Moyes So Far!

I'd agree with this. You can look at it both ways I guess, with Fergie thinking he knows him better then the others so he'd trust him and believe in him. My only issue is that I think his nationality had too big of a role to play, and that we'd be better off if we just looked 100% at the football side of things, which manager would be most likely to give us success both short term and keep us at the top long term.

Well yeah I agree to some extent - of course the football needs to come first. But the point that knowing someone can lead to a better idea of their suitability for a particular role I think has truth to it, of course we all have no idea really what goes on in football management, but in typical everyday professions I think the above is all true. So basically I'm saying that I wouldn't criticise Ferguson for hiring Moyes partially based on traits he has picked up through knowing him as a person - I think in many ways it can be a positive. That was really all I was disagreeing with, the idea that Ferguson screwed us over by blindly picking a manager because of his nationality. I think that does Ferguson a disservice and he picked Moyes for better reasons than that.

Can you make your own thread? It's all got a bit childish in here, I'm not trying to be a killjoy but there was some interesting debate and good points being made regularly until it got turned into a base for your club.

And yes agreed. It's gotten too cluttered in here....Still though, was nice to have some fun in such a negative thread :)
