Gaming Modern Warfare 2

COD just irritates me now. It's full of people that spend their life on it and know the maps inside out. There's just no chance for people that only go on it from time to time.

Play Battlefield: Bad Company 2 then.

Harder at first, but very diverse gameplay so you can counter even really good player's strengths.

I might just do that.

Be warned though, both very good games with very different approaches to what fps online should be.

Once you're over the adjustment period with B:BC2, it's fecking amazing. Sorry that's IF you can adjust to it, because it's a lot slower and the controls are heavier, but it's less frustrating I find. Plus you can load your helicopter up with c4, fly it right over the enemy base and then parachute out whilst detonating the c4 just as it lands on their m-com station, winning you the whole round.

Yeh but i'm hoping it isnt full of losers that spend their whole life on it.

I'm 9th 70. Have put off going to 10th as it will just look like i've modded it. I really am a bit of a sad cnut.

New map pack screen shots:

I'd be tempted to boycott these maps, but they actually look a lot better this time.

EDIT: looks like they've been removed.

That really is terribly sad! I've been on 70 for ages but can't be arsed with prestige as the gun I use most only gets unlocked at level 56 and it'll just annoy me not having it!

What gun is that? I mainly use the intervention or M4A1 so it doesn't overly bother me. If I didn't prestige I'd get bored quickly.

The M21 EBR, I enjoy sniping even on maps not particularly suited to it and it's fire rate and lack of recoil make it a great choice. It's not the most powerful but if your accurate enough that doesn't really matter and I play hardcore TD mostly these days so it's not an issue anyway.

If I use a machine gun instead it's the scar every time.

I never really play hardcore mainly because it's full of people noob tubing. It does seem to attract the no0bier players. My mate plays hardcore mind, and only uses a 50.cal with a silencer and acog scope. I initially thought he was mental, but for some odd reason it seems pretty effective. Has a nice ping to it also.

I don't even know what "prestiging" is. That's how cool i am.

Everyone finds it impossible in the beginning. You just have to suck it up, take the rounds where you go 0 and 24 with a pinch of salt, and you will get better. Perseverance is the key. And learn the maps.

I've had it for ages but it's very much my second favourite. I don't have the time to play often enough to learn the maps. I'm in the mid20's in terms of skill level.

They are pretty good. someone on my contracts (just a randomer, I don't know who he is) has a K/D R of 3. something - mind you every time I go on my xbox 360 he is online playing it.

Back at it after spending 2 months on my new PS3. I got the Stimulus Pack when it dropped but never played until last night. Pretty good maps, and I'm glad to see the two MW maps there. Anyone downloading the new maps that come out today?

I'm loving Hardcore Stimulus. Some quality matches going on. I've been rocking the FAL with Silencer/Holographic Sight.

Im I the only spa who never really used tactical insertions before? On some maps you can cause havoc. Playing demolition on rundown I went 34-4, by the end of the game the other half of other team had given up trying to defend the bomb site and where more concerned with trying to kill "that sly wanker".

The stimulus package has some good maps and some shite ones. Not worth the dosh but very good noneheless. I'll probably fall for the next one too, it's out today I think for XBox and a month later for PS3. I'm a PS3 owner so I quite like that personally, as the reviews are everywhere so I know whether it's good or no before I buy.

I use the M16A4 with silencer and fmj and the spas as my secondary. beautiful. The game is horribly addictive and is in danger of derailing my A Levels. I'm level 70 first prestige and I don't think I'm gonna prestige again because I'll be getting Red Dead Redemtion after exams. I'm delaying that because I know full well that if I get it now it will eat up even more of my day than COD currently does.

I really like the M16 but i rarely use it because i love the M4 with Red Dot optic a little more and once i get a high enough level i am pretty much exclusively rocking the M22 EBR (which is actually not an M22 but an M14 EBR) with the ACOG optic. It fecking owns! I do use the M16 on my Anti-Air setup just for the change and because it still has good stopping power even without the Stopping Power perk which i have replaced with Cold Blooded.

For secondary, you can't look past the AA-12 imo. It owns anyone else with a shotgun in a head-on blastathon in a CQB situation. I do think the decision to have shotguns as a secondary weapon was completely retarded though.

The new maps are cool. Hopefully they'll grow on me. So far Trailer Park is the best. You should definitely run a shotgun as a secondary on that map, and probably a submachine gun as your primary. It's small as hell. Claymores are extremely effective because there's atleast 15 chokepoints all over the map.

Fuel is insanely huge ... I rebuilt my marathon classes because you'll die and respawn a solid 10 seconds away from the action.

Strike is ok, they've opened up a few rooms to give more access to areas. The map was always hit or miss for me, and it still is.

Vacant is still good ole CQB, but the updated lighting makes it really easy to hide in the corners and not be seen. I'm talking hiding like a ninja ... all I was seeing was muzzle flashes and it was too late.

Carnival is just awesome. There's so much going on, and if you're on a good team, it's really easy to get to the fighting because it's so easy to communicate on the map. Everyone knows where you're talking about.

I like the Stimulus Map Pack better though.

Scar and Tar are both brilliant. I'd say Scar is far more accurate, but Tar kills quicker. Tar has more mags but if you unlock extended mags on the Scar, it is a beast.

Split between using a silencer or extended mags/fmj at the moment. Silencer can do well when you sit back and pick people off, but without it you can just kill a lot quicker, but then again you're position is on the radar.

I'll only use suppressors really if I'm playing hardcore. Usually I'm playing with some decent teammates and I don't really worry about getting snuck up on because we roll together. I can't play without Scavenger Pro; I hate running out and picking up a weapon and not being ready to use it. The SCAR is definitely deadly, as long as your first shot hits. I can't handle the TAR-21. My friend is a beast with it though.

How come no one likes the ACR? That's my favourite.

I run it, but the amount of rounds that have to hit to kill is weak, even with stopping power, and I hate running Bling Pro to use FMJ as I can't live without Scavenger Pro. On Hardcore it's king though, it's accuracy is killer.
