Moyes So Far!

This is a very average team. Young, Carrick, Jones and Valencia across midfield? Johnny Evans our best defender? Moyes should be doing better than this but it's not like it's all his fault, it wasn't like the squad became this average on his watch.
Except they did become average on his watch?

Sorry but that's it for me. I've tried to give him time, but he has the same set of players that won the title by miles last year, and turned them into an average top ten team. The manager we should have gone for is sitting in the other dug-out. Love him or hate him we'd get results. We are in free fall. For all the great things he did for us, sir Alex got his final and maybe most important decision wrong. If we don't beat Sunderland on Wednesday and get to wembley, then he has to go.

He has to go regardless of the result on Wednesday. We're only prolonging the pain otherwise. I think he is out of his depth at United. He is nothing but an AVERAGE coach with little less than no charisma. I wouldn't want him to spend any money on anyone nor do I wish to hear anything about his 'plans and objectives' as they're stone age. Also as I am not British I'm not falling for this Scotsman bullshit. I could not care less what bloody nationality out coach is when more than half of our team are bloody foreigners. How ridiculously outlandish to have chosen this person over Mourinho, it's just insane.

Januzaj really is our only player of united quality in the front 6 outside of Rvp and Rooney.

People saying to give him time - why when the team show zero ability to do the basics in football?

The performances have been shocking since day one. Defending is getting worse, our attacking play is comically poor (as i type this i watch another aimless cross into the box). Why anyone would think this guy can turn it around is beyond me.

Do the team need rebuilding? No doubt. Should we be significantly better than what we are right now? Damn fecking right. Moyes has got shit loads to answer for.

Last point, we concede yet again right after half time - the time when the managers instructions should be ringing in their ears. He has to question why he fails to have an impact on these players

Just get the checkbook out get Klopp and Gundogan...
We wont make CL next summer So they better have a plan in motion to get us back in it... Moyes aint the right man, he's already on borrowed time so just get a plan in motion right now.. No need to keep doing this rubbish anymore!

Problem is we probably can't fire him without paying a massive severance package!

Whilst I type this it really seems like we are being taught a footballing lesson now. It feels like the times when Fergie's earlier years during CL matches where it would seem like we were in control for the first half but end up losing big to counterattacking teams/goals. Clearly Moyes is not on the same level tactically as someone like mourinho.

Rumour of severance package is its a set amount regardless of how long left

His record away in big games does not lie. That has continued since he took over here.

I really have tried to stick by him, but look at us out there. Do they look like a team playing for the manager? Slag them off all you want, Valencia, evra, whoever, but they won the league last year. We appointed a manager with no away wins against the top teams, with no record of winning anything, and no record in Europe. We've always had a certain arrogance, 'we're united, we do things our way' like with transfers and assuming players will want to join us. Everyone said it should be mourinho, but we didn't even give him an interview. Well that arrogance is starting to bite us back.

You reckon Moyes gave them any?

Does anybody really see a successful future under this man, even if he got £200 million to spend and used it all?

One of the other problems with Moyes is he has no pull whatsoever with the sort of players we need to be signing.

We struggled to sign top players under Fergie, though mostly due to our ''high moral horse'' that players should want to play for United because we're United, despite other clubs offering 50% higher pay packets and equal chances of trophy glory.

With Moyes and no CL it is going be nigh on impossible.

We need a manager who is an attraction to top players.

This.

I still want to give him the summer to change things. I'm not calling for his head. But at the same time, this season has been almost comically bad, and I'm going to whinge about it on the internet to my hearts content. So there.

Considering the shambolic summer transfer window, followed by what appears to be little to no movement by us this transfer window, I'm no convinced we should take heart that his transfer strategy is something to look forward to, or see any hope in.

I'm not calling for his head at this point, but, I'm having a hard time envisioning a bright future under Moyes.

I've been banging the "Moyes Out" drum with a while and I still am, but do it in the summer.

Not out some misguided hope that he'll turn things around but I don't want a new manager being saddled with this shít mid-season when there's nothing left to salvage.

Sack Moyes on the 11th of May, have a new manager lined up and give him the whole summer so he can try to rebuild this mess.

All this started in June when for some fecking reason the club decided that Moyes wasnt to do anything until July 1st. So a whole month went by in the summer with nothing achieved or targets worked on. What sort of fecking succession plan was that? Now we are playing catch up with a lesser manager. And that cnut Woodward is never interviewed on television.

Except they did become average on his watch?

No they didn't. This was an average team last season, one that was carried by our few top players and a brilliant manager. It was also lucky that our title rivals were relatively poor. If you'd given this squad to any other manager last season we wouldn't have won the league.

Even if we do end up sacking Moyes and bringing in some brilliant manager, this team still needs a major overhaul. The squad is the worst it has been since the Djemba Djemba years.

Not like people haven't been pointing out our declining quality over the last few years either, we've been papering over the cracks for a while now.

Perhaps we should have played 5 in midfield? We used to do that in away games in our pomp, so why not now, when we're so much more porous on defense?

There would still be room for Januzaj out wide.

To give him 6 years was a big mistake.

It doesn't even make any sense. You could understand the club having to meet the demand of top manager for the financial security of a long term contract, but Moyes surely would have accepted almost any sort of deal to get his hands on the United job.

I'm not going to say this because he just scored, but why didn't Moyes start Hernandez ? He has the best striker's record against them, and all those lost balls into the box would have found him more often than not. But hey, I'm not United manager, what do I know.

A win is a must in every game.

The more I see, the more I wonder if he's a 'patsy' of sorts. Whoever took over from Ferguson was always going to be a bit screwed, but this way the Glazer's have made a sensible choice, led by SAF, given him a whole season and when it doesn't work out, then they can bring a 'savior' manager who will have no pressure on them at all.

The big issue is that Klopp aside, there really aren't any world class managers doing nothing at the moment, and we'd really want a younger one who could shape their own squad.

Well at least Hernandez has given Moyes a base to build his excuses on after the match. It'll be that and the fact we had a lot of the ball in the first half. And everything will be rosy.

I think his appointment deflated most of the squad. If it had been Mourinho for example there would have been new signings and energised the squad, but Moyes doesn't come with a reputation of winning, or attractive football, and the players just haven't cared since day one.

A couple of years to start with in order to test him if he is truly the right man for the job and then a huge extension if that was the case. 6 years from the get go is shackling yourself with him and making it a big financial loss if there is the temptation to replace him with a better manager.

Today, like against the other top teams, has highlighted Moyes lack of tactical ability. In all games he has been tactically inept and shown up. Take today Jose set his team up to get us on the break while Moyes has been naive and tried to go all out only to be picked off.

I mean going a 442 away to Chelsea is just stupid. Why does he feel like he has to take the game to them was just asking for it given the players we have. I think Moyes deserves a year and full summer for transfers but he really isn't helping himself

It was retarded, give a manager who wasn't a sure choice, someone who has never won anything and has been a defensive manager a 6 year contract? Makes no sense.

It was to make this big statement to the media about 'stability' and tradition. Based on nothing else but that. Should have been 3 years.

That's about right. The risk of this happening was just so obvious from the start.

I think the 6 year contract indicates that they clearly had a lot of faith in him, although if he was to go at the end of this season then the new manager would find himself in a good position when he came in. Like you say, I have no idea who it'd be though.
