Moussa Sissoko

If he is available for 20-25M then it's a good purchase, he clearly has better quality than Valencia and we don't have any other RW in the squade.
This purchase would make more sense to me than 120m for Pogba, especially the Pogba of this tournament.
Not too fussed bout money or pro-play our youngster than buying member. Just saying I rather play Januzaj and Lingard even as wing back like LVG on merit than this Sissokho. Few good games can't erase the shit I've seen from him.

French Adebayor. Plays like a man possessed when he needs a new contract.

His charging runs are devastating and really enjoyable to watc. If he had end product and the ability to produce performances like that consistently, he'd be an absolute monster.

Imagine if Liverpool actually sign him. We get Mkhy they get Mane and Sissoko:lol:
Mane + Sissoko >>>>>>>> Martial + Mkhi + Ibra + Pogba

Seriously are people asking for Fecking Sissoko to be signed just because he played 2 good games at the Euro?:lol:

Even most Newcastle fans don't want him. I believe Ture Geordie has a video on Sissoko where he basically called Sissoko a useless waste of space for not doing anything for months. The guy only turns up 3/4 games a season! Plus he's 25+ I believe and his technique is still very poor.

It's like all it takes a good game for Cafties to start drooling over some player!

I remember when he first joined Newcastle he looked amazing, and he's looked very good in this tournament too. In between these things happening I'm reliably told that he's been pretty shite. A great athlete that can occasionally look incredible, but not a great football player

As much as i don't want to see him anywhere near our team, the bashing on here goes a little too far imo. He's been far from the most abysmal Newcastle player, he's even looked decent more often than not actually. Nothing special, sure, but decent. Who exactly has shone in this depressing Newcastle team ? I think it's a case of everyone dragging everyone else down with them in a total team collapse. I can see players like Anita, Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Ayoze get much better in a different environment.

Man fecking fickle dumbass knee jerk fans. Even Newcastle fans think he's shite. He was basically in the shop window this Euros and it shows, fraud player.

Very good points, nufc is a caustic club and I can see that dragging players down, definitely.

Sissoko for 20mil in today's market would be worth a punt in my book. (Crazy suggesting 20mil as a punt btw) If a manager can get him motivated then they would have a bargain imo.

He played really well last night along with umtiti. Granted only one game like.

No way he's better than Valencia as a right winger. I don't know what people watched last night, it's true he showed some good run, work hard and got himself a chance to score but at the same time he made some embarrassing stuff that people missed. I remember I saw him missed 2 easy ball control. The ball went though his leg and I was like "this guy supposed to be a professional footballer and he doesn't even know how to receive a simple easy pass".

Valencia is still a much better right winger than Sissoko, and not even close. 20-25m means a steal for Newcastle and it will be a good sell for them. Sissoko won't even improve our bench. It will be a joy if Liverpool or Arsenal are in for him.

It's true it's kneejerk but it depends how you look at it. I think the guy is demotivated at Newcastle. I think he saw them as a stepping stone and his mentality isn't right. He had a good tournament though and was the best player in the final for France - which says a lot considering who was playing. He's 26 years old and Newcastle would probably be greatful to shove him out the club. Payet was a gamble that payed off for West Ham. If a club could get him for cheap, it might be worth the risk. I think any move to a top club would see an improvement in his attitude.

He did play one quality ball in yesterday. We can question his end product but playing with better players making better runs - could see an improvement. With the right motivation you just never know. He's certainly got drive and I that would be useful for most teams.

I haven't seen enough of him before, but if he's anything like he's proven in Euros at Newcastle, I can't believe Newcastle got relegated..

I was being tongue in cheek posting the line up to be honest but I can't understand the comments like "playing for a move" etc.

It's basically admitting that when he's motivated he's a good player so he has the ability. Therefore if he was motivated playing in a better team and around better players he could be a good signing for someone.

Players should'nt be judged by what they do at Newcastle. Look at Ben Arfa who nearly got his career completely derailed there before replacing Ibra as PSG's star player this summer.

