Clasie from Feyenoord is available and the perfect replacement. He wanted to leave Feyenoord last year but they too had an exodus like Southampton and forced him to stay just like Schneiderlin.
I'm pretty sure he will be the replacement as he's ready for a step up.

Where do you reckon he'll end up then? as it's almost certain he's leaving Southampton. He's no reason to reject a big move.

Clasie is more like Blind, a small holding mid who can spray passes and shield a defence. He's one of the best midfielders in our league and will leave Feyenoord, Koeman has always been a fan and tried to get him before. I would find it strange if he doesn't end up at Southampton.

It will depend on his fitness. If he gets back to the level he was then he would be a good addition, but I'm not sure if he can recover within a year since ACL injuries usually take about 9 months before a player is 'fully' fit.
If he gets close to his previous level and we could still use someone like him after next season I could see van Gaal going for him, but otherwise not as van Gaal won't be here long.
