The Moyes bashing is good. I mean it's not like he dropped Rooney into CM in an attempt to get a grip of the game when we were being over-ran and hustled off the ball or inserted Kagawa and put Welbeck on to give him a willing runner to pick out...
The truth of the matter is there were, bar De Gea, Vidic and maybe Kagawa, a team of players on that pitch who were shit today. I am unsure of how many passes RVP and Rooney exchanged, nor can I ever remember a game where Carrick has looked so out of his depth.

It's not so long ago that we played Madrid with a near identical team and system...

He's not turning this around. It's now a matter of time before he's sacked.

The only thing that's keeping him there is the bizarre media response and the fact that the fans are too scared of Ferguson to boo at home games.

He has to go.. Give somebody else a chance.. even if some rookie..
Well Guardiola, Conti were not big names.. before they were given a chance..

Genuine query - Was it the manager's remit when the same players were serving up shit after shit last season?

I believe so. Some of our play last season was godawful too, but nothing as bad as this. It was easier to take last season because we never looked like losing the league and our lead was always healthy once we swept City aside at their place. The crap games weren't so hard to take, but it was still Fergie's responsibility to turn it around, and he mostly did.

Moyes should be summoned before the board tomorrow to justify his record as manager, if the answers aren't satisfactory then they have a decision to make.

You can't give him 50-75m to spend and authority to gut the squad if his competence is in question.

I am all giddy with anticipation of Moyes' post match interview.

Im not even joking here. Im serious.

Is there a manager ever at a top level club who has been worse in the history of modern football, in terms of negative change from one season to the next and the potential impact of the failures? If there is then I would like to know, so I can read up and get some perspective, but I doubt it.
I doubt it, I really do.

It's just so hard to fathom that a man who has been in the game for so long can continually make decisions that the rest of the world just shake their heads at.

I hope SAF will have no say in whom the next manager should be

Realistically, how much will we have to pay him to get rid? Does anyone have an idea?

We've lost 7 of the 12 games we have played this year, getting beyond a joke.

It's looks to me like he lost the squad as well. The players basically gave up after we went 2-0 down. They lost confidence that they can do better under this system.

That is the biggest worr.y Winning and losing football games is part of the deal. It's the manner of the defeats that has been concerning. In the past you knew that even at 2-0 down, we'll give it all and get something out of the game. Now, you just know that everyone will go through the motions and we'll look even more clueless than before in the game.

Carrick refusing to say the players had let themselves down.

Now maybe I'm saying 1+1=3 but his reply really looked like he wants to absolve the players of blame and say a lot more.

I think Keane wants to get in the dressing room and shit down their necks.

Chelsea sacked AVB when they were 2-0 down in the first leg and we know what happened then...

This thread will look pretty silly next season.
Why? Obviously he'll improve, I mean, it's impossible to get any worse (I hope). Doesn't mean he hasn't completely destroyed us this season. Any other manager would be out the door by now, or a few months ago even.

Surely the club had something in the contract that says if we don't get Champions League, or don't meet some other standards, then things can be looked at. If they didn't, then Ed and friends are even more stupid than I thought previously.

The players do need to take a lot of blame as well for being quite frankly unprofessional.

The performances put in from Van Persie and Rooney tonight were bordering on the mickey taking.

Liverpool and City fans were hoping for us to get an away goal
tonight so Moyes wouldn't get sacked. It's embarrassing but even worse I kind of know that we won't sack him.

That's the feeling I got too. It was almost as though he was saying don't look at us for this bad result.

What if one of them put in more yards on the pitch than 7 other United players though alastair?

so no interview from moyes then tonight. speaks volumes in itself that.

But how many times have people said that this season? I honestly believe that the training regime, tactics etc. have completely destroyed our players.

Given how Rooney has been vocal about the players stepping up and his new contract don't you think some blame goes to the formation?

Rooney's being played totally out of position where he won't be that effectual to compensate for other areas that are severely lacking. The system Moyes plays will not suit Rooney's game either.

I agree re RVP though.
