We're waiting.

I am lazy, so here is a copy from a private message. I told one guy on the caf some time ago and this is what I told him:

I work with marketing in a firm in Norway and we got a lot of business in Europe and the US. My firm got no business with Man Utd, just to be clear on that. Though I have a friend working with Adidas in Herzogenaurach in Germany. Hainer had meetings with some of Man Utds powermen in december and after that he informed some in the marketing department that United had signed a new manager who was world class and recently became available.

They now work with marketing for next season. A new manager is very important for the marketing for next season, so thats why they had to know.

I feel 100% confident that I will not look like a ass when we announce something about the manager situation when the season is finished.

Past experience says that this will end in tears...prove me wrong Jose.
To be fair, the worst that could happen is we pay a couple million to sack his arse after he's shamed us for the umpteenth time. At least the football can't get any worse, and hopefully he'll bring in a few big names for us.

Cool, thanks for posting bud;).

Mourinho isn't the big story today. It's the fact that we won the FA Cup with 10 men, with a cracking winning goal from one of our own lads, who absolutely fecking loves the club. We had an 18 year old centre forward terrorising Palace, despite the fact he hadn't even made his debut a few months ago. I screamed my lungs out when we scored/won. I was pretty indifferent when I saw the tweets about Mourinho.

As for Mourinho, it's probably the right decision in the context of what's going on in the PL and football generally. We've been in a tailspin since Fergie left that hasn't shown any signs of solving itself. Throwing money at the problem hasn't solved it. Our footballing decisions have been consistently bad. He's a great manager who, if it comes off, will make us competitive again. He might even win us a league or two. Right now, that might be enough to make the potential downsides worth it. Maybe.

But if the rumours are to be believed, Mourinho's people have leaked this. It didn't need to be tonight. If, as he claims, Mourinho is LVG's mate, it would have been the easiest thing in the world to let this run to next week and then, when the dust had settled, it could all be done. It didn't need to be released as LVG was waiting to do his press conference, regardless of what you think about him. The reality is, though, that he's not LVG's mate. Much like sharks outside of the Finding Nemo universe, people like Mourinho don't have friends, just people they haven't had the chance to dick over yet.

For me, though, the more obvious thing to take from all of this is that, prior to even being appointed, Mourinho and friends are dancing to their own tune. That's a sign of things to come. So when it all goes horribly wrong - which it undoubtedly will, at some point - whether he's brought us success in the short term or not, we'll be left having pissed off the agent that we've spent the last few years desperately trying to get into bed with. Our saving grace may be our ability to pay over the odds, which is grist to the mill for the likes of Mendes.
Madrid sacked Mourinho and they continued making deals with Mendes.

When Mourinho experiment goes wrong - and like you, I think that it will inevitably go wrong at some point, though hopefully after a couple of league titles and an UCL title - we sack him (preferably 2 minutes after he wins FA Cup) and then get some other manager. It is how the things are.

Van Gaal should have known what it was happening, in fact, it is a miracle how on Earth he was still here. I don't think that it would have made any difference if instead of hearing it from the journos, he would have heart it from Ed a few minutes later.

Fair play, well done :)

Cheers!!

I've resisted getting too hyped about him, but now that Jose is coming...I think this is how the Dark Side of the Force must have felt when they got Darth Vader.

Can't imagine the club are pissed about this leaking if its been more or less done since December.

Sky tried to get some words from Jose on his way out of the o2 just then, he didn't look happy

Mourinho's first press con is gonna be a hoot!

Is an exciting thought.

Jose is at the David Haye fight tonight. I bet there is reporters clambering all over the place to try and get a comment from him.

Far too sensible for here. Get with the programme.

You don't think one is preferable - and more honourable - than the other? I do, fwiw. I've never really thought of someone doing a bad job at whatever profession they've chosen as being justification for treating them in an undignified and embarrassing way. It just feels needless. But there you go, perhaps I'm wrong...

Somebody in this thread reporting that already!

You've gone from Emperor Palpatine to Jar Jar Binks to Jabba and now you're getting Vader.

edit: to carry on with the dumb star wars theme, somewhere, Twigginater is in a dark room screaming "Noooooooooooooooo".

Vangle knew he was going. Don't doubt that for one second.

If this was decided in December then he knew.

Fergie's consistency never fails to amaze. And that drop-off in goalscoring particularly is frightening.

Given Mourinho's pedigree I don't think failing to get top 4 would result in his sacking unlike Moyes and LVG, in both their cases the club knew there were better options out there with Mourinho we're really getting the best

I don't give a shit. Van Gaal made me hate football on those 2 years, and the cherry on the pile of shit was when he said that we need to adjust our objectives/ feck him!

He has known that it is over for him for months now. So, it doesn't change anything to see that BBC thinks that he getting sacked, when he has known it anyway. Club hasn't said anything yet, so it is all fine.

I find his lack of faith disturbing.

So true. :lol::lol:

Fear factor already setting in before he's even here

Can pretty much pencil in a 2-0 loss at Old Trafford and 0-0 draw with them at the Emirates.

Next year it'll be the battle of Pep vs Mourinho vs Conte.
