Moyes So Far!

Absolutely zero organisation at the back.

Seriously, what the feck do they do during the week?

This is a question that needs answering. Our woeful defending has bit us in the bum time and time again this season. It's ridiculous. Ramires' ball cut our team in half and the defensive line was anything but moving as a unit, leaving an easy square to Eto'o. People talk about defensive wingers, you'd need the Great Wall of China in midfield to cover for this chaos.

There's a tiny chance Moyes might not say we're still in the title race after today.
Only tiny mind.

I mentioned this point in the match day thread but I think it got lost in the cauldron of angry posts when we conceded the 2nd.

Anyway, this match is over - we didnt actually stand a chance tbf - but that's not my point. If united are so intent on backing Moyes, they need to provide him with the funds to rebuild for next season. We simply cannot afford another disastrous transfer window like this season. Of more pressing concern, other then will we finish 4th, is keeping hold of both Rooney and RVP.

I fear, as Moyes has said, that it will get a lot worse before it gets better.

Everyone other than Vidic stepped out together

It's really hard winning football games if you can't be arsed to mark people in and around the box. Why can't our players understand this? Everyone looks like they're waiting for someone else to do the marking.

How can it get worse than this?

We're going to have a record of played 5 loss 4 won 1 in 2014

We've lost to teams we haven't for decades before at old Trafford.

We've been beaten by Liverpool and absolutely hammered by city.

Seriously, if it gets any worse Moyes should resign.

I'd actually forgotten we beat Chelsea away last year.
Probably because they had 2 players sent off, and we had a really unusual run of terrific away wins In hard places, almost like a dream.

Last season was definitely an anomaly. We usually struggle at stamford beach. Anyways, it looks like another loss this year but then again that's no surprise. I think mourinho hasn't lost there in something like 50 odd matches now?

We've bossed it but are 2 down, unfortunate really

Swansea also had more of the ball than Spurs today. Guess what, they lost 3-1 and created feck all till it was 3-0. Chelsea will punish us time and time again if we can't defend, and don't have quality up top.

This reeks of the way we lost against City two seasons ago. Then Sir Alex benched Valencia, who was our in form winger and started Park. Now Young starts instead of Kagawa, who was one of our top performer in last match.

Can talk all you like about we've kept ball etc. Defensive organisation is the No.1 rule of football.

People who aren't questioning what the feck we are doing during the week to prepare needs their head examined.

Thanks for anyone has it in him to turn this around, get the tactics right to completely demolish Chelsea in the second half, it's Moyes. There's nobody, and I mean nobody, I'd rather have in the dressing room right now. We're just doing it the hard way, like the good old days.

We were always going to get beat comfortably IMO, Chelsea have a better manager and a better team. But it would have been nice to make things difficult for them.

Big half of football for Moyes. He needs to deal with the fallout from the first half, and then look to make changes that can get us back in the game. If we concede more and capitulate it's going to result in more questions and more pressure for him. To be languishing in 7th and 6 points (potentially 7 points) off 4th spot is just not acceptable in any way whatsoever.

Trust me mate - it will get A LOT more worse then this - as I say, I don't think we'll get 4th, certainly not based on the football we've played this season. I don't think we'll keep Rooney and possible van persie. I feel Moyes is not the man for the job, but United won't get rid of him so soon. We have to splash the cash - its the only way out :D

Honestly I've got to place some blame on him today. Wrong selections all over the park. Firstly, Phil Jones is having a nightmare and clearly not ready to play. Why not have Darren Fletcher at least play 60 minutes after such a solid showing against swansea? Secondly, why Ashley Young over Kagawa? Clearly Kagawa was in great form once played in his preferred position last week. Him and Januzaj were linking up fantastically, especially considering it allowed Januzaj to play on the left wing where he is at his best! Not upfront where he has barely done anything of note and clearly we have not created any chances as a result.

Also, I know most won't agree but Chris Smalling (or Phil Jones) needs to play ahead of Jonny Evans. He just isn't good enough for our defence.

I think its because Jose sussed out Moyes and said "you guys have the possession but we'll get you on the break" and that's pretty much it. I think the scoreline right now is because Moyes has been too naïve thinking we can go all in while Chelsea are happy to contain us but pick us off later.

Thats not the case with us though is it? We have created chances and should have had a penalty

Apart from our defensive frailties we are playing better than many predicted

Quite a few predicted we would win which sounds amazing right now. We are playing ok, but we're playing like many weak sides who have come to top team away from home but then have been picked off by failing to get the basics right now. I wouldn't really say that's much to cling onto.

I suspect that's the case. That's why I'm not counting this half as a "moral win" for us.

I predicted we would win. I don't think there has been a utd game ever when I haven't predicted a win for us.

The way I see it though is that chelski are set out to hit us on the counter and they have done that well. They aren't pressing us in midfield and are sucking us closer to their penalty box but have limited us to barely any chances despite our possession.

fecks sakes how can you watch that half and football and feel things have been easy for Chelsea?

The fact that we're winning 2-0 at half time without having to be amazing suggests that's not too difficult. All they had to do was was wait for us to cock up.

Selected 2 unfit players for an away match at Stamford Bridge. I don't understand what he sees in Young. Jones is normally excellent but today Chelsea players are going past him on the counter. Fletcher should have started with Carrick and Jones in midfield.

And there it is, calls for Moyes to quite because we're losing at Stamford Bridge. Having played surprisingly well, other than a couple of moments of shit defending.
Umm don't play connect the dots ever. My post have nothing to do with today's game. Nor was I saying he should resign right now. Read the post I was quoting.

At this point you really just have to put your hands up and say this isn't our season. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Even with us keeping a lot of possession we manage to go down 2 goals before the half.
