I don't think Brighton set asking prices as such, I'm sure they would accept 85m though.
If that’s the case we should be all over this and ask them to take Amad on loan as a sweetener
Avid Chelsea fan pretending to be ITK?
We need Amad for next season, no question. If that’s the case we should be all over this and ask them to take Amad on loan as a sweetener
Oh, look. We were never going to get him and the Mount + Caicedo brigade were deluded. Another one for the long list of gullible Murtough fans.
Not to mention the fact that one of their best players is Solly March who plays in the same positionWhy would Brighton want Amad on a loan? They rather buy a player on the cheap and sell that player for big money later. I believe that Brighton is in the business of developing their own players and not into developing Manchester United players for Manchester United.
I was about to ask you guys about him, since other chelsea accounts quote him. But regardless, legit sources said Brighton value him at "over 80m" so its a reasonable guess. I dont think it will be anywhere near 100m.Yep, pretty much. He's some teenager with you youtube channel who pretends he has inside sources. Would take it with grain of salt.

Why do some people think transfers go on like something kids would do in a daycare. Oh you wont give me that toy, I'll just pretend I'm interested in a toy you want so you'll give me a toy I want.
I would rather take any reports linking Caicedo to Utd with a pinch of salt to be honest. I’m surprised how many here are actually getting invested in the thought of us getting him.Yep, pretty much. And they have Julio Enciso - 19 year old forward who got 4 goals and 2 assists in 800~ minutes last season. Rather than bothering rearing Amad only for him to back to Man Utd the next season, they'd be much better spending their efforts on their own player who'll undoubtedly fetch a big fee if his progression continues in a few years.Im always find it fascinating when people act like it is such a blessing for another club when they are allowed to loan a Manchester United youth player.
In the past there was probably an element of truth in it, but football has changedIm always find it fascinating when people act like it is such a blessing for another club when they are allowed to loan a Manchester United youth player.
Explain?Oh, look. We were never going to get him and the Mount + Caicedo brigade were deluded. Another one for the long list of gullible Murtough fans.

One of the people I constantly argue with, UnitedSofa (pretty sure he's got me blocked ), was going on about how we're in for both Mount and Caicedo and I just cannot see it. We simply don't have the money.Explain?
So a rejected offer actually means done deal?I would rather take any reports linking Caicedo to Utd with a pinch of salt to be honest. I’m surprised how many here are actually getting invested in the thought of us getting him.
Him going to Chelsea is one of the most nailed on transfers this summer. Not a chance we’re getting into a bidding war. Chelsea have spent ridiculous amounts of upto half a billon on some real dross in the last 18 months or so. They aren’t going to suddenly walk away from Brighton wanting £80m(ish) for one of the best midfielders in the league last season.
Caicedo to Chelsea is a done deal. Just like Mount to Utd is.
Most done deals start off with rejected offers, sometimes multiple. No one goes in and gives the asking price, shake hands and walk out.So a rejected offer actually means done deal?
He clearly has sources though especially when it comes to Academy players and signings.

Absolutely, that’s why it shouldn’t be surprising that utd fans are getting their hopes up over Caicedo, now reliable journalists have said we’re moving our attention onto him. Most done deals start off with rejected offers, sometimes multiple. Both transfers will happen. Window hasn’t even opened yet. Plenty of time for more shenanigans.
CEO at Brighton. By press conference 2023.Who’s barber?
The classic moving our attention away. I remember how we turned our attention away from Antony last summer and then turned our attention back with 3 kings bearing gifts of an extra 10m.Absolutely, that’s why it shouldn’t be surprising that utd fans are getting their hopes up over Caicedo, now reliable journalists have said we’re moving our attention onto him.

I think you're right about Mount to United though. I think that one will get done, probably at around £60M including all add-ons.

Read again. Not wanting to pay £80m, but not wanting to pay more than £80m.The irony in them not wanting to pay £80 million for a 21 year old on the back of a breakout season with years on his contract yet wanting £65 million for a 24 year old who doesn’t want to there and who is on the back of his worst season with a year left on his contract, hopefully we go all in for Caicedo now then Mount right at the end of the window.
This "he's a united fan" doesn't mean Jack shit. I mean Luke Shaw is a chelsea fan.He seemed very Chelsea bound but I could see him changing his mind when we make serious efforts. He is a United fan and we could offer him CL.

My point exactly.Yeah then we would have to sacrifice GK/ST
Pretty sure that's illegal. If the deal is done, it has to be announced. They can delay a couple of days but not much beyond that.I don’t think we’re in for both but I actually do think we have the money
I think Qatar is a done deal, and the club are using this period whilst they finish up the finer details to agree some transfer fees before the inevitable Qatar tax is added
I mean imagine trying to weasel out of 5m for Mount once we’re owned by a state… every player will have 20m added to the price tag
My point exactly.

I'd be very happy if we signed Caicedo, but I think this is nothing more than a ploy to get Chelsea to come down on their valuation on Mount. I actually think we need Caicedo more than we need Mount. We are one injury, suspension or loss of form from Casemiro to having no recognised defensive midfielder.
Maybe... I'm still sceptical the deal is done.it’s not illegal
once there is a handshake agreement there are still details to work through which can take weeks if you draw it out.. so they are not breaking any laws by not announcing it
Maybe... I'm still sceptical the deal is done.
For me, if we get Caicedo, it's a crucial signing, similar to Kante in the past for Chelsea. He'll improve all the clubs that are in for him.
yeah, I’d be delighted if we get him instead of Mount
Personally I would even go with De Gea for another season if it means getting Caicedo, an attacking mid and a striker. But I just don’t see us getting Caicedo at all.I can live that IF we somehow get Rabiot to provide that partner/cover for Casa, particularly in those big games against City/scousers/Arsenal
My gut feeling is that we don’t have the money for both right now but perhaps if we make sales we can close on Mount late in the window. It’s a complete minefield for murtough to be working in right nowOne of the people I constantly argue with, UnitedSofa (pretty sure he's got me blocked ), was going on about how we're in for both Mount and Caicedo and I just cannot see it. That is very convoluted. I’ve never seen us play more than five “midfielders”, where you getting six from, if you don’t mind my asking?I will be more than happy if we sign Caicedo, but I find it kind of funny that posters are happy with us paying £80m ish for a 21 year old who has had 1 good season, as opposed to £60m ish for a 24 year old who last season aside has been one of the best PL mids in the preceding seasons.
For me Caicedo and Mount are very different players, I think Mount provides cover across the front of midfield, in particular for Eriksen who cannot manage another 60 game season, whereas Caicedo probably provides more direct cover for Casemiro, ideally I would love us to sign both, I feel we probably need Caicedo more but I really do not see it as an either or....
Say we have 6 midfield positions, if we play 60 games next season this is effectively 360 games for midfield positions, currently these are covered by 6 players who are able to consistently deliver quality Casemiro, Bruno, Eriksen, Rashford, Garnacho, Antony, if we rely on those alone it is 60 games each.... so last season we were reducing this using Sancho, Fred and McT.... (also this does not account for Rashford playing as a striker) none of whom really showed enough to warrant 1st team starts, if we sign Mount, Caicedo and Amad plays well that is still 40 games each, so 2 mids plus Amad seems very reasonable, just hope we can shift Sancho, Fred and McT
