Mourinho tells Paul Pogba he'll never captain Manchester United again

If its true then saying that he'll 'never captain united again' seems stupid, there's no need to be so definitive. Remove him as vice captain, fair enough I guess but saying never again is unprofessional.

I think it all started when he was dropped the 1st time. Wasn't it then that he was apparently offered to City?
To be fair your infatuation of Mourinho has also made it hard for you to even take a slightly critical stance on him no matter what.

I'm not that surprised that some are taking Mourinho's side, it's his MO to turn some 'fans' against the best players at the club. What I am surprised by is people being blind to the fact that despite all of this, Pogba went to shake his hand at training and people's eyes somehow can't see Mourinho acting like a child by refusing it. Who, between the two, has a consistent history of creating rifts in the dressing room and eventually having to leave because he's created too toxic an atmosphere?

Hint: It's not Pogba.

I don't see any other way for Mourinho to navigate this other than dropping Pogba until he confirms his commitment to the cause, his willingness to work under the manager and do what he's told. It's costly, but long-term it is the only choice given that Pogba has massively undermined his manager who is already under fire from most quarters of the British press.

Pobga isn't Manchester United Captain material tbh

Let's be honest. Out of this current bunch Fergie would've had him well down the pecking order

It was a bit of both in my memories. Deschamps said that Pogba needs to up his level, because he believes he can do it.
Also there is an article that says that the coaching staff of Deschamps wanted players to simplify their games, like Mbappe, and Pogba. And to not humiliate opposing players so that they are not tempted to come and make them regret it, etc... Pogba had individual interviews to help him. The hair from Pogba is one thing that apparently he decided to change and not because of Jose, but the reason mentioned was because he wanted to be in "combat mode". However, other things had to change according to Deschamps. He explained to him that his performance in his club is the past, but that for the national team, he had to erase anything that is superfluous, stop touching the ball 5 times before giving it, simplify his game as much as possible. And Deschamps believed that if Pogba listened to him, he would be rewarded.

This is how they won the world cup. You don't think Jose is asking for exactly the same thing to Pogba? I'm a big lover of Pogba but you cannot say those things to the media and expect to stay in a club like Manchester United. He needs to openly apologize to the whole team to even have a chance to come back in the squad. No other option.

Okay, so basically nothing to do with attitude but technical tweaks; that's what I thought. I don't recall Pogba having any attitude issues with France/Juventus, people were just concerned that he wasn't replicating his Juventus form with France, and now the tables have turned.

It’s hardly the only choice.

His poor man management cost him the job at Chelsea and it will here too. It may not be a sacking but a non renewal of his contract.

As in his options. Not the club's options. The more he gets criticised by his star player the worse it is.

He still has another year on his contract.

Re: Pogba; Do you cut off your nose to show your face who is boss? Even if your nose has gone too far (in your opinion)?

There's the full thing. You can make out a few words like "when did Paul make the Instagram post." So that's definitely what its about.

So I guess this is the instagram post

And Mourinho is angry he posted a happy video when we were losing, or have lost, which is probably not allowed. The whole spat is whether Pogba posted this during the game or after.

Tbf, Shaw is the one who fecked it up

The Derby fans can be heard chanting "Come on Derby" in encouragement as the video is filmed. So there's no way that was after our loss.

To be fair they all left on minute 89 so it should've been before we were losing.

You can definitely make out Jose saying "get out" to Pogba around the 0:28 mark, followed by a response by Paul.

This is uncomfortable viewing.

Apparently we were ahead during the video.. But I don’t know when it was uploaded. I read some speculation of poor 4g and wifi at OT might be why it was uploaded after the game finished, but that is some far fetched theory

Broken fax machines, more than a decade without an up-to-date website and now dodgy wifi. Someone fire the CTO!

What a mess, honestly the board despite also being part of the problem really need to step in and take some form of control. If the reports are to be believed then it's probably best we let Mourinho go when we feel the time is right but most defintly by the end of the current season.

Shadow realm it is!

Its so embarrassing what's happening the club I love.. between Jose and Pogba I feel they should be both thrown out for bringing the club's name and honour into deep crap never seen before . Both should hand their heads in shame.. get 80m for P9gba and send the self centred bastard to the middle of China.. Jose .. well I don't know what done at but has made an average to good squad look shit

Remember under SAF when our training ground was named 'Fortress Carrington' - both literally and figuratively.

Now we're getting footage (and audio) of a headline-making conversation between manager and player.

Mad.

(P.S, I know the club are obliged to let the cameras in for filming, but even so...)

You wonder how SAF would have coped if David Beckham had been armed with social media back then.

Still can't believe today's circus happened over an instagram post. At least going forward I now know never to take seriously any 'crisis' involving these primadonnas.

That look Pogba gave to Jose starting from 5 seconds into the clip was damning. I wonder what Jose said or asked to cause Paul to immediately react like that. Must be something extremely unpleasant it seems

Can someone sum the thread up for me, please? Any actual information?

Have you tried using your mobile data at OT? Always been nearby impossible for me, but maybe Pog would have access to some decent WIFI so who knows.

Don't even care what Mourinho and Pogba are on about, but do we have a fecking PR department in our club? How is this even possible at a "business" of this level.

I actually think both of them need to go. Jose isn’t working but no player should be bigger than the manager.

The reality of the matter at big clubs these days is that if the manager is successful, players are not bigger than him. If he's a failure, they are. Anyone who thinks we'll be any different is wrong.

I guess it revolves around when it was posted. Tbf its not the smartest move is it anyway. There was obviously a point to the post. I have to say im with Jose on this. If we agree with what Paul says or does is one thing, but theres still a conduct you should expect and i can see why he was stripped of being second captain now.
