Moyes So Far!

Imagine drawing Bayern in the next round if we get past Olympiakos. Moyes would probably put on 11 defenders.

More of the same again - I said at the weekend there were too many saying that was a corner turned.

Moyes just does not learn.

We really have to consider replacing him in the summer. I always defended him and said he needs to get the two years and then we see how it is going but there is just zero progress with this team. We have a halfway decent game and next game we are back to being shit again it's just stunning how bad we often look.

On top of that we looked like a site playing for a 0-0 tonight no drive going forward, standing deep and just passing the goal between the defenders from side to side.

I am fully converted. He must go and immediately. Maybe even right now at HT. Resign in the dressing room.

Moyes: "This game is made for Chico to come on and score!"
Neville: "Yes boss, this game is made for Chico to come on and score!"

I'll never watch that Graham Taylor documentary and laugh again :(

This feels more like Mike Bassett to me.

Oh give over you spoilt brats.
No you're right let's just happily accept our club falling into a mid table team just because it's not in our DNA to sack managers. Even though he's blatantly out of his depth, and it was obvious since day 1.

To be fair, making it this far in the competition is quite an achievement for David Moyes. Especially given the players he has at Everton.

We're playing so badly in all aspects that it's impossible to pass judgement on the gameplan or the tactics.

More likely he'd play 11 strikers as defenders so no one blames him for being too defensive.

Seriously moyes had played this formation the whole season and it's not working. How thick and stubborn is he?

The man is a complete and utter clown. How on earth can you play "compact" when you have 2 out and out wingers leaving huge holes in the middle of the pitch?

What the feck is wrong with him? This is the first time I've been genuinely angry with this cnut.

Pointless, negative possession.
Lack of movement and tempo. No closing down. Nothing at all.

Absolute clueless tactics, that is if we have one. We've had a lot of time to prepare for this game only to have this stupid anti-football crap we've seen in the first half. Ridiculous.

I gave the guy 2 years, but to be honest I couldn't argue if he got fired after this game, or at the end of the season.
Never! He's our BRITISH manager. That's all that matters. We win at life because of this.

This time it's entirely his fault. We played much better against Palace and he played our strongest line up against them. He opted for 2 wingers that are not good going forward and should help defensively. He picked Cleverley over Fellaini. I can't stand this bad luck argument anymore. We should play much better football than that. I want him gone, NOW.

I just don't understand it at all. We did so well against palace - why not stick with the same formation? Yes I know Mata is ineligible, so play Kagawa instead. But no, he insists on a rigid 4-4-2

If people on the caf could see it, our manager should too. That lineup simply cannot produce good attacking football. Our wingers are wank and we revolve our play around them. We're banking on them suddenly turning it on which doesnt look like happening anytime soon. Its criminal how a team with the players we have can play this kind of football. Olympiakos are playing better stuff, just imagine how ridiculous that is.

They were the better team going forward and though they got a lucky deflection, there's nothing lucky about them being ahead. We've been dire.

The quicker we bugger him off back to Mordor and get in a more competent manager to better. This is just beyond painful now.

Right there with you - no signs of continued progress, not one iota from one game to the next. It's actually a case of half a baby step forward, 2 steps back each time.

It would at least be progress from a starting eleven POV.

Why. He's started plenty of games early season and failed to deliver. He's just more popular with a large group of United fans than Valencia(who I would love to see out of the side) and Young(whose had a better season than Kagawa) because of his reputation earned at Dortmund. In terms of performance, he would fit in well with an ordinary on the fringes performances like that going on his United career. Nani, I would agree with, as he's hardly had an opportunity this season with his injuries,

Starting Januzaj in the Champions League would be progress for the European starting eleven IMO.

Why is he guaranteed time though, there must be a vision in place for him to be given time and nothing he's done so far is positive. At what point do the board realize they have made a massive feckup.

He's still got two years left on his internship. After that he'll really be ready.

The worst thing is, as soon as you saw the team sheet pretty much everyone knew this was going to happen.

Seems more likely that he got it right on accident and he had this game in mind the whole time . He's a joke.

On one hand, I "made a promiss" during that emotional Fergie goodbye speach to stick by our new manager, and I really thought I could go atleast a full season without changing my mind, but even though I had low expectations to begin with, Moyes is just terrible on top of terrible on top of terrible, I never could've imagined he'd be this worthless and clueless as a United manager, this is probably what a Scouser's wet dream looks like....not only the results, but the general level of football shown has just been abysmal whenever I watched United apart from the Leverkusen beating

What the feck does that have to do with today or anything I've posted?
The parallels you were trying somehow to make with this retarded selection and Fergie's weird (but most of the times proven right) lineups.

Very good post regarding that aspect.

A lot of us have suspected for some time now that Moyes is trying to "Learn the United Way" with these line-ups, hoping that repetition will lead to some sort of understanding and/or comfort with the tactics. I could break it down but really it's just a huge intertwined mess involving all of his apparent sub-par abilities across the board, from man-management to tactical ineptitude.
