Moyes So Far!

That line-up is a result of his defensive, safety-first mentality.

Don't get me wrong, I think we'll win tonight and all but it's that mentality that shows that he's not right for us. As I said in the other thread he's our Hodgson. I just hope the powers that be realise it soon enough.

Totally agree mate.

It's scary how much we rely on the wings. We have no one in the middle wiling to take up positions to offer something different, all we have is two cmf that sit without getting forward and pass it out wide at every opportunity.

This is everything I hoped for and more when I saw that team sheet.

Mouth watering.

I get so excited to see Smalling pass the ball to Ferdinand every time I see Valencia receive the ball.

You forgot to log out from your Pexbo account and log into your Kevin account.

We've rumbled you now!

He'll mention bad luck but bad luck my ass. This is what happens when you set your teams up in a cowardly manner, the opposing team gets more of the play and eventually forces mistakes.

We used to be on the other side of all this "bad luck". This coward needs to be kicked out the door in the morning.

I think it's the "wrong" selection tonight but SAF picked regularly picked equally or even more defensive lineups away in the knockout stages of the CL. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with playing on the counter attack in these games. It's more that two wingers who have been picked for tonight have both been far from impressive for quite a while now.
Sir Alex picked defensive lineups usually against good teams away from home. Moyes picks regularly shit lineups during shit teams regardless if the game is on home and away. As a big difference as the difference between Moyes and a good manager.

I really don't understand why we're postponing the inevitable. Why wouldn't it just keep getting worse and worse? There are zero signs of improvement.

People will bitch about the team selection but the more important point is the performance.

We don't look like creating anything and struggle to contain a side like this. It's the self same all to ordinary performance that has become a routine under Moyes.

Hate to get into tabloid and populist labelling but we do look like a mid table side all to often.

You could have Kagawa in the side and the same would be true.

What the feck does that have to do with today or anything I've posted?

half time summary. another unlucky goal to add to the stack.

And a complacent poor performance so far. I guess we all presumed we'd comfortably stroll through, including the players!

To win this now we're going to need tactical aptitude and an ability to switch things up with good substitutions.

Which is a shame.

I'm pretty sure he'd still offer more penetration.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

It is the worst decision in our history.
It's actually shocking how little he's done right. From a team who walked the league, won 5 of last 7 and 1 point away from the other 2, to 7th place 2/3rds into the season, playing awful football and out of every competition. That takes talent.

It's a shame that he's pretty much nailed on to keep his job this season, despite it becoming increasingly evident he's out of his depth.

You're right. The individual selections are irrelevant when they are sent out with such a horrendous mentality. I hate watching Utd play football these days. Total lack of the balls needed to go for a game and play a bit.

Moyes, just do the decent thing and resign please...I feel no hate towards you, but for the love of god pack your bags already and scram...you're nowhere near the level of a manager a club like Manchester United needs

He's had more than enough time, even putting results aside, to show he's capable of leading a club like United. He simply isn't. He's fecking awful.

Absolutely shocking season getting topped off tonight, that first half was the worst iv seen in a long time. Poor gameplan, poor tactic, poor line up, every single thing is wrong.

Moyes: "This game is made for Chico to come on and score!"
Neville: "Yes boss, this game is made for Chico to come on and score!"

I'll never watch that Graham Taylor documentary and laugh again :(

All the careful optimism after the Palace game is well and truly destroyed after this first half display. These are the most gutless tactics I've ever witnessed from a Man United side, bearing in mind we're playing Olympiakos and not Barça or Bayern. That team selection, no pressing of any sort, no urgency, no movement, nothing. An utterly soul destroying performance. What the feck has Moyes done to the club? What's his vision? Where is his ambition? What does he hope to achieve with this game plan? I'm genuinly concerned about the future of the club with him in charge.

It would at least be progress from a starting eleven POV.
