This is exactly the kind of signing we should be making.
In the hindsight, it did feel like one, but it was more a go-for-the-kill signing than a common-sense signing at that time.Probably the most common-sense signing we could make since RvP.
Just hope this one doesnt go tits up & we somehow dont sign him. He's the type of CM we should have bought years ago - i wont bore you with the details..
I think it was common-sense then too but its just we didnt know he would fall from grace that quickly. In the hindsight, it did feel like one, but it was more a go-for-the-kill signing than a common-sense signing at that time.

I believe that whoever got RVP between us and City would have won the league. We needed the title back, and he was the man to deliver it. We also needed to stop him going to City. I don't know if the club saw it that way as well, but it I think it was definitely the right thing to do, even if we did only get one truly great season out of him.
Has there been a single reliable source for this? I keep seeing reports from the STar and the mail but nothing on the BBC or any other reliable journo.
Both Sky and BBC journos have said they expect it to be announced this week. Its as good as done I think (hope)
Just Twitter talk from those journalists so it doesn't really count. But Sky have said that we are "very interested" and that negotiations were moving forward.Could you provide a link by any chance?

Still, if they trusted their sources enough, they'd write a story about it. Twitter is their outlet for the information that they don't trust quite enough to put their journalistic integrity at stake.I don't have links handy but there's been various tweets over the past week from Sky. And Howard Nurse from the BBC (usually reliable) tweeted yesterday that it could be done by Wednesday

He's homegrown too, after the possible departures of Rafael and Evans we may need a few.Wait, he's only 25? I thought he was a couple years older since he's been around for so long.
It's not too bad, I guess.
If Howard Nurse said that, then it's probably done.
I get you're point, but its the same thing really man. We lost the league by 1 goal - so we signed a top-class Prem striker that would help make sure that wouldnt happen the next season..
Manchester United's official photographer Craig Norwood has started following seemingly imminent signing Morgan Schneiderlin on Twitter.
The French international is set to complete his £25m move from Southampton on Wednesday, and United supporters on Twitter have reacted with joy at this recent development.
One fan was quick to point out that Norwood followed Juan Mata before he joined United in January 2014, so we all know what this means...
Isn't that old news and didn't he turn out not to be an official photographer of the club?
Craig Norwood has started following Schneiderlin on Twitter.
Oooooh Yeah!! It's MorgON!!

So I painstakingly went through all of the people that Craig Norwood follows on Twitter and the only footballers he follows are Sam Johnstone and Morgan Schneiderlin.
Never thought I'd see a day of Pogue being a transfer muppet.I'm too emotionally involved in this one now. Won't be so much pleased as relieved if/when it goes through. Will dive headlong into the five stages of grief if it doesn't.
This one's a goer, lads.So I painstakingly went through all of the people that Craig Norwood follows on Twitter and the only footballers he follows are Sam Johnstone and Morgan Schneiderlin.
MorGON SchneiderLON
Sorry, I'll get my coat!
GON' LON?
Gone London? Signing for Arsenal.
Please tell me it's true fellow muppets? I'm ridiculously lazy at hunting for transfer news on Monday's.
No, it means we are signing Gonalons as well.GON' LON?

It was posted yesterday already I think, and yes someone did say he's not actually the club photographer. Don't know if it's true or notIsn't that old news and didn't he turn out not to be an official photographer of the club?
