apparently he has no issues with the younger players.Except Rooney and his 300,000 reasons, does anyone actually like Moyes?

De Gea and co? I hope so, I'm seriously worried he'd want to leave after another midtable season.apparently he has no issues with the younger players.

I just go back to the Tim Howard article I posted earlier about what's changed at Everton since Moyes left: http://www1.skysports.com/football/...-howard-praises-everton-boss-roberto-martinez
I've underlined the key bits:
Tim Howard has paid tribute to the methods of manager Roberto Martinez, with the Everton squad brimming with belief.
Since succeeding David Moyes at Goodison Park, Martinez has helped to build on the foundations put down by his predecessor.
The Toffees are very much in the hunt for a top-four finish, with just two points separating them from arch-rivals Liverpool and a place in the UEFA Champions League spots.
Howard credits Martinez with having pushed Everton back towards that elite group, with the Merseyside outfit playing without fear.
The American goalkeeper said: "No matter what game we go into, the focus has not at any point this season been on the other team - it has always been about us.
"You have to do this 40 weeks of the year, it is nice not to come into work every day thinking 'Oh, that's looming ahead'.
"The manager keeps us bright and bubbly and focused on ourselves. Not always having to look over your shoulder at who is coming next is good.
"We work on ourselves and it's a difference. The manager will have some specific areas in which he thinks Tottenham are weak, or Sunderland, Crystal Palace or whoever are weak.
"We'll train on trying to exploit them, as opposed to 'Here is what they are going to do to hurt us and this is what we are going to do to defend against them'. That is not in the manager's nature.
"The way his mind works, it is like the move A Beautiful Mind. He always sees holes in the other team. He doesn't see the danger, he seeks the weaknesses and gets us working on that.
"We have a pattern to our play and a style that we all believe in and we have seen that it works.
"The positive for me is that every time we step on the pitch we know how we are going to win."
All elements that were seemingly missing at Everton under Moyes. All elements clearly missing at United under Moyes.
player's form doesn't depend exclusively on the relationship with the manager. There may be other things, like injuries, personal issues, poor team form in general and so on.And we know this because players like Rafael, Smalling, Cleverley are looking better than ever?

what imo may be more visible in terms of a strained relationship between a player and a coach is when a player looks disinterested on the pitch eg Rooney last year and rvp at times this year.
Decent read. This space covering aspect isn't something I've overly noticed, but I definitely feel we're lacking any cohesive attacking game plan. I felt it was evident again on Saturday, even having scored four goals, we truly can be offensively tactless. I don't think Moyes has it in himself to formulate an imaginative and attacking game plan, it is simply not ingrained in him at all. I feel he'll need to surround himself with modern footballing men, much like Ferguson. I'm unsure he will though, unfortunately.interesting piece examining Moyes's tactics here:

Very telling. Thanks for re-posting. Seems like a major shift in mindset-from being reactive and worrying about the other team to learning a system and making it effective. This is indeed what we're doing at the moment.
Worst tactician in the premiership... plays players out of position and out of form... brings subs on with 4 mins to go.... awful awful awful
not inept, overly defensive.
His inability to use the best players for their position is incredible. He selects the XI with minor attributes and not their actual strenghts. What does he manage if he only picks the most self-managing people and while his tactic is to defend for a draw and maybe snatch a win, we have material to win bad teams like Sunderland, and the track record for actually defending a draw this season doesn't really exist. We've been shipping in goals like **** and we don't pose a threat up front.
He\s always been the same.
Even a few years ago when we were ace alot of the same things were being said.
Its his brilliance in the transfer market at assembling a quality team for little money which makes him look like a good manager.
But its his constant failures at tactics once the whistle goes that make him look like a bad manager.
That's only the first page. Why did Cahill earn a recall?? Heitinga and Neville in the middle of the park??
McFadden over Straq?? Gueye over Barkley???
If Moyes thinks survival is good enough with this squad he is having a laugh.
MOYES OUT!!!!! Unforgivable, Negative, Embarrassing.
Forget Bilyaletdinov, Messi would struggle under Moyes.
i was answering another question. Anyway, re: performances this year, i think overall the younger players fared better - de gea, jones, smalling, januzaj welbeck on the same level as last year. Worst players compared to last year performances imo were Río vidic carrick rvp. Others like Valencia, young, cleverley, nani were crap as last year. Rafael,Evans missed a lot of games so they can't really be judgedDoes it matter if Rafeal, Smalling & co are buddies with him or not if they're not showing it on the pitch?
He could have killed their pets for all I care if we're top of the league.
i m sure that if you search the caf you ll find similar posts about fergie. And the same with any other manager except those who are new to the job and achieved immediate success like Rodgers and Martinez - till now but their time ll come tooThis popped up on my Twitter feed. Everton fans back in '11 unimpressed with Moyes tactically.
David Moyes - Tactically Inept
That's only the first page.
Definitely, I look forward to our players ripping Moyes' ancient methods to shreds the day after his sacking.I wonder when we have our next manager if our players are going to start pouring out with quotes explaining how our new training methods have been a refreshing change over Moyes
so what? I look forward to seeing things moving the right way,not hoping for worse things to happen.Definitely, I look forward to our players ripping Moyes' ancient methods to shreds the day after his sacking.

