Mourinho thinks he can bring the best out of Falcao

I don't expect him to do much different. I wouldn't expect United fans not to laugh when it goes wrong either. I wouldn't feel too bad for Falcao. He's stealing a fortune at the moment.

Financially, he doesn't have any worries, but if you're a competitive athlete, this stuff bothers you a lot. It's the thing that has basically defined you your whole life and after a massive injury, you can't seem to get anywhere close to the level you were once at and a level you worked hard to achieve. No matter how much money you have, that'll piss you off enough.

Of course, it's in no relation to other people's problems, hence why there won't be a pity party thrown for him. But nonetheless, I also don't feel the need to trash hin any more when it's obvious he can't seem to get back to a quality level.

A competitive athlete doesn't move to Monaco at his peak as one of the best in the world. He made the decision as to what was more important to him and he is continuing to do that. He'd be better playing at a level he's capable of performing at. But then he wouldn't pick up that nice wage.

A) I think his Monaco was not solely up to him, as the rights to him are split amongst several groups if I remember correctly and they pushed for his move to Monaco since they were able to pay a massive fee on top of large wages.

B) Once a contract is signed, you're obviously not gonna void it, especially if you know you're never gonna make that type of money again. Nonetheless, why should he move to a worse club instead of trying it at another big club? His injury is not that far back and there surely was a possibility that things would be different for him at Chelsea. He knew he'd receive guaranteed opportunities to play, so he moved to the best club in the BPL to prove himself. The time for him to move to a worse club is probably coming now, but his move to Chelsea was more than understandable, not just from a financial perspective.

I don't know about others but I'm sad he's struggling. Always comes across as a class man.

How often does he slip? Seriously, doesnt he realise that?
I honestly think since his injury maybe his balance has been severely affected, he seems to fall over way too much to be a coincidence.

What's with all the hate... I'd like him to do well there tbh, he always seems like he's working hard and comes across as a real nice guy.

feck, he's bloody awful. Shev, Torres now Falcao. 3 of the very best, tarnishing their name at Chelsea.
Deary me
Tbf Falcao is an ok guy. Gave his all for us but his body just wasn't willing to do what he wanted... it's just one of those things.

I have to wonder if he might have some kind of degenerative condition of his nervouc system (ALS?) where his balance and coordination are starting to betray him. He wouldn't be the first athlete to experience that.

That's interesting... and possible. But surely someone on the medical team of wherever he's been playing would have diagnosed this already? Not that they would tell anyone of course.

31/Oslo/Male. Why?

His legs dont do what his mind wants him to do. Shame for him tbh.

We had high hoped for him, and he never delivered. And him doing well there will probably be to the detriment of our team, why would we want him to do well?

He's absolutely shit and it's a bit of a shame. Still I'd be happy with myself being able to pick up that wage for his level of performances.

I've nothing against him personally. He seemed like a nice guy who was trying to do his best. But wish him luck at Chelsea? I don't think so. Why did Chelsea take him when it was obvious he wasn't capable of playing at the level anymore? That's the question. Dodgy as something that's really dodgy that is.

Either to try and make us look like dicks, or Mourinho doing his mate Mendes a favour.

It can't be balance running up to kick a football, surely it would be pretty obvious in training if his balance was that bad.

It sounds ridiculous but if I were him I would be changing football boots.

Poor guy. I don't think PL is the right fit for him to rediscover his form.

Exactly. I've never seen a player who deliberately needs to plant his foot fall over so many times. @Jazz it could be very early symptoms of something like ALS.

ALS: About 75% of people contracting the disorder first experience weakness or atrophy in an arm or leg and this is known as "limb-onset" ALS. Awkwardness when walking or running or even tripping over or stumbling may be experienced and often this is marked by walking with a "dropped foot" which drags gently on the ground.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him in MLS, in the next year or so. I am gutted he didn't get more goals for United but sometimes, that's how it goes. Going to Chelsea was the wrong move, he needed to go somewhere he'd start more or less every game, in a league less aggressive than the PL.

It doesn't sound ridiculous. If for any reason he hasn't tried different soleplate and stud configurations, he should do so immediately.

He's definitely done as a top player. Even a decent player. Never seen someone fall over so much.

They can lose every game 6-5 with him still doing well.

He is just playing in babouche.

It's a shame because he's a very classy, professional guy. I wanted him to do well for us more than anything, such an elegant striker, it could have been beautiful with Di Maria. Ah well, I think he should consider an Italian team, around upper-mid table, but he'd need to take a massive pay cut first. This season should be a good test of his character, and then, next year, we'll see whether he values money or getting some kind of credibility back.

He should go to Serie A, slower pace and less phyical. MLS should be an option for him as well.

So money is clearly the main motivator. There's nothing wrong with that but then it doesn't provoke much sympathy when he chose to keep his wage rather than accept a move to a level he's capable of playing at for less money. Moving to Chelsea was never the best choice if he wanted to play regularly and regain some form. He was always bound to repeat last season.

This guy deserves his career going tits up for going to Monaco when he could have gone anywhere in Europe. Then again the decline is sad. Hope he turns it round.

This post is a real rollercoaster.