Sissoko is somewhat one dimensional but he's the toughest midfielder in football to guard on counter attacks. That ball carrying ability would be invaluable at a club like Atetico or Leicester.

Wait, is he good now?

And only one bad game for a United player/a player linked with United, to be termed overrated, waste of money etc :D
Is this a veiled dig at me?
I can't remember doing any such thing.:( Although there are some players I don't rate who unfortunately were linked with us and got overrated (in my eyes) by some of our fans - Willian, Joao Mario just to name a few.
But it's true that this board is full of knee-jerkers. All it takes is a good/bad game for a player to become a world beater/waste of space.

He wasn't anything like that beyond the first two games for us, now 3 years ago. Generally speaking, he is completely absent in most matches.

Echoing the other NUFC supporters here - and anyone who's watched regularly him for the last few years - in recommending against. End product is gash, yes he'll pick up the ball and move it forward a bit on a run every now and then but why would anyone spend daft money for just that; surely there are better options.

At the very least you'd need Mourinho to keep him motivated at a "Euro Finals" level every game in the league; he's incapable of doing so himself. Jose has always seemed to prefer the self-motivated type who just need a good system to play under, and he gives them that structure, so I don't see it working.

Honestly I think Klopp, with his weird energy/intensity, would have a better chance of getting something out of him. But then again a Klopp type could also make him recede rather than step up.

He's not worth more than £10m - £15m as a punt signing, he's never really been consistently good for Newcastle but I don't doubt that a Premier League club will spend north of £25m on him soon.

Linked with us in tomorrow's papers again, apparently on our list along with Drinkwater and Matuidi as fall back options if we can't get Pogba. That's a bloody long fall back, and at £35m being the figure Newcastle are putting out in the press, we'd be wise to pass on this one.

Everyone was going crazy about his final performance but was i the only one who saw no end product. Just a player who runs with the ball straight and tries to blast the towards goal. A poor mans Hulk

He stunk up the France midfield for me, his runs are so quick that he doesn't give players like Payet or Griezman a chance to run into pockets of space as he runs ahead of them, nor has he got the ability to set up goals.

I'm sure that the media are making our interest in him up. No way does Jose consider this guy and his 1 good game (after a season in a relegated team) an alternative to Pogba. It's just been slow on the Pogba front so the journos are making something up so we don't all forget about it and keep the hype going.

I'd rather we just kept the options we have than sign any of Sissoko, Drinkwater or Matuidi.

Someone like Sissoko would be a punt. If we could get him for cheap, he would probably be worth it. He's 26 years of age and his running ability would be a useful weapon to try and unsettle defenses. I think he does have an attitude problem. I think he's seriously demotivated at Newcastle. People talk about end product but it's not always easy to gauge. He could improve with better players. He could become motivated, fighting for titles and qualifying for...hopefully the Champions League.

A punt could always flop but as a squad option, he'd be an interesting project. He never impressed me for Newcastle but (and no offense to them), I don't think he can believe he signed a 6 1/2 year contract. You can't be too bright if you are willing to tie yourself down for so long.

I completely agree, all the did was run and then produce feck all at the end of it.

Think it's fairly telling that France didn't create much and he was the midfielder that saw most of the ball in the attacking third.

To be fair he did play one good ball across that I can remember but even going by the final how can we judge him? He played in 2nd gear where as the others were in neutral. When you have a team playing so slow for the most part, it's not easy for people breaking forward if others don't break their neck to join them. So for all the ball France had, most of their players had an off day.

Not to say I want us to sign him...just trying to be objective

I would honestly rather see us using what we have rather than signing Drinkwater or Sissoko.

Dortmund want him now according to L'Equipe
Well, you never know how he'll play under Tuchel and in a more serious environment at Dortmund instead of that shithole Newcastle. They should just try and get Götze though IMO.

Sissoko and Drinkwater are Spurs/Liverpool level signings.

We need to be aiming for better.
