Is this guy reliable or just another numpty?

Caicedo is a reliable player IMO, very good defensively and crisp passer.
I know what you meant
Mount + Rabiot + Caicedo
Must mean a couple players are on the way out?
That's good. Just push Dalot up alongside Antony and tuck Shaw in as the LCB whilst progressing the ball, which would allow Martinez to step into midfield.-----------------Onana
Dalot--Varane--Martinez--Shaw
-------Casemiro--Caicedo--
--Antony----Bruno-----Rashford
----------------Hojlund
See that looks good on paper, but I just don't think ETH wants to setup with a double pivot.-----------------Onana

Ideally we add Mount or Kudus to the team as competition to Bruno and they both bring additional qualities to the team. It just depends on how much money we have to spend.Caicedo adds physicality, energy and press resistance to our midfield. Really helps our play in the buildup phase, but if we're selling 2-3 midfielders we would need another creative #8/10 option, rather than Rabiot. Maybe someone like Eze.

I'd really want a better attacking fullback than Dalot in that sort of set-up.
Ideally we'd have Mason Mount in the right half space with Antony holding width. And with Mount's ability to deliver accurate crosses with his right foot, it'd make a strong combination on the right side of attack in possession as well as the right side being strong out of possession.I'm a big fan of this. I could see Antony playing the RW role though.
Is Caceido really better than Fred?
This is not a tricky question, I have simply not watched Caceido enough to be able to judge myself.
I really like Fred’s attitude and application, and his ability to shut out a game for us like against City at home. However, Caicedo is probably a better right back than Fred a midfielder, let alone the like for like comparison in midfield. He has way more room to grow as well.Is Caceido really better than Fred?

Think our name is just in there for pressure. It suits both Brighton and us for him to be linked to us as it hurts Chelsea in multiple directions.

If we're going to line up with one of our RBs dropping into RCB when we're in possession, it's going to be Wan-Bissaka who gets the nod.Could easily be Shaw up there in attack, with Dalot/AWB being the 3rd CB in buildup. That's happened a lot this season later on. I'm a fan of the Shaw-Rashford pipeline.

We need a former player agent on the case. Valencia? He seemed very Chelsea bound but I could see him changing his mind when we make serious efforts. He is a United fan and we could offer him CL.

Having been priced out of a move for Mount, it seems exceedingly unlikely that we will instead turn our attentions to this much more expensive player.
United suddenly being 'in' for Chelsea's top midfield target this summer is more likely just part of the fun and games of the Mount negotiations.
We should’ve closed that deal when he was still playing in South America.
Is he good enough at spinning around for the double pivot role is my question?

The cost of Caicedo is irrelevant.
Mount has 1 year left so we have clearly set a limit on his signing as he'll be free next year.
That doesn't mean we couldn't afford more if we wanted to, hence us moving on to Caicedo, who is younger and has longer left on his current deal.
I was thinking about this the other day.Complex ownership situation
I was thinking about this the other day.
Rather than one man signing off on everything (Joel) they should appoint some sort of 'transfer committee' if they don't have one already but I think they have one sort of. For small deals (let's say under £5 million) they shouldn't need the approval of Joel but if they can get a majority of the transfer committee instead. I think it would be a better way to do it.
