Mourinho bringing on Fellaini to defend a lead

While I don't think it's right, can't blame the fans for booing him. The feeling of frustration when I see him warming-up is overwhelming.

that's the thing. He's not our player.
That kind of attitude's part of the problem as well though. No point slagging off a player who's already probably suffering from a lack of confidence. Much more productive to cheer him and try get his confidence back up, because while he's here, like it or not, he is a United player.

Think I'd of gone with Rooney on for Rashford today. The Bailly sub and role was interesting and worked nicely.

The last time i checked we were a football club, not an agony aunt, a retirement home or a pub for fat players and drinkers. Its ok to support top quality players whose passing from a bad patch so they can return to their best. However we are flogging a dead donkey here

The earliest everyone realises hes not a united level of player the better. Hell have a decent career at stoke

It was cringeworthy. Either support your players by playing them in the right situations or don't support them and sell them.

This. Booing your own player is pathetic. I'm no Fellaini fan, but he didn't deserve that. He actually had a few good games earlier in the season.

Was a good decision today.
There was only about a min or 2 to go, he was sent miles up the pitch, and it quickly put to bed last week, as we realised he's not the absolute joke liability people were ridiculously hyping him up to be.

Having said that, Mourinho has finally worked out our best lineup, and he's not in it.

I actually think some of the booing was in jest. He got a decent applause too when he warmed up.

Northern humour guys.

Nowhere near lol that was genuine booing followed by some cheers of sympathy.

Embarrasing people booing him like that. Actually never seen it like that at another club. You may not like his football qualities but he has always been very professional, he never complains in the media, never embarrased the club, he always does his best on the pitch and does his work. Booing him like that because he made a penalty mistake previous match, it is outright disgusting.

His football style is not in lign with what most fans want from a United player but he was bought by the club and he has been deemed usefull and played by 3 different managers now. All people the club has payed alot of money for because they believe know alot about football and trust their judgement. If people are that unhappy with the idea of Fellaini as a United player, then boo the managers who keep playing him or boo the club for hiring people who think he is a usefull player but stop booing a player that is just doing his job the best he can.

Always prided ourselves on the fact we don't boo our own and warmly welcome former Reds when they come back (Ince aside), not anymore. Twattish behavior

I have always thought if you don't like a player who plays for your team, say nothing. Better yet, be a bit more objective and try to offer some constructive criticism. Booing your own players is never a good thing, he made a mistake that cost United two points, most United fans agree he isn't United class - I don't like him as a player at all - but booing a player who is warming up isn't doing anyone any good.

Cant bring myself to boo the lad.

But when i see him warming up I do fill with discontent and resentment.

Simply not united quality, and often a liability.

Disgusting from what seemed like the small minority that did boo him - from what I heard, they tried to cover it up with clapping during the warm up.

He had it spot on today. Fellaini up field as a elbowy target man of sorts with Bailly brought on to man the box.

that's the thing. He's not our player.

"Not my President"

Can't believe we've made absolute asses of ourselves again. We did the same when he came on in a preseason friendly against Valencia which he actually went on to score in. What use is booing your own players? Not his fault he's a bog standard football player.

The booing was totally classless, shame to those who did it. I'm one of his biggest critics but I would never imagine myself booing him on a warm up. I'm sure he would like to play better and have more talent if it was possible, not to mention booing your own player coming on is counter productive as hell.

What the feck you on about?

He may have a contract with United but he's not a United player. He's simply too shit to be one.

The earliest everyone realise it the better. He can build a good career with Stoke and we might one day return to our former best without him.

I am sick of has been and never been to expect United to treat them with respect. Respect is not given for free, its earned

Not pleasant I agree, but how else can match going fans put across the message to the Stubborn One, that they don't want Fellaini bringing on as a substitute when defending a 1-0 lead? Surely it would be better man management to keep Fellaini out of the spotlight for a couple of games and then use him if needed.

Absolutely appalling those who booed, not sure what they think it's going to achieve. He's a United player, I'm not his biggest fan and don't think he's the standard of player we should have, but whilst he's pulling on our shirt I'll get behind him just like every other player.
