Mourinho thinks he can bring the best out of Falcao

I find it rather shit that Jose didn't even bother to take Falcao to Porto, I am sure Falcao must have been looking forward to going back to a club he spent some good times at

the number of people saying he'd get 20 plus goals....its gone very quiet...the guy is done...sadly so, but he'll never go back to that top top level again

But but but its all LVG's fault that Falcao is playing like a pub footballer. His tactics are restricting him, he's not used to 3-5-2, he needs to be the lone striker! Or errrm something.

Well anyone predicting that was obviously doing so out of blind and completely misplaced faith, not based on the hard evidence of his time with us.

It was fairly appparent that he's finished after 2/3 months with us.

There were people saying the same about Torres too, when it was clear he was finished in this league. Top class players die hard in people's minds, it seems. However he seems to have rediscovered some from in La Liga. Maybe Falcao can do the same.

I found this signing for Chelsea really bizarre. Anyone that watched 10-15 games of United last season would have come to the firm conclusion that he's well and truly finished. He brought absolutely no qualities to the table: he was slow, laborious, had an awful first touch, was constantly muscled out, was constantly slipped over, had terrible stamina and was about as static as a forward could be. It wasn't even as if he improved as the season went on so you'd see progress from his injury; if anything he got worse as the season went on.

I can only imagine that Mourinho watched maybe 2-3 of his games with us last season and saw a few promising things (the turn vs Sunderland, hitting the bar vs Leicester). Either that or it was an ego signing whereby the 1% chance he magically turned brilliant Mourinho would come out of it looking like a God, but the other 99% he could act like he intended him to be a 3rd choice backup all along.

It's sad to see what injuries can do to a player. He was probably the best no 9 in the world before his injury. A complete CF.

His perfomances for Colombia were similar, yet some insisted it was all our tactics.....he was awful in u21 game...truly awful

The difference with Torres his legs never went, he is still fairly mobile - it was his confidence that severely dropped. With Rooney and Falcao injuries have affected their movement too much. Once that happens you can't compete at the top level.
