Mourinho at full time: "Pogba a virus. You don't play. You don't respect players/fans" [Castles]

Who would you compare him with? Ronaldo? Messi? Scholes? Keane? Pele? Beckenbaur? Charlton? Best?
How about any of the current superstars not named Messi or Ronaldo? Weird how you went from all time legends, just skipped over current stars, and went right to Balotelli. That's weird right?

But honestly, how many truly great performances have there been? He's obviously our best midfielder (we saw how big an absence he was vs City,) but he's still been a massive disappointment in my opinion. People talk about Veron being a failure at United; thus far, I think Pogba is very much in the same boat.

So is every one of our players other than De Gea a failure at the club? Because currently is better than all of them.

Veron was surrounded by much much better players and played under a manager that was very attack minded at the time.

Remember that show pony Ballotelli? Both City and Liverpool tried him and he let them both down, how they tried defending him only for him to fxxk up again days later, it couldn't have happened to 2 better clubs, wonderful.....the boots on the other foot now and its our turn to be sniggered at. Like Ballotelli Pogba hasn't got it in him to dig in when the going gets hard, he hasn't got the attitude it takes to be a truly top player and no matter where he goes, when things go wrong, he'll go missing.

Now compare to Balotelli

No manager who has barely achieved anything at an elite club gets to mess up the world record signing this way, as well his mega wage 29 year old addition (Sanchez), has said elite club in 7th, and still holds on to his job.

Farcical that he's still our manager.
Our game has been horrible but to blame signings entirely on him is a joke. Pogba and Sanchez were considered power moves by the board and Woodward, Sanchez especially was us 'flexing' our financial strength and attractiveness opposed to City.

It's baffling some of the things you can read on here.

Yeah. He had worked with SAF, Conte, Allegri, Deschamps and no one questioned his professionalism. Yeah they all questioned his performance once or twice like for any other player but the player who is praised by so many for how he trains and lights up dressing room is compared to lunatic.

It's pointless to keep bringing that up. Every time I challenge someone to give me one opinion of lack of professionalism from any of the coaches you mentioned (who are not lenient coaches by any means), they can never come up with anything. But because Mourinho said it, then Pogba is the biggest issue at United. You can't have a debate with these people.

Mourinho should have been a shepherd.

I know. Same for me too, I ask for examples and thats it. I wonder whether Jose takes a dump in the morning seeing so many stuck in his ass for days.

Pogba is the solution, not the problem. Right now, he's the sole creative outlet on a team devoid of attacking talent and philosophy. Pretty much anything of note goes through him and he's asked to "keep it simple" while at the same time tasked with creating the opportunities on a static and unimaginative side. Fairly impossible situation.

From what I remember, he's never been characterized as a distraction or a character issue at his other stops and has been a critical component on some of the best teams in the world.

Our best outfield player, and one of our best performers in spite of Mourinho but is a favourite scapegoat with the like s of Martial. I don’t blame him at all not wanting to play for this hypocrite.

Never a mention of Matic, Fellaini, mctominay, Lukaku who are absolute dogshit. Nah let’s shit on our best players and performers cos this clown says so.

We won the league with Veron in the team

We won't win the league with Pogba in the team.

What? Lukaku's been getting slated constantly this season.

I mean, grim as it sounds...in the grand scheme of things, I'd struggle to name all too many players who haven't been disappointments in the last few years. Lukaku hasn't done enough, Sanchez has been poor, and our defence is largely a shambles with most of our players back there only occasionally finding brief semi-alright periods of form. The only players we can really not be disappointed in is some of our younger ones who might still come to something, and even then that's a stretch.

We won the league because we had Keane, Beckham, Van Nistelrooy, Giggs, Ferdinand, Scholes etc. We had arguably the best squad in the league and the our only competition was Arsenal in a two horse race.

He really is. Jose lives for moments like this, the man loves drama. Of course, it helps him when the fans start turning against players and shift the blame. Sad that it's working too
Yeah, that was one of the weirdest things he came out with and probably the biggest indication of what was to come this season. Instead of building on his star player being central in his team's World Cup victory, he instead opted to moan about and heavily criticize him for not performing like that under him.
The way Mourinho throws players under the bus for no particular reason is fecked up. His player won the WC and played a big role for his team, somehow this little egotistical man got offended by it. It's based on nothing but I am 1000% convinced that Pogba wouldn't play like he did versus Southampton if he played for a manager he appreciated and who appreciated him

If Jose is related to the leak, I think he wants to damage Pogba's image and ruin a move to Barca. Unlike Madrid, Barca wouldn't buy a virus.