Surely the bolded part is moving the right way.so what? I look forward to seeing things moving the right way,not hoping for worse things to happen.
unless we don't end up as spurs. They too had some discontent in the dressing room and opted for the easiest way out - now it s payback time for the short sightedSurely the bolded part is moving the right way.
Let's see, they were sitting above us when they sacked AVB, they're still sitting above us. How dreadful...unless we don't end up as spurs. They too had some discontent in the dressing room and opted for the easiest way out - now it s payback time for the short sighted

Wow. The similarity to what happened at United is damning.
You know that when a good manager left his team, most of his players and fans would say good things about him (regardless if there's another manager in place already). Come to mind is Mou with his teams.
Reading Everton players and fans opinions about Moyes who managed them for 10 years, seems like the general feeling is negative, and they don't miss him. A bit happy he's gone.
It makes you wonder.
of course it is, still i prefer being us than them despite all the fatalism over hereLet's see, they were sitting above us when they sacked AVB, they're still sitting above us. How dreadful...
What's worrying me about that is that, after all, we could be in the Summer after players "who can stop the opposition players better" rather than "creative players who can force the issue and break the opposition defences".Very telling. Thanks for re-posting. Seems like a major shift in mindset-from being reactive and worrying about the other team to learning a system and making it effective.
Did Fergie do ANY due diligence on this guy?
Good read that, interesting as it is depressing, pretty much echos most of my own thoughts on moyes.
At this point im just hoping moyes doesn't cause too much damage to the club, however long he manages to last in the job.
The gist of that astonishment was simple: “Not Mourinho!?”
Jose Mourinho had won 16 major trophies since 2003, five more than Ferguson had won in the same period. As Chelsea manager from 2004 to 2007, he had won two titles and taken on average 2.35 points per game, the best rate in Premier League history. Along with Pep Guardiola, he was plainly the outstanding coach in world football. Unlike the Bayern-bound Guardiola, he was available. For United to have overlooked him in favor of a manager who had won nothing seemed perverse.
Where's all this money coming from? Was Fergie given access to such a huge amount and, if so, why did he persist in getting inferior players on the cheap? What was that guff about "value in the market" about if he had that kind of money to spend.
of course it is, still i prefer being us than them despite all the fatalism over here
how do you know that only 1 player was interested? Do you have any info we don't? For a transfer to take place at least 3 parties must be in agreement - it does not depend exclusively on a player s desire.Note that only one of his players had any interest in following him to a bigger club (with more money). Leighton Baines would have come last summer if he'd wanted to as Everton couldn't have competed financially, but he chose not to.
That's a quite damning indictment on Moyes.
where did i say that?Wow, better than Spurs (not in terms of league position), but the moral highground... how comforting...
where did i say that?
Do please elaborate...of course it is, still i prefer being us than them despite all the fatalism over here
i prefer moyes to Sherwood anytime...Do please elaborate...
I want to cry...
I've had similar thoughts since these £200m media briefings started making regular appearances - if there really was so much money available to be spent (a "war chest" you could say...) as we were told every summer then why the feck didn't Sir Alex use it? Was the intention so he could leave his successor a lump-sum to spend themselves on rebuilding the squad? Why not use that money himself whilst we were on top so he could leave his successor a better team to inherit? Nasri, Hazard, Sneijder and others were missed-out on due to money issues - why, if they were targets, and the money was actually there to be used? Why do we seem to repeatedly fail to build from a position of strength?
I know we've had some fantastic years recently and I'm grateful, but the idea that there really was a tonne of cash open to Sir Alex to spend but he held-back just infuriates me - what could've the club under Sir Alex have achieved if he'd actually used it?
i prefer moyes to Sherwood anytime...
Sherwood is going to be replaced very soon, Moyes appears won't be.
Imagine Van Gaal gone to Spurs this Summer, or even worse, Klopp to Arsenal...
you are assuming a lot of things. Van Gaal to Spurs more realistic but don't expect miracles from him in the shorter term.Sherwood is going to be replaced very soon, Moyes appears won't be.

We could drop a long way behind if that happens. As well as Pochettino and his ever improving Saints side. And Everton under Martinez will be strong again with new some additions. Next season we simply must get back into the CL at the first time of asking, otherwise who knows what the future of this club holds.
