
Yep he definitely is.
I could find better highlights of Jesse Lingard, and I'm not talking about his dancing. Cucurella is easily one of the worst players in the "top 6", he is a Championship level player at best and that's on a good day.
Mudryk looks like a waste of space at the moment.
Badiashile looks alright, while Enzo Amore and Joao Felix are doing their best but still floundering.
