Yea I've only just started playing it online, and it does seem that some people can melee attack from a much further distance than me. Is there some sort of achievement for this?

I bought this game on the day it came out and I just started online multiplayer last night. Up to level 9 and keep getting stabbed from 15 feet away when I'm blatantly shooting them in the face
Learning to stab as a reaction without thinking about it is a big benefit. Problem is when some people see one of the opposition they sometimes panic and stab wildly instead of shooting. Comical to watch.
The Commando perk increases melee distance.

I usually panic and shoot, but sort of all over the place whilst the other guy casualy walks up and stabs me.
I stabbed 2 clan geeks in the back earlier, one after the other. They were not happy that a level 4 noob had crept up on them and made their fancy level 60+s and fancy clan tags look like shit.

Has anyone done any port forwarding for this game? It says my NAT thing is strict so I'm not able to have any private matches with my mates at the moment.

Give your PS3 a static IP address, and stick it in the DMZ of the router - all bother gone.

Or when you stab them in their head but your blade momentarily decides to turn into a sponge, then they stab you instead with their knife.
Knifing is a noble art.
The First Recon class is a good class for stabbing, btw.

I just downloaded update 1.08 for PS3 and its crashed twice in half an hour. Its never done that before.

I just started playing this, and the first thing I realised was that the opening bloke talking - Shepherd - and the sergeant in the tutorial are Admiral Hackett and Captain Anderson from Mass Effect!

When setting up a network do a custom setup
use the pppoe option i think its called for the type of setup
username should be : eircom@eircom.net
password should be: broadband1

Finally got to play with someone I know, and it kept fecking signing me out of the PS network. 3 or 4 times it did it in 25 minutes...wtf??