They signed Vidal who was caught in drunk and drive case and apparently turned up to training when he was drunk. Barca will sign if they feel player is good enough.

Pogba is a virus.
Our team is not good enough and it's a miracle if we finish in top 4.

I mean what sort of player is even motivated to play for a manager like Jose?

Fair point. I just tried to make sense of the leak. If Castles is still close to Jose, he wouldn't leak the story without his agreement. So, it's about damaging Pogba's reputation.

Because there are only two sets of footballers? One like Ronaldi, Messi and the other is Balotelli?

It's about deflecting attention. See how many people are talking about "Virus" rather than talking about how shit we were against Palace and Southampton.

That's true as well. But it's a shit/toxic way of deflecting attention as he is hated even more by many fans because of it, not to talk about the consequences for the athmosphere in the changing room.

Like it said in my post, the board?

Both were massive marketing signings, Pogba signing was an indication that a future BdR candidate was willing to go to a poor United lacking even Champions League, and also was a good partner to the Adidas sponsorship as he's adidas's current main man for years to come. Sanchez increased our reach in the south american market massively as well and was considered a great player throughout the league, on top of being a 'steal' away from City.

The way the club has been run in regards to signings is majority of the problem, its not a wonder why two good if not great coaches have looked awful with us (LvG and Mourinho). IF mourinho went to some where like PSG he would probably be a success, it's too late for him here at this point but the way our board goes about signings and conducting business is just as toxic and a joke.

Majority of our signings which should've been good since Gill and Fergie left have been awful, let alone disappointing.

That's a lot of conjecture. What's your basis for all of this? Are you saying that these were signings Mourinho did not want?

More details have emerged of what happened in the away dressing room on Saturday night. It is understood that Mourinho criticised Pogba, the France midfielder, in front of his team-mates, telling the £89 million signing that he was disrespecting the United shirt by playing so poorly and giving the ball away so often.

Pogba is thought to have responded to Mourinho by complaining that he had no one to pass to because his manager’s tactics do not allow players to move around freely in front of him. The midfielder’s riposte is said to have been delivered in a calm manner and the exchange did not get heated, according to sources.

The 25-year-old was not the only one to receive a dressing-down after the draw, which leaves United in seventh place, 16 points shy of Manchester City, the league leaders. Mourinho is also understood to have castigated other players in the dressing room.

It is believed that the atmosphere within the United dressing room has soured over the past couple of weeks. Mourinho’s claim, in an interview with Hristo Stoichkov, that Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial lack “character” and “personality” went down badly with the squad, mainly because the four players that the Portuguese called out have played well this season.

 Who knew that manager being cnut won't be liked by players.

I agree 100% with Jose (if indeed he said that)

Paul Pogba is one of the most technically gifted players I have seen at Old Trafford. He is also one of the most clueless, most spoiled and most selfish

I think all of us on this forum agree that one of SAFs strengths was knowing a “cancerous” player or attitude when he saw one. The minute the likes of Stam, RvN or Ince stepped out of line they were gone (and Pogba the first time for that matter!)

I would urge people to listen to the Gary Neville episode of the “Quickly Kevin” football podcasts. Gary talks about the competitive spirit, the professionalism and the hatred of losing that was prevalent in the Utd dressing room during his playing career. It goes a long way to explaining how we were able to be so dominant.

We have too many weak, mollycoddled, overpaid, mercenary footballers at this club right now and until that changes we will continue to underperform.

I think all of the forum also agree who is the "cancer" at the club and it's not the players. Well there are few exceptions, apart from them everyone knows.

Shit term to use, hopefully no one is offended. If so apologies.

Winners? Men? Professionals? Champions? Legends?

I think a better question is “who wouldn’t be motivated to play for a manager like Jose?” and the answer I come up with is stupid little men-children who would rather get off training early to play FIFA and who care more about their likes/posts ratio for their latest hairstyle than they do their goals/assists record
