If Sir. Bobby Charlton is so against the Mourinho signing then I would love to hear his realistic and proven alternatives.

The Metro () quoting the Daily Mirror () as their source, claim that Mourinho will bin Smalling and Blind because he wants captain material in the centre of defence. They then go on to say that Stones and Varane will replace them. No idea which of those two is meant to be captain material.

Silly season is going to be a whole lot sillier with Mourinho about.

I see Mou got his dirty mittens on LvG's notebook

Edit: Also I would love to hear some viable alternatives from these pundits that are on their high horses about us appointing Mourinho.

Ancelotti - gone
Conte - Gone
Klopp - Gone
Blanc - Not proven enough
Guardiola - Gone
Simeone - Wont come, atleast not yet
Tuchel - Not proven enough yet
Allegri - Meh

Who is left, Alan Pardew?
Joachim Lowe.

That's one thing I'm going to hate. Might boycott the transfer threads tbh.

Unai Emery. And if Conte is proven enough, Blanc is too.

My wife has just gone into labour with our first son... If he comes today and Jose in announced:-

1) It'll be the greatest day ever.
2) I'm going to have to have a son called Jose.

Congratulations, but you have to consider JoMo.:)

I've always taken those reports to be nonsense to be fair. As far as I know he's never really made a public statement to that effect and I can't see him going against the clubs interests in briefing the press

Your wife has just gone into labour! Get off RedCafe you lunatic

Second day of talks. Must be a pretty complex contract.

These things can drag on because of hundreds of little details that seem irrelevant and neither party probably even really cares about but they go through the motions of negotiating anyway.

For example they are probably discussing if his training gear will have JM or JOMO on them.

Conte .vs. Blanc?

Would you say that rebuilding the Juve squad after the trainwreck that was Luigi Delnieri, and leading them to three leagues on the trot in a far superior league is comparable to what Blanc has done so far?

Blanc has a blank cheque book, while Juve is renowned for being stingy. Blanc has a free run at the league, while Italy got 2-3 other teams putting up a serious fight. PSG has failed miserably in the only competition where they have serious competition, the CL. And a lot of people seem to think that is down to tactical naivity from Blanc.

I reckon Giggs would lead PSG to the title in France.

Whilst I agree that Conte's work at Juventus and Blanc's at PSG aren't equivalent, Blanc did also win the league with Bordeaux a few years back.

The Serie A wasn't far superior though, Juventus were far richer than anyone else and had a far better team than anyone else. Blanc won the league with Bordeaux and matched Conte's best CL result with that same team, then he dominated his league like Conte dominated his.

True. But an average player called Blanc a "faggot" and walked straight back into the team after a slap on the wrist.

While I agree that Juventus is by far the best and richest team in Italy it really can't be compared to the French league where PSG just won with a 29 points lead, and 83 (!!) GD.

Those numbers are a pisstake.

I've said it several times the 30 pts don't reflect the reality, people are using it because they know nothing about the league and think that they know better because they can read whoscored.com.
There isn't 30 pts between Lyon and PSG, there is 10pts maximum, the 4th team in France is a good team but also the youngest team in Europe, Lille finally got rid of their bad managers and were close to match PSG records during the last 19 games, Monaco lost their best player in the last minutes of the transfer window and did not replaced him.

I just hope for your sake things work out with Mourinho at United. I shudder to think what someone getting a little excited and calling their son Aloysius would think about that decision now.
